My mother was a resident at Alsley Lodge for 2 1/2 years. During this time she was treated with absolute dignity and respect. Alsley Lodge became her home where she was looked after and tended to as an individual by all of the staff. Her final days were spent at Alsley Lodge. The staff, the service, the care and most importantly, the compassion, were overwhelming. My family and I cannot thank you enough for the care shown to our mother.
Mum goes for respite three or four times a year and is also happy to go. When she gets home, she says she could go and live there, which she probably will.
This was a very stressful time for us, Alsley Lodge could not have made the process any easier, they stepped in helped and supported us throughout.
The staff are respectful kind and caring. There is a varied range of activities available throughout the week to encourage socialisation, such as the pianist and weekly sing-song. The staff are very accommodating with our requests, tea coffee etc even providing bird feeders for my mother in law.
The home itself is clean and welcoming and the standard of care is excellent.
My mother in law is once again happy.
My Mother passed away in Alsley Lodge in April. She was sat with until her end and was never alone. She was looked after with care and compassion, I still feel the need to go and visit the girls. I do have an elderly friend still there want to keep the friends I have made there. Keep up all your fantastic work ladies, I now class you all as my extended family and friends. Thank you.
My Gran has been living there since last September and the staff are wonderful. Gran has dementia and has been very challenging but the staff have always been excellent and dealt with every situation with care and compassion.
The home has a lovely family feel and all the residents are very happy. The carers are so friendly and we always have a few laughs when we go in to visit Gran.
The management team are fantastic and have helped us with many issues, especially when Gran first went into the home which can be such a stressful time for the family.
We are very pleased with every aspect of the home and can't thank the whole team at Alsley Lodge enough. Thank you.
Her memory in the short term in still causing a problem and leaves her confused when moving about in the living area.
During my regular visits, she finds difficulty in locating her way to the dining room and her own private accommodation. My wife has always been an avid reader but unfortunately, she is unable to recognise print anymore. She does, however, take part in most afternoon activities which are both stimulating and excellently organised.
My sister who suffers from Alzheimer's disease is a resident in Alsley Lodge so it is impossible to get any feedback from her but I have always found the Care Home clean - the staff very helpful and there seem to be lots of activities for the able residents to take part in.
This is why Alsley Lodge is such a success. Good luck to all the staff keep up with the good work.
Alsley Lodge Care home has been caring for my mother for a year. The warm loving atmosphere of the home has transformed my mother's outlook on life. Over the past year, she has developed a new interest in everything around her and she loves being at Alsley Lodge and has developed new friendships. She has put on weight and has a zest for life hitherto missing. The staff are extremely compassionate and go the extra mile on many occasions. Relatives are always made very welcome and encouraged to feel part of the care home family. My family are delighted with my mother's care.
My mother is happy and feels safe in Alsley Lodge. The staff are friendly, helpful and welcoming. Her room is well appointed. The care home staff have accompanied her to dental and hospital appointments.
Mum has been a resident at Alsley Lodge for nearly 2 years. During that time she has been well cared for by friendly & helpful staff. She enjoys her meals and chooses what she wants to get involved in. Communication by telephone with the home management and with my mum works very well and is important to me as I live abroad.
Mum has always resisted the idea of going into care, but when the time came that she was no longer able to manage on her own, we feel we were extremely fortunate to have found Alsley Lodge. She has settled in far better than any of us expected and is very happy there. Staff are friendly and helpful, everywhere is nice and clean and food always looks appetising and is nicely presented. There always seems to be activities for residents to take part in if they wish. I really feel in some ways mum is happier than she was when in her own home as she now has more stimulation mentally than she did and her physical condition has improved as a consequence.
My Father has been a resident since July 2015 and has settled in extremely well and feels safe and comfortable in his surroundings. The management and staff have been very caring and helpful at all times. It is very reassuring to us to know that Dad is so well cared for and happy.
I currently look after the affairs of two residents in Alsley Lodge and cannot speak too highly of all the staff in the home. Their care needs and individual attention are very important to the staff and they excel in this department. The home is inviting from the start and everyone is made to feel welcome. There are lots of events organised by staff and this contributes to the happy atmosphere. Thank you.
My mother has been a resident at Alsley Lodge since June 2014, prior to that I had an aunt who was a resident from Nov 2010 to Jan 2014.
All members of staff from the manager, carers, housekeepers, chefs, maintenance man take the time to get to know the residents personally, as a result all residents are cared for with dignity, respect and in a way that is appropriate for their needs. At Alsley Lodge there is no 'one care plan suits all' philosophy.
All members of staff are friendly and approachable, and nothing ever seems too much trouble.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Alsley Lodge as a safe, caring, friendly residential home.
I am very pleased and reassured with my mother's care home she is treated with respect and is known to all the staff even by staff who are not directly involved in her care. The atmosphere is friendly and plenty of natural light.
I have always found the staff to be extremely helpful and the care for the residents is excellent. The activities arranged for the residents is very good and they all seem to enjoy. The rooms are well appointed and have good facilities.
The staff are very good they are a happy lot and get on great with my mother, they keep the place very clean and tidy. They have plenty to do if they so wish overall it is a nice place.
When I was no longer able to care for my Mum she was placed at Alsley Lodge. We had other experience of care homes and Alsley was by far the better place. The staff are compassionate and have a good sense of humour; I feel Mum is treated as an individual with care and respect. The standard of care my Mum receives is excellent. The environment is of a high standard both inside and out and the atmosphere is a positive one and I feel welcomed when I visit my Mum.
Can't describe how fantastic I have been treated since I started there as a apprenticeship carer, all the residents welcomed me in really well on my first day which I was nervous about but when I got to know every one including the staff, residents, the residents family and the manger etc I felt so at ease, because I was treated with respect and that made me want to stay. I have been there nearly a month now and I am really enjoying myself. The residents are really lovely, the chefs are amazing to get along with and they make excellent food for everyone. I can't thank enough for making me feel welcome and I would highly recommend this home to families who want to put their family in.
