Dearne Valley Care Centre, based close to the former South Yorkshire mining communities of Bolton upon Dearne and Goldthorpe, is a purpose-built care centre.

Here at Dearne Valley, 34 beds are offered over two floors catering for residential and dementia care. It offers a warm and welcoming environment.
It has a dedicated team of staff with a wealth of experience within this sector.

All strive for high-quality person-centred care adding value to enhance the wellbeing of all of residents in a friendly and homely setting.

All the catering is locally sourced and freshly home cooked, with a varied menu, catering for all dietary requirements.The team of catering staff put together a daily menu for services users that considers their personal tastes, religious beliefs, conditions and any specific dietary requirements. All meals are healthy, well balanced and enjoyable.

There is an activities coordinator within the home, who welcomes the local community. Care and activity plans are based around the individual, supporting and encouraging service users to be fulfilled.

It has its own bar which has been designed and named by residents and extended families. The residents and team welcome you all to BAR35.

Staff offer support for bariatric clients within the home. Respite, palliative care and day care are available.

The CQC report in April 2017 grades the home "Good" in all five areas.

Our mum has been at Dearne Valley Care Centre since June 2023. We have found the quality of care to be wonderful. The staff are extremely caring and attentive to our Mum's needs. The home is very well-run and extremely clean. We have recommended Dearne Valley to other families.

My sister is very happy and content in this care home. She knows she is safe and very well acted for, and is also loving the food.
The staff I have seen during my many visits have been brilliant.
Nothing is too much trouble for them.

My dad was cared for with compassion and love. All the care staff and management were excellent with dad and he thought a lot about them. They were caring and respectful to him and his family. They made the last days of his life as comfortable as they were able to.

We approached Dearne Valley Care Centre in May 2022, they immediately contacted us back. We were shown the room Dad would be given, it had been decorated with all-new furniture. He had many of his belongings to personalise. The staff have been 100% caring, approachable, polite and extremely kind. Dad
spent his last months at the home, he was happy, which made us feel he received the best care given. Great staff, at the end of Dad's life they could not give us enough support. At the very end, the support was extremely great.

Overall the care centre is excellent. My mum's room is one of the larger ones and has everything she needs. She says the bed is very comfortable. The meals she says she has are varied and she enjoys everything on offer. The security of the building is excellent and my mum feels secure. Drinks are provided
on a regular basis, either tea or coffee, and during the very hot spell cold drinks and ice lollies were offered. All the staff are very friendly and at the moment working very hard as they appear to be short staffed. At the moment they are advertising for an activities coordinator so very few activities are taking place at the the moment. I am confident my mum will enjoy staying here.

I'm happy with this care home. Every room is clean and tidy. I've no complaints at all. Food seems excellent, a good variety too. Staff very friendly and very caring. I've no reservations about my mum staying here. Thank you.

My dad has only recently joined Dearne Valley Care Centre. He has settled very well and feels safe. The services Dearne Valley provide are very good. I am unable to comment on any activities yet as he has not been there very long. On the whole, I'm extremely happy with the home, staff and facilities
they provide. The staff are brilliant and understanding.

Although my wife has only been in Dearne Valley Care Centre for two weeks, we have found her to be much more relaxed and content. The staff we have encountered have shown genuine care and concern for my wife's welfare. The home is very clean, tidy and comfortable. My wife appears to be enjoying all

Mum is being very well looked after following a spell in hospital, resulting in Mum's change of needs.
My only concern is that Mum is in bed all the time, as there is no suitable chair for her to sit in with support. There is still no activities coordinator for stimulation.

My mother went into the home as an end-of-life resident. She was there exactly two weeks before she passed away. The staff there were totally amazing. They were considerate, kind, attentive and caring at all times to both my mother and all her relatives that attended. They constantly asked how we were,
gave us hot drinks and acted on our concerns when they arose. I cannot thank the staff enough for everything they did, words cannot describe how we feel about the care given. Many, many thanks to a wonderful, outstanding home and staff.

The care of our mother, grandma and great-grandma was second to none! She was in the best place she could be for us as a family. They are a gem in the community. She was only there for four weeks but her end of life was with the people who she loved to be caring for her and we are so grateful for that.

My father was very reluctant initially, however since being here he's expressed he should have done it sooner. This is probably down to the staff and their care, dedication, empathy, understanding and professionalism. The home is extremely clean, comfortable, light and airy with a lovely garden area.

The staff at Dearne Valley Care Centre have shown an outstanding level of care and understanding towards me since my arrival at the home. They have helped me to settle into a lovely room, providing an exceptional level of kindness. The kitchen provides beautiful home-cooked meals each day using a variety
of fresh produce meals, meals are well presented and of excellent quality. The staff's knowledge, kindness, compassion and understanding of each service user are second to none.

Mum is really settled and feels well looked after and safe. All the staff are really caring and nothing is too much if I need anything. The care home is always spotless as are the rooms. Although I cannot review all the carers working in the home, there was one particular carer who was very abrupt with me and mum with a could not care less attitude. If this is an example of the standards of the caring then I was not impressed. Suffice to say mum will not be staying here ever again!
Mum also relayed to me verbal abuse towards her. Disgraceful.
