Mother passed away this month. Thank you to all the staff at Pennystone Court for all the love and care that you gave her. We know that Mum felt safe and well looked after at Pennystone. The time we spent at Mum's bedside in her final days really showed us just how hard you all work and how good you
are with the residents. We observed just how skilful, patient and supportive you all are. It's not just the frontline carers but all the admin, kitchen, cleaners, laundry and maintenance people. The chaplain was also very comforting. It's no wonder you deservedly won an award for best dementia home in the UK. Thank you.

The care my mum has received at Pennystone Court over the last 3 1/2 years has been excellent. The staff are amazing, kind and cheerful. No matter the situation they engage with all residents and all activities, providing stimulation and enjoyment daily. The home is comfortable, clean and well-maintained.
The food is really good. I feel comfortable in the knowledge that my mum is safe and extremely well looked after, and loved by all the staff.

It was a very hard decision for us as a family to place our wonderful mum into care. Pennystone Court has been wonderful. The care of the staff there has been amazing. They love our mum and she loves them, and she tells them all the time! It was the worst time to do it, for everyone, but they have kept

The care and attention my mum received at Pennystone Court is second to none. The staff provide excellent care and undivided attention. The meals are varied and of good quality. My mum has been very happy during her time here and I feel her care needs have been met and the standard of care provided

Dad became a resident at Pennystone Court after a spell in hospital. From the first day, he was made to feel welcome and we, as his family, were too. The manager and all of the carers are totally professional, efficient and so very caring. We feel happy that Dad is in the right place where his needs
are recognised and he is treated as part of the Pennystone family.

The quality of care at Pennystone Court is unbeatable. The staff are incredibly compassionate and committed to giving the residents the best care possible, and regularly go above and beyond. I cannot express what a weight it has been off my mind to know that my grandmother is in their care, particularly
during recent lockdowns, when in-person visits haven't been possible. Every member of staff cares for the residents as though they are a member of their own family, and their compassion extends to residents' family members too - there is a wonderful sense of community. The team at Pennystone work hard to ensure the residents live happy, fulfilled and enriched lives, and the activities coordinator does a wonderful job of planning activities for them. The home itself is a welcoming and very comfortable environment, with fantastic resources and beautiful gardens, which we have appreciated all the more during outdoor visits while social distancing restrictions have been in place.

My grandma has been here in the most difficult time due to covid. She has settled in amazingly well due to the time, effort and care from all the staff. Between the family, we all speak to her on the phone every day and she is always full of praise for the girls. Thank you, everyone!

My friend's mum lives at Pennystone Court and has done for about 3 years. Each time I have visited I have been mightily impressed not just with the actual home but the staff are the most caring, patient and lovely people. The residents all seem really happy and nothing appears to be too much trouble.
It is clean and very well maintained with beautiful gardens and a lovely homely atmosphere. If ever I find myself in the same position I would love to live in a home just like this.

It is a lovely care home with an I.T. room which is very useful for keeping in contact. There is also a relaxation room for the people living there to use. The staff are always caring and willing to help.

Mum has been in Pennystone Court for just over a year now. My sister and I can’t praise the staff highly enough as everyone, no matter what their position, goes the extra mile in looking after her and making sure she is happy. Pennystone Court has become a real home for mum and its staff her family,
and they feel like our family, too, as they care for how we feel and do their utmost to alleviate any worries we might have. The home itself is cosy with a wonderfully happy atmosphere. The staff have all worked so hard throughout the pandemic, always coming up with new ideas to keep the residents entertained. We shall be eternally grateful to them all for caring for our mum as much as we do and for giving us peace of mind, knowing that she couldn’t be in a better place.

Following an illness and a stay in hospital last year, it was decided that mum wasn’t able to look after herself at home because of her Parkinson’s Disease. Pennystone Court was the obvious choice for us because they had looked after Dad previously. Mum was very unsettled for the first couple of weeks
but with the care and the love of all the staff, she soon settled in and became very happy. I cannot thank the staff enough. Knowing mum was safe and well looked after, meant a lot to us. Their dedication and hard work is outstanding, especially during these difficult times, when family and friends are unable to visit. Pennystone Court has a warm friendly atmosphere which makes it feel really homely, unlike some other care homes. Unfortunately, mum now needs nursing care, so the difficult decision was made to move her into a nursing home. Thank you Pennystone for everything you’ve done for mum, keep up the excellent work.

The staff at Pennystone Court are doing an amazing job in these unprecedented times. My friend is being looked after amazingly well, nothing seems too much trouble for them. The home are still doing activities daily and have a chaplain available on site which is very important to my friend's spiritual
needs. The management are very knowledgeable, caring and understanding and I would recommend this home to anybody needing residential or dementia care.

I cannot thank all the team at Pennystone Court enough for the excellent care they are providing for my father who has Alzheimer's disease. It took some time for my father to settle but he was treated with care, compassion and patience and is now calm and settled. He loves helping out in the lovely
gardens and thoroughly enjoys the music sessions.

Under these most demanding times, the staff at Pennystone Court have remained calm, dedicated and caring to all their residents. They have managed self-distancing visits in the garden when allowed and communicated with families and friends of residents at all times. I felt and knew during my first visit
to this care home that it was the right place for my Mum and believe I had looked at many previously in my area. If I could I would give my Mum a loving hug followed by a truly heartfelt hug to the wonderful staff at Pennystone Court.

I'd like to applaud the amazing Pennystone staff for all their hard work and dedication during the most stressful and dangerous time of most of our lives Mum is very happy and well looked after; that's all a daughter could wish for.
However, I do feel that the recent price increase was extreme.

My sister has been a resident for 10-years. Until the coronavirus outbreak, I visited her at least twice a week. Her dementia is now very advanced. The care she has received has been outstanding at all stages. Every member of staff has treated her with the utmost respect and love, and constantly pop
in to check on her. Activities - her condition is now so poor she is unable to partake in group activities, as she used to.

Elizabeth (Lisa) Robins

Lisa Robins is the Home Manager at MHA Pennystone Court and has been part of the MHA family for eight years. With over 25 years of experience in the care sector, Lisa brings a wealth of leadership knowledge to her role, underpinned by qualifications including a Level 5 ILM, RMA, NVQ Level 3, and a Diploma in Nursing Studies.


Before joining MHA, Lisa held senior roles as an Operations Manager for a group of care homes and as an Operations Lead in domiciliary home care. Her lifelong commitment to the sector has been shaped by a passion for excellence in dementia care.


Lisa is especially proud of Pennystone Court’s achievements in this area—the home was named Best Dementia Care Home in the UK (2022), and Lisa herself received the Best Registered Manager (UK) award in 2024. Under her leadership, the home continues to thrive as a vibrant, person-centred community.


She is also incredibly proud of the home’s fundraising efforts, which have raised over £18,000 to create specialist facilities, including an IT room, on-site caravan, sensory room, wellbeing space, and even a shop. Lisa leads with energy, compassion, and a belief that every resident should feel empowered, supported, and at home.
