Bedrooms are all en-suite and enjoy views of the landscaped gardens, including Joyce’s Garden and a sensory space with herbs, wildlife, and a summer house. When entering Pennystone Court, it feels very clean and welcoming. We have always found the staff very caring and thoughtful, and we are kept informed of our mother's care and well being. There are many activities to take part in or to watch. The food is excellent, all homemade by the wonderful chefs.
Our mum could not be anywhere better than Pennystone Court.

Mum's needs are very well catered for. Al staff are lovely with her and care bout her needs. There are varied environments for her to spend time in, lounge, dining room, bedroom, gardens. She can choose to have her meals in her own room instead of the dining room whe she desires.

My father moved to Pennystone five weeks ago, without exception they have been friendly and helpful to dad and our family. Dad has settled in more quickly than we could have hoped for. He is very happy with the accommodation and the helpful staff. Our family now has the confidence and peace of mind

I visit my mother 2 or 3 times a week and all the staff, the manager, carers and cleaners are always very welcoming and helpful. The standard of cleanliness throughout is excellent and the overall atmosphere of the home is a happy one. I know that my mother is being well looked after and safe, in fact,
she often tells me how lucky she is.

What makes this home special and worthy of this overall excellent review is due to the way that all the staff treat residents with dignity and care for their needs. This starts with the managers who set the high standard expected from the staff. The staff are always available to talk to if I have any
concerns. The food is good and varied and the activities arranged to provide stimulation and social interaction.

Both of my in-laws are residents in Pennystone. I have not seen them so happy for a very long time. On my frequent visits, they always mention how settled they are, how good the food is and how well looked after they feel.


The monthly magazine keeps residents and family up to date with all the activities,

of which there are many, and events during the previous weeks and also the coming month.


Staff are friendly, courteous and show an all-round awareness of my in-laws' individual needs. They are polite and professional and always welcoming. The manager is always available to discuss anything with regard to my in-laws and shows a genuine interest in their well being.


A huge weight has been taken from the family’s shoulders and we are so happy we chose Pennystone for the care of our nearest and dearest. Visiting them is now an enjoyable and social occasion and joining them at events and activities is an absolute pleasure!

My cousin has settled into Pennystone Court very quickly and feels at home. This is largely due to the excellent staff and facilities. She enjoys the food and activities. Her room is comfortable and clean. I have no worries about leaving her in their care. Whenever I visit I am greeted with a smile

The management and staff at Pennystone Court have worked hard to ensure an easy transition from a care home that could not meet my father’s needs. A detailed care plan has been documented and delivered and any issues he has presented have been resolved with great skill and care.
The home is bright
and clean with spacious en-suite bedrooms. There are several areas for residents and visitors to sit and lovely gardens created for people with dementia.
The specialist chefs make fresh appetizing meals throughout the day and cakes for afternoon tea.
The activities are varied and engaging and visits from local school children and entertainers make each day interesting.
My father is responding very well in his new home due to the friendly and supportive staff and the loving family atmosphere.
Having experience of several homes in the area, my family would not hesitate to recommend Pennystone Court.

I am absolutely thrilled with the care my mum has received from Pennystone. From day one until now, the staff have been amazing. They cannot do enough for you. The catering staff give the personal touch by always asking what she would like, even making smoothies!
I visit other homes to visit people
and have never come across care like this. Even all the washing is done in separate machines so nothing ever goes missing. 10 out of 10.

I cannot rate Pennystone Court highly enough. Quite simply it is an outstanding home, run by outstanding carers and a superb leadership team. At a time when my mother's ongoing care is of utmost importance, I have trust in Pennystone Court and they have not let me and my family down. I rate them as
excellent across the board and every time I visit my decision is reinforced: wonderful, caring people, providing a personal service which has my mum's care at heart. I would recommend without hesitation.

Lisa Robins is the Home Manager at MHA Pennystone Court and has been part of the MHA family for eight years. With over 25 years of experience in the care sector, Lisa brings a wealth of leadership knowledge to her role, underpinned by qualifications including a Level 5 ILM, RMA, NVQ Level 3, and a Diploma in Nursing Studies.


Before joining MHA, Lisa held senior roles as an Operations Manager for a group of care homes and as an Operations Lead in domiciliary home care. Her lifelong commitment to the sector has been shaped by a passion for excellence in dementia care.


Lisa is especially proud of Pennystone Court’s achievements in this area—the home was named Best Dementia Care Home in the UK (2022), and Lisa herself received the Best Registered Manager (UK) award in 2024. Under her leadership, the home continues to thrive as a vibrant, person-centred community.


She is also incredibly proud of the home’s fundraising efforts, which have raised over £18,000 to create specialist facilities, including an IT room, on-site caravan, sensory room, wellbeing space, and even a shop. Lisa leads with energy, compassion, and a belief that every resident should feel empowered, supported, and at home.
