Having had relatives in other homes in recent years, Reinbeck is the best by far. The majority of the staff are very caring and encourage the residents with their interests.
The cleanliness of all parts of the home is excellent.
They attend very quickly to any medical needs, often identifying them
before the resident does.
Overall the food is good but the choice of ready-made sandwiches is poor.
Staff should intervene to resolve disputes between residents without the need for a written request to do so.

The staff are friendly. I don't really think this kind of review has much value. But for what it's worth, my father tried several residences in the area, for respite and Reinbek was the one he liked best.
The garden is pleasant and the staff make an effort to provide a homely atmosphere.
My father
has commented that the standard of the meals has gone down recently.

We have been delighted with Reinbek since the first day my mother moved in there. The staff are fantastic, and always so caring and cheerful. Nothing is too much trouble and my mum is happy and very well looked after. The decision to move a parent in to residential care is a harrowing one, and we are
so grateful to know that Reinbek was the very best choice for my mum. Even as her needs have changed over time they have always been met in a professional and appropriate way. Thank you to all at Reinbek.

I find Reinbek to be a comfortable and friendly environment with very helpful staff who have assisted Mum to settle in. Her room is lovely, clean and comfortable and she feels safe and secure. She is always clean and well dressed when I visit, with her hair and nails done! A special thank you to the
"laundry ladies" for the wonderful service provided and who are always very pleasant. Menus could be a little more tempting and varied but overall satisfactory. An entertainments organiser has only recently been introduced, she is first class and does her best to encourage residents to participate. She always has a smile on her face and the performers and trips out have been thoroughly welcomed and enjoyed by all. Communication from the Management has been excellent. The transition from care in her own home to residential care has been very good and any problems that arose have been sympathetically handled and dealt with. I have peace of mind that Mum is being well looked after.

My mother was a resident for 13 months. She was always treated with great respect and kindness by all the staff from the cleaners upwards. It was very obvious how fond they all were of my mother and they were a huge support to me and my family during the last few weeks of mums life. I'm glad the building
is soon to be modernised as some of the rooms definitely need a facelift but I cannot fault the care in anyway which is the most important thing.

Mum has been a resident at Reinbek for approximately sixteen months. She has lived on her own for twenty yea4rs after dad died and so Reinbek was the best place for her to be because there are other residents she can mix with in the day room. Because of her mobility problems the carers have the expertise
of knowing of how to move and handle her. Recently mum has had a sore on her heel the carers have requested GP/District Nurse to dress her wound.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.657)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.657) out of 10 for Reinbek is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 19 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.682 for Reinbek is calculated as follows: ( (156 Excellents x 5) + (54 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 217 Ratings = 4.682
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.975 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Reinbek is based on 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.975
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 46 registered maximum number of service users is 9.2, which has been reached with 19 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
