Welcome to Bentley Manor Care Home, located just north of Crewe town centre.

The home is ideally placed for the local community and those coming from Leighton Hospital and the surrounding areas.

This very popular purpose-built care home is spacious and modern and provides residential and nursing care and as well as care for those who suffer the impact of dementia on their lives and other mental health issues. The well trained, experienced and dedicated team are able to ensure such high levels of care because of the individual, tailor made care plans which are written in order to ensure that every detail of an individual’s care is recorded. Such ‘person centeredness’ is how the home achieves its high standards of quality of care. The value of such an approach cannot be understated.

Home cooked menus are on offer to residents and their visitors. Meals are cooked by the home's own chefs, with resident favourite meals reflected in menu choices. Start the day with a cooked breakfast if you wish or be tempted with traditional meals and desserts! Good food is very important and the chefs at Bentley Manor Care Home enjoy tempting residents to eat and drink well.

Most bedrooms are en-suite and have been recently redecorated with residents choosing the choice of colours and wallpapers. Lounges and dining rooms have also been decorated with residents' choices in mind, residents spend a lot of time together and they team want them to have homely and comfortable places to spend their time.

Group activities, music and entertainment, as well as individual time with residents, is planned by the dedicated activity coordinator ensuring that resident days are varied and interesting. Gathering information from residents and families regarding favourite music, hobbies and interests ensure that the activity programme for each resident can be ‘tailor made’.

My mum has been here for about 4-years, and she has had excellent care throughout. The staff are always patient, considerate, caring and friendly.
Unfortunately, we cannot visit at the moment due to Coronavirus, but the staff have managed to keep the home virus-free and have still taken the time to
contact me and my sister to update us. They have encouraged her to talk on the phone - no mean feat!
I would highly recommend to anyone looking for care for a loved one.
Well done, all the staff!

I couldn't ask for a more caring staff.
This has helped my mother enormously with her complete needs.
I just wish she could have been placed here sooner.

My Nana moved into Bentley Manor recently and I have seen a massive change in her. We were very nervous about Mana going into a nursing home but right from the start when the managers came to visit Nana at the hospital they put us at ease. The care staff are amazing and have helped my Nana to be independent
as possible. My Nana is talking more and her wellbeing has improved dramatically. The home is lovely and from the managers to the care staff, to the cleaners, they make me feel at ease and they always welcome me. What a fantastic team.

Just wanted to mention how wonderful the staff are here at Bentley Manor Care Home, my mother is a resident here and she is always comfortable and happy in the welcoming environment that the staff tirelessly provide.
The team are great at providing continual communication to family members about any
changes in care, and the staff always ensure that the residents have a dignified stay. My mother always comments how she feels at home.
The standard of care is exemplary even considering the everyday difficulties that are faced by dementia patient.
I would recommend this home to anyone and I want to thank the staff for all their hard work.
Reply from Alison Foreman, Commercial Director at Bentley Manor Care HomeThank you for taking the time and trouble to submit such a wonderful review for Bentley Manor Care Home. The staff in the dementia unit that care for my mum, do it in a respectful and caring way. The layout of the dementia unit suits my mum's needs as there are only a few residents in each living area.
The staff are very good at communicating with me at home about any changes to Mum's care and reporting
any concerns they have.

My husband always seems settled. He always looks clean, tidy and his bedroom is lovely. He seems to love his food. The only concern I have, his glasses and slippers go missing. I have put his name on them but never been found. I understand things go missing as he does wander from room to room. Otherwise,
I am very happy with the attention he gets.
Reply from Alison Foreman, Commercial Director at Bentley Manor Care HomeThank you very much for your review. Things being 'mislaid' can be an issue when residents are up and around the home, although we encourage our residents to be active and take every opportunity to move around rather than sit all day. This can result in items being left behind in any number of places and we do our level best to reunite items with owners, but things do not immediately come to light, unfortunately. We are always concerned when glasses go missing, as being without them is certainly not helpful. Please be sure to speak to Lee, the Home Manager, to gain reassurance as to how the team ensure that your husband's glasses are always available to him and identified. Kind regards.

My husband was admitted to Bentley Nursing Home initially for two weeks respite. I had cared for him at home since he was diagnosed with dementia ten years ago.
During his respite, he was given excellent care and attention and I feel very lucky that he is now able to stay on a permanent basis.
The
staff are very friendly and really do care for the patient's welfare and dignity.
I could not ask for more and it is a great relief to me to have found such a place.

My aunt seems very happy and settled in the home. She always looks clean and tidy. Considering that she is doubly incontinent there is never any smell. She is nearly always in the main lounge and takes an interest in what is going on around her. She is now 98 and has to have her food softened and her
drinks thickened.

When told we would have to sell her house to keep her there, she was upset about the cost but realises she couldn't possibly go home and be on her own. She enjoys the company and general hustle and bustle going on around her.

Reply from Alison Foreman, Commercial Director at Bentley Manor Care HomeThank you very much for your review. I am glad that you speak about the day to day reality of living in a care home. Many of our residents enjoy having the company of others which they would not get if they were at home on their own and this along with the close personal care people require and receive tips the balance over and above electing to stay at home. The realities of the costs associated with living in a care home, within the current financial rules and regulations regarding Adult Social Care, have to be faced but keeping people safe, secure and well cared for has to take priority, as difficult as it sometimes is and we perfectly understand that. Thank you very much for your comments. Kind regards.

My father has been in Bentley Care Home for over two weeks now. He has settled in very well and been treated with great care and dignity by the staff.
The care home promotes mobility for the patients so they stay in good health and mind.
Meals are also very good with a range of foods so this keeps
the patient's strength up.
All of the staff are very friendly and also hard working. You can tell that they care for the patients.
I would definitely recommend Bentley Care Home to others.

My dad suffered a major stroke in mid-December 2016. This has left him semi-paralysed and brain damaged and unable to communicate. He was in hospital for 3 months, and we had terrible trouble trying to find him a nice home. Several homes turned him down due to his condition; however, Bentley Manor accepted
him straight away. On my initial visit, I was unimpressed. The lounge seemed cramped and the dining room sparse, and there didn’t seem to be any activities going on. The grounds were also rather overgrown.

We accepted a place as we were desperate to get him out of the hospital. He has now moved in, and I have to say I am so glad he was accepted there. The management has been very accommodating and understanding and the staff are all excellent. I am confident he is receiving the greatest of care, and they have given him the dignity and respect he deserves. I have visited several times now and he seems very happy and settled.

Reply from Alison Foreman, Commercial Director at Bentley Manor Care HomeThank you very much for taking the time and trouble to review Bentley Manor. I can appreciate how first impressions count so much, the time during which you visited was not a good one for the presentation of the home as we were completing what was a major move of services and room - there were times when the home did not look pretty, so we very much apologise for that. However, we are now back on track and the home is looking great! With regard to the care, well that is the strength of the home. The team at Bentley Manor are dedicated to giving great care and it shines through when residents and families, like yourself, give really touching and heartfelt feedback, so thank you for that. Kind Regards.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.897)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.897) out of 10 for Bentley Manor Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 20 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.897 for Bentley Manor Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (214 Excellents x 5) + (16 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 234 Ratings = 4.897
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Bentley Manor Care Home is based on 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 80 registered maximum number of service users is 16, which has been reached with 20 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
