Glen Tanar Residential Home is situated in a quiet residential area close to the Queen’s Promenade in Bispham. The home is convenient for a short stroll to the local shops or the promenade. The home provides care for just 21 ladies and gentlemen. The home has a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

The home has a large spacious lounge on the ground floor which is tastefully decorated with comfortable chairs. This room has a beautiful large bay window from which the residents can relax and enjoy the views of the garden and watch the passers-by. The dining room is located on the ground floor adjacent to the lounge. The lounge and dining areas are open plan which allows the residents to move easily around.

A choice of menu is available at each meal. Special diets can be catered for. Each meal is freshly prepared using only the finest ingredients. The menu is both wholesome and varied, providing a well-balanced diet.

A digital care planning system is used to create person-centred care plans for each resident. A Care App, which is part of the digital care system, enables care staff to record care notes, which automatically update charts, reports, care plans and many other features.

The bedrooms are tastefully furnished and decorated to a high standard. Residents can bring in small items of furniture and personal items to personalise their bedrooms. The home has two shower rooms fitted with facilities to make them suitable for those residents with mobility difficulties.

There is a beautiful lawned garden at the front of the home. A new decking area has recently been added to the front of the home. There is also a small enclosed garden at the rear of the home. Residents can easily access the decking area and the enclosed garden area from the lounge. During the summer months, residents like to enjoy the sunshine, a drink and socialising in the garden areas.

My dad was admitted first for respite on really short notice. My dad has, fortunately, been lucky enough to now stay here permanently. The staff are extremely helpful, caring and very welcoming. Nothing is ever too much, thank you for everything you do. I would highly recommend this care home.

My brother has been a resident at Glen Tanar for four years and is very happy there and well cared for. Particular praise should be given to the excellent, cheerful staff who are more like family than carers. Visiting is encouraged and family and friends of residents are welcome any time. During the last thirty months, the management and staff of Glen Tanar have cared with love and respect for my dad and mum. It is never easy to move parents from their familiar surroundings into a home but moving them into Glen Tanar felt from day one like moving Dad and Mum into a home from home. Covid-19
has not made the last two years easy but the Glen Tanar team has risen to the challenge and continues to provide love and care to all their residents as well as supporting relatives, in this case my sister and I, with information and support throughout. The whole team are fantastic and I cannot thank them enough or suggest anything they could do better. I wholeheartedly recommended Glen Tanar, its management and staff. Thank you all.

Mum moved into Glen Tanar two weeks ago. All members of staff are friendly and attentive, the atmosphere within the home is warm and caring and we have seen a significant improvement in Mum's physical and emotional well-being. She is relaxed and happy.
As a family, we have also been warmly welcomed
and pop in to see Mum or take her out whenever we wish to.
Mum's room is warm, cosy and very clean. Within a day all her personal pictures were put up and her environment has been made homely.
We can’t thank all involved in Mum's move and care enough.

Such a warm welcoming home. The manager was very helpful and knowledgeable. We met the maintenance manager who was delightful and all of the staff members who we spoke to were so helpful and lovely.
My nan can be looking over the sea as it's a stone throw from the beach.

My nan moved into Glen Tanar during Covid in July 2020 which was a very scary time for myself and my family as we were unsure if this was the right choice, as we wanted to ensure that she would be safe during the pandemic. However, the manager and the staff have been amazing and have kept her safe and
well. Although we could only see her through the window or in the pod, we were reassured that she was happy and receiving excellent care and support.
The home is a warm, loving and welcoming environment, I could not have picked a better home for my nan.
I highly recommend Glen Tanar for your loved ones and can't thank them enough for all their support.
You truly are superheroes.

Both of my parents currently reside at Glen Tanar Care Home. The staff support each of them with their very different needs with both compassion and dignity. They are helped to live their lives safely and comfortably in warm and pleasant surroundings. They are supported with all medical and personal
appointments.
They were both very reluctant to move into a care home and both my brother and I tried very hard to keep them in their own home but, when the decision was taken out of our hands, the support offered by the manager and staff helped us all make the transition as smooth as possible.

My father-in-law moved here from a home that had been placed in special measures. The manager and her team of staff cannot do enough for him and our family. My father-in-law's mobility was poor as he was kept in a wheelchair a lot of the time however, he’s been allowed to walk around which has helped
his mobility.

We placed our friend in Glen Tanar as we were told how nice it was. Since the introduction to Glen Tana we've noticed in the short time she's been there she has put weight on, she's a lot happier in herself, she loves it mixing with the residents, and also found that the staff are very caring and understanding
therefore highly satisfied with the placement.

My mother was a resident here for the last 3 years of her life and she was very happy all the time she was there. Mum had a good rapport with the staff and other residents, she never wanted to go anywhere but Glen Tanar when she decided she didn't want to live on her own anymore. Towards the end when
she was poorly she did not want to go into hospital, she had a good life at 93 and wanted it to end in her home. The manager and staff were excellent at the end, so caring.

My mum has been in Glen Tanar for nearly 2 years now, and I can honestly say she has never been happier. It more of a home than a "home " if you get what I mean. The staff are amazing! They go the extra mile for all residents, and the home is kept continuously spotless! Can't praise Glen Tanar enough.
