Very homely, patience and understanding with every resident. Extremely caring. Immaculately clean. Nothing too much trouble. Always keep me informed if anything untoward with my mum, ie. taken ill.

This is an amazing care home, the service users are all one big happy family. The staff attend to their needs with dignity, respect and the care home is clean, bright and fresh. Every day is different, full of fun, laughter, activities and an amazing menu - well looked after. Thank you to the manager and the team.

My mum has been in Glen Tanar for nearly 2 years now, and I can honestly say she has never been happier. It more of a home than a "home " if you get what I mean. The staff are amazing! They go the extra mile for all residents, and the home is kept continuously spotless! Can't praise Glen Tanar enough.

It’s so hard to express in words how grateful we are to have found Glen Tanar. My dad was in Glen Tanar a couple of years ago but then sadly passed away. We have been so fortunate to find a room for our mum there just when she reached the point where she needed extra support. All the staff are so lovely, so kind and so professional. It makes a huge difference when you know your mum is being cared for with kindness and compassion. By looking after Mum, they’re looking after our whole family. Thank you, everyone at Glen Tanar.

My Mum has been a resident for over two years now, I feel the staff are very caring and loving towards her, they are all very supportive and friendly. I would definitely recommend the rest of the home. Through lockdown, they have still kept in touch with photos and even a video when I go to the window to wave, they all come and chat to me. For me, it is peace of mind knowing my Mum is being taken care of extremely well. Thank you all so much for looking after my wonderful Mum.

Glen Tanar is like a family home so welcoming nothing is too much trouble, staff are excellent, friendly, caring always available to answer any questions you have or any problems. All the residents seem happy love going and chatting with them all, everyone looks out for each other. The food always looks lovely and we are welcome to eat with our loved ones if we wish. Mum has settled very well here, she is happy, looked after and safe which is what everyone wants for their loved ones. The home is well managed by a lady who goes above and beyond her role. Always there to listen and to reassure us if we have any concerns, available at any time if you need to speak to her. Would I recommend Glen Tanar to anyone looking for a place for their relatives - absolutely 100% . Couldn't ask for anywhere better for my Mum.

My mum enjoys all aspects of living here. She is cared for with dignity and respect and staff are always there to help. Since lockdown they have made my mum feel safe and secure and have uploaded videos and pictures as well as giving us unlimited access to video chats. Thank you for all you do.

When Mum went into hospital it was decided Mum needed 24/7 care and no longer able to live on her own, especially at night. She was at risk of falling. I was very apprehensive about placing Mum in a home, but we have found the perfect home, which caters for every need. She loves it. All staff are respectful and courteous to residents. Lots of activities going on. Mum loves going to the seafront for ice cream. Their wishes are catered for when possible. A well-led team.

I am very happy with the care my mother receives, all her needs are met and she is extremely happy and settled. The care home provides activities including parties monthly and she has been on 3 holidays with the care home. My mother has been in this care home for nearly 2 years and has improved in her mental health as she is no longer lonely, I am completely satisfied that all her needs will continue to be met if she remains at the same level of care.

I visited my friend in this care home. The staff were very friendly on arrival and were all very good to the residents. I knew my friend was in good hands. Everyone that we saw was very polite, very helpful and always looking around paying close attention to the residents. There was one lady that was particularly attentive. Overall a very nice secure home.

I don't like snack lunches. Just because one resident is so slow with breakfast, everyone has to suffer. Some food is very nice - no complaints. Lacking morning tea and afternoon drink.

Reply from Pamela Mathauda, Director at Glen Tanar

It was agreed at a residents meeting that the residents would like a smaller meal at lunch time and a larger meal at tea time. A main course and a pudding are provided at both meal times. Drinks are provided throughout the day. We have a host of activities on offer which residents are free to participate in or not.
