Glen Tanar Residential Home is situated in a quiet residential area close to the Queen’s Promenade in Bispham. The home is convenient for a short stroll to the local shops or the promenade. The home provides care for just 21 ladies and gentlemen. The home has a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

The home has a large spacious lounge on the ground floor which is tastefully decorated with comfortable chairs. This room has a beautiful large bay window from which the residents can relax and enjoy the views of the garden and watch the passers-by. The dining room is located on the ground floor adjacent to the lounge. The lounge and dining areas are open plan which allows the residents to move easily around.

A choice of menu is available at each meal. Special diets can be catered for. Each meal is freshly prepared using only the finest ingredients. The menu is both wholesome and varied, providing a well-balanced diet.

A digital care planning system is used to create person-centred care plans for each resident. A Care App, which is part of the digital care system, enables care staff to record care notes, which automatically update charts, reports, care plans and many other features.

The bedrooms are tastefully furnished and decorated to a high standard. Residents can bring in small items of furniture and personal items to personalise their bedrooms. The home has two shower rooms fitted with facilities to make them suitable for those residents with mobility difficulties.

There is a beautiful lawned garden at the front of the home. A new decking area has recently been added to the front of the home. There is also a small enclosed garden at the rear of the home. Residents can easily access the decking area and the enclosed garden area from the lounge. During the summer months, residents like to enjoy the sunshine, a drink and socialising in the garden areas.

The staff all seem very helpful and friendly. Nothing seems too much trouble for them. It is a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, a true 'home from home'. I viewed many care homes prior to my father being admitted to the Glen Tanar, I narrowed it down to this one and another which are both owned by the
same people.

My friend has had to go into the home as she was in a bad way, but I am very pleased to say she is almost back to normal. I have worked in many nursing homes as a carer, but this home is the best I've been in. It's a joy to visit, they make you very welcome at all times, nothing is too much trouble.
I would give it 100%.

My mum's been in the care home for the last year and she loves every minute of it. She could not be in a better place, with all the love care and affection that is given by the manger and all her staff is beyond their call of duty. I could not fault this home in anyway and home is what it is.

This rest home is as close as you can get to be a home from home.
The Manager has given me the will to live.
All the staff have help me in one way or another.
I am now getting stronger because of the way they help me.
The room are adequate for what you need.
I FEEL LIKE WE ARE ALL ONE BIG FAMILY.
