It has now been two months since dad moved into Greatwood house, and we couldn't be more grateful for the kindness, compassion and support we have received.
The staff have taken the time to really get to know Dad as a person-his routines, his preferences and what makes him feel comfortable. Seeing the genuine warmth and respect they show him every day has given us great reassurance that he is receiving truly individualised care.
The communication with our family has been excellent. We always feel listened to, kept informed and welcomed whenever we visit. Nothing ever seems too much trouble.
What has touched us most is the care and understanding shown to mum. Leaving her husband of many years in someone else's care was an incredibly difficult step, but the staff have supported her with such patience, empathy and kindness. Their compassion has made a challenging transition so much easier for all of us.
We as a family are very satisfied with the care at Greatwood House. Staff very caring & Support very good. Activities Excellent.
Very nice people that work here, always helping out for visitors.
Greatwood House is a fabulous care home. There is a warm, friendly, welcoming atmosphere. Residents are treated with dignity and respect and nothing is too much trouble. It is very well managed by professional and experienced staff who really care about the residnets and their families. The facilities are excellent and various planned activities keep the residents entertained. Families are provided with a regular newsletter containing photographs and information about what has been happening over the past few months. Overall - an excellent care home.
Dad came to Greatwood after much soul searching and a very hard decision. We couldn't have been happier with the support and kindness we received as a family, and Dad received as a resident. He seems to have settled really well.
Mum has been in Greatwood for just over 12 months.
I have been very happy with the care that has been provided throughout this time.
The staff have been excellent with her and it is clear that they are always trying to keep her happy despite her Dementia.
The food quality is great and suitable for the age group. The staff know what Mum likes and she gets regular 'treats' (they known she like her chocolate bars and biscuits!).
Regular entertainment takes place with the likes of singers visiting / bingo sessions as well as visits from local Churches and children's groups. Mum appears to really enjoy these activities.
Overall we have been very satisfied with Greatwood.
I would like to compliment the care home on their continued compassionate care to my husband Phil. The care home is always calm, clean, well staffed.
Very please with everything at Greatwood House. Staff are brilliant and the care given to mum has been excellent. Would recommend Greatwood House to anyone.
Overall a good experience. Staff supportive + polite. I am son-in-law of resident Moira. Always informed of any concerns or additional needs.
During the time Mum has spent at Greatwood, we, the family, have been overwhelmed by the amazing staff and the care and attention they show to her and the other residents. We are delighted we chose Greatwood!
The care provided cannot be faulted, Michael is a resident due to his health & security. The care home provides peace of mind for all concerned with Michael. I am very happy with all the facilities and care provided.
My uncle came into the care of Greatwood House recently due to declining health & frailty & dementia. To date the level of care and help he has received is really good. The staff are all very friendly. The atmosphere is really nice. I am so pleased with the care and attention my uncle is receiving.
As always the care and love Mum receives here at Greatwood House is fantastic. I cannot speak highly enough of the superb staff and their brilliant care of my mum since she has been here.
Very friendly and welcoming atmosphere making visitors feel relaxed. Helpful staff, who seem to know residents and their needs very well. Considerate of the needs of family members during the Christmas period.
The staff at Greatwood House are fantastic! It's a pleasure going in to see my mum. They are are friendly, kind and always have a smile. The girl that does the entertainmnet is brilliant on what must be a tight fund but her energy and fun lights the place up. And the manager & office staff are always there for any concern I have. They do a wonderful job.
Having been a resident here for 2 years my brother is extremely happy. He calls Greatwood House his home. All the staff are friendly and approachable. Nothing is too much trouble. Extremely satisfied.
My dad moved into Greatwood House on the 4/2/25. He sadly passed away there on the 17/7/25 a few days after his 90th Birthday. He was well cared for, any concerns were communicated to me straight away. The facilities are great, as is the entertainment programme. When he began to decline rapidly, the staff were very attentive and caring to me and my dad. He was treated with dignity and care during his last few days. He passed away peacefully with us around him and his favorite music playing.
The first thing that struck me was the cleanliness and the modern furniture, very impressed, then greeted by the office staff like old friends. I have also sampled the food, like being at a restaurant.
The home has provided mum with a safe and generally happy environment. The level of care mum requires could not be provided in her own home or that of family members and the staff and facilities provided at Greatwood House have given peace of mind to mum relatives. The staff demonstrate patience, caring and good humour in sometimes difficult circumstances. They are a credit to themselves and Greatwood House.
During my mothers respite stay at Greatwood her care from the home was excellent in every way. My mother can be quite demanding at times but the staff handle her ery well and made her feel comfortable at all times. She is now permanently staying at the home after careful consideration with myself and family. We feel that she will be in a safe environment and will be looked after at all times. Which gives myself peace of mind whilst I am at work. I will always recommend Greatwood to all my family and friends.
