Decor on the ground floor is better than those upstairs. Mom's room could be freshened up.
Thank you for your review, we value all feedback as this helps us to make improvements where required, and your kind comments regarding our valued staff team are very much appreciated. Due to the nature of the disease, those with dementia are not always compliant when it comes to daily living habits including personal hygiene. Our staff will encourage and use learned techniques to support residents but we cannot force anyone to engage if they do not want to. Our intervention will include returning at a later time when the resident may be more willing to accept support; we would never wish to cause distress or anxiety. In regard to the décor, both units are light and airy following a full refurb and we are currently adding life stations to enhance and provide a stimulating environment. Relative meeting dates are displayed on the notice board in our front entrance and all are welcome to attend.
Thank you for your review, we value all feedback as this helps us to improve our service where required. The laundry service covers both Ferndale Court and Ferndale Mews supporting 96 Residents. Whilst some clothes have been misplaced we have been trialling a new tagging system on the nursing unit and at our last relatives meeting it was shared how improved the service has been. Subsequently, we will be rolling this out across the whole home to reduce the potential for items to go missing.
Thank you for your review, we value all feedback as this helps us to improve our service where required. Ferndale mews has recently had a recruitment drive and we have recruited over 200 hours of additional care to cover for sickness and holidays. Due to the nature of the work required in supporting people with dementia, it does take time to complete the necessary checks and undergo training. We are starting to see new staff on the units and there will be a further two staff who will join us once their checks have been completed. Each of the units has a keyworker file in place were the keyworkers record all communication with relatives as well as when Residents are supported with social interactions including having a bath, which is a therapeutic intervention. Relatives are welcome to view this; we encourage a holistic approach at Ferndale Mews and welcome any input relatives wish to make.
