Haslingden Hall is a purpose-built care home specialising in care for older people and provides 24-hour residential care, as well as complex dementia care, incorporating an active dementia strategy.

The home has been designed with the comfort, privacy and independent lifestyle choices of residents in mind. Each of the en-suite bedrooms are equipped with the latest facilities and amenities, with internet access and modern furniture and décor.

There are several warm and friendly communal spaces within the home, where social activity is encouraged and activities and events are organised. There is access to a quiet room, enjoyed by residents and their families during visits.

We have been through a horrendous few months in relation to my Mum's care and this posting is so that other people don't have to go through what we have had to endure. Today, she was "shipped out" to another care home because the manager doesn't like anyone complaining, not because they are unable to
meet her needs. Instead of resolving issues she and her management team give 28 days notice to relocate. We are aware that this has happened with other families. The Manager has advised that she doesn't respond to anything in writing nor does she respond to emails. This is the same management team that let in new residents from the hospital without testing for Covid resulting in many deaths last year, something which relatives found out about via a Facebook post believe it or not. Clearly, there are square pegs in round holes here. A recent complaint to safeguarding has been substantiated for reasons of neglect. A case is being prepared for the Ombudsman to consider.

As Mum has declined and needed more care and support I think she has been well looked after. The carers really do their best to attend to personal hygiene of my mum and her clothing. There have been a few issues with lost items due to laundry and things being moved from her room. This was dealt with
by providing a key being available so that other residents could not just walk in, and move things. The key was fixed to the door frame.
Food is of a good quality and visitors are often invited to take a meal.
The cleaning staff are excellent and also very good with the residents, taking time to speak to any they meet around the rooms.
Obviously the Lodge and Hall are in transition as improvements are being made to the rooms but it seems to be going in the right direction. At times like this, the staff and residents are having to cope with room changes but it will be beneficial in the end.
Staff are welcoming to visitors and in the main, I am satisfied with the home.

I think Haslingden Hall is a good place I think Haslingden Hall is one of the higher standard care homes in the area. The activities are good but my mum is unable to join in all of them. At present, the home is going under renovation which has been a bit upsetting but I feel confident it will get better.

Overall I’m really pleased with this care home but at the moment there is a bit of upheaval. Once the renovations are complete things will get back to normal. The staff are very approachable and friendly and helpful. The place is always clean and tidy. My mum is unable to take part in most activities
but there is always activities going on around the home. The rooms are lovely spacious and have en-suite shower rooms. We are really happy with the new food by the food company. Loving the new quiet rooms on the dementia units and can’t wait for the dementia café to open when it’s built.

My mum received end of life care here, we could not have asked for better care.
My mum and my family were treated with exceptional dignity and respect, nothing was too much trouble even though the carers were extremely busy and seemed to not stop for their whole shift. They made a sad experience much
easier to cope with by their kind words, help and hospitality. An amazing team.

The care given to my mother was very good. She was in for a few weeks respite and was very happy there. She felt safe and was very well looked after.


The staff were all very friendly and welcoming and loved having her hair done there and her nails.


We wouldn't hesitate to use this facility again.

Mum went into Haslingden Hall from hospital after a fall to recover as she could not manage on her own. It was then confirmed that she would be a permanent resident. It took a little time for Mum to settle but with the help of the friendly and caring carers helped her. Management also very helpful and
caring.

Overall experience is very good.
I feel all is being done to care for my mum.
I feel some areas of cleanliness could be better.
As I have reported a problem on a number of occasions and there is still a problem, I feel this has not been dealt with appropriately.

Since Mum moved into the care home she has settled down well with the support from all the staff and manager. The night staff are good too but one, in particular, has tattoos. My mum wanted to have one and kept asking this man carer (evening staff) so he brought in a transfer and put it on her arm.
She was thrilled to bits, also the activities coordinator (woman) is very engaging and involves residents round the table, flower arranging, tie dyeing, games or going and sitting and talking to residents. Also bringing the chickens in so residents can stroke and hold them. I am very happy with the care and support for Mum and myself.

The management and staff have been kind, compassionate, professional and helpful to both my mother and visiting family/friends. Nothing was too much trouble. The building is clean and the food excellent. My mum got great pleasure from watching the rabbits and chickens in the garden and loved chatting
with the staff.

Since the new registered manager arrived at this care home much improvement has been made. My mum has been there for 4 years 2 months and receives excellent care and attention with her personal care, meals, medication and diagnosed physical ailments and Alzheimer's. My dad was with her for 2 years until
his death in Feb 2015. Since then mum has had a bit more attention and help to aid her in coming to terms with this traumatic event. I am confident when I visit that mum will be happy, warm, and feel dignified by the care she receives. The activities are improving but it would be better if there were two coordinators. The laundry has improved over time. In general I am happy. Also communication has improved and changes to the care plan are implemented immediately.

I am very happy with the care home. I am always made very welcome when I visit the home. The care provided is excellent as are the staff. Nothing seems too much trouble for the staff. The home is very clean and cheerful with a lovely atmosphere.
