Glen Tanar Residential Home is situated in a quiet residential area close to the Queen’s Promenade in Bispham. The home is convenient for a short stroll to the local shops or the promenade. The home provides care for just 21 ladies and gentlemen. The home has a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

The home has a large spacious lounge on the ground floor which is tastefully decorated with comfortable chairs. This room has a beautiful large bay window from which the residents can relax and enjoy the views of the garden and watch the passers-by. The dining room is located on the ground floor adjacent to the lounge. The lounge and dining areas are open plan which allows the residents to move easily around.

A choice of menu is available at each meal. Special diets can be catered for. Each meal is freshly prepared using only the finest ingredients. The menu is both wholesome and varied, providing a well-balanced diet.

A digital care planning system is used to create person-centred care plans for each resident. A Care App, which is part of the digital care system, enables care staff to record care notes, which automatically update charts, reports, care plans and many other features.

The bedrooms are tastefully furnished and decorated to a high standard. Residents can bring in small items of furniture and personal items to personalise their bedrooms. The home has two shower rooms fitted with facilities to make them suitable for those residents with mobility difficulties.

There is a beautiful lawned garden at the front of the home. A new decking area has recently been added to the front of the home. There is also a small enclosed garden at the rear of the home. Residents can easily access the decking area and the enclosed garden area from the lounge. During the summer months, residents like to enjoy the sunshine, a drink and socialising in the garden areas.

This, for us as a family, was a very hard decision for mum to go into a home, but on that we now know it was the best and right decision for mum.
Glen Tanar is a lovely home that not only makes mum feel at home but also welcomes and supports us as a family. All the residents in the home always have
a smile on their faces, and nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff. They go above and beyond with the outstanding care given to the residents at Glen Tanar.
Their entertainment program is outstanding, and they try to encourage all residents to be involved, which is lovely, and it is also lovely to see updates on social media when you have work commitments.
My mum has now settled and really enjoys being there, which is reassuring for the family. I also now feel that when I leave Mum, she is happy, and I know she is safe and very well looked after. I can't thank the manager and her team enough for making a very difficult decision and time as a family reassuring and lovely for our mum.

The transition of my brother moving into Glen Tanar was seamless. All the team have been absolutely amazing in supporting him (and me) along the way.
The support provided in every element has been outstanding. Everyone has gone out of their way to make him feel included and part of the Glen Tanar family.
He's enjoying the food and company. Being here has hugely enhanced his quality of life. Thank you.

My mother has now been at Glen Tanar for over 3 years. She is extremely well cared for and enjoys participating in the activities that are provided; she has even learned how to use an electronic tablet! She recently had to visit A&E and the team ensured she was accompanied at all times whilst she waited
to see a doctor.
Her room is kept to an immaculate condition and she enjoys the meals provided.
I am very grateful to all the staff for the care provided, it certainly gives me peace of mind.

The warmth of the welcome we receive as visitors is exceptional, and it is absolutely clear how much the staff care for everyone, it's a wonderfully friendly place, and my mum loves it. The food is first class (better than a previous care home according to my mum!), and the bedrooms are lovely and comfortable.

This care home is excellent, the staff are so caring and fun. The communication with management is clear and helpful. Mother-in-law is so happy and loves the staff and the interaction with all the residents too. There is always a great atmosphere in the home, but it's also very professional too.

Glen Tanar has been the right choice of care home for my Aunt. She has been a resident for several years and during this time the care she has received has been excellent. The staff is hardworking, tentative towards my Aunt, and caring. They are all extremely approachable and will help with whatever
needs you require. My aunt has been extremely happy and gets on well with all the staff. Management is fantastic. I can't fault this care home and would highly recommend it.

Such lovely staff, so very kind to my mum and so very kind to us when we visit. Staff go out of their way to make sure Mum is comfortable. Staff take time to contact us regularly as we live such a long way from Mum, they make sure we are updated and make it easy to visit whenever it suits us.

We were hesitant about putting Mum into full-time care as she has always been with family. However, the management and staff have been so welcoming and give full disclosure.

We came to view Glenn Tanar when my Dad was in another home we weren't happy with. We loved it immediately. We had to wait a few weeks for a place to become available, now he is in Glenn Tanar we are delighted with the experience for Dad. It's such a relief for him to be in a happy home where he is
entertained and treated with dignity. I can't speak highly enough of the ream here, who have made him (and us) feel very welcome.

My mother was a resident, or should I say part of the 'Glen Tanar family', from March 2022 until the end of October 2022 when she sadly passed away. As soon as she moved in I knew instantly this was the right home for her. All of the staff were so friendly and welcoming, there was just a lovely vibe
about the place, everyone, residents and staff, seemed happy and there was always so much laughter. During her stay at Glen Tanar, my mother was cared for to the very highest standard and with such love and attention, nothing was too much for the staff. We were always welcomed very warmly and encouraged to see Mum whenever we wanted no matter what time of day or night. This home is just a class above all the other care homes I've had dealings with. I really could not have wished for a better place for my mum to be, it's an amazing home. I can't thank the manager and all her wonderful staff enough for the unwavering care and compassion they showed my mum. Thank you.

I looked around for a care home for Dad when he was poorly back in May 2022. I live in Cornwall so not able to be there. Glen Tanar sounded just right from the telephone calls we had. This proved to be the case from the moment he was admitted into their care. He was quite poorly initially and they recognised
this straight away and contacted the GP. From then on they had the perfect mix of care and understanding of Dad's need to keep his independence. I will be forever grateful for the kindness and caring they showed him and me when I came to visit. They encouraged all the things Dad enjoyed and the staff went above and beyond to make his stay with them a positive one. He achieved his goal by going into rehab and then home where he is now. This would not have happened if it had not been for the professional care and attention he received at Glen Tanar. Thank you to all the staff, a great team led by the manager.

My mum has been a resident for 18 months. After an initial reluctance to accept care, she settled in well.
She is content and happy. She had made friends and we have seen a huge improvement in her well being. The precautions and care during the pandemic were excellent.
My mum is not the easiest of
people but the staff treat her with patience, kindness and humour.
