Dearne Valley Care Centre

The staff at Dearne Valley Care Centre have shown an outstanding level of care and understanding towards me since my arrival at the home. They have helped me to settle into a lovely room, providing an exceptional level of kindness. The kitchen provides beautiful home-cooked meals each day using a variety of fresh produce meals, meals are well presented and of excellent quality. The staff's knowledge, kindness, compassion and understanding of each service user are second to none.

Mum is really settled and feels well looked after and safe. All the staff are really caring and nothing is too much if I need anything. The care home is always spotless as are the rooms. I feel extremely happy that my mum is well looked after and cared for. I would really recommend Dearne Valley Care Centre.

Although I cannot review all the carers working in the home, there was one particular carer who was very abrupt with me and mum with a could not care less attitude. If this is an example of the standards of the caring then I was not impressed. Suffice to say mum will not be staying here ever again! Mum also relayed to me verbal abuse towards her. Disgraceful.

I am very pleased with the care my mother received whilst a resident at Dearne Valley Care Centre. I believe this extended her life beyond what we were expecting. The staff are always kind and courteous and treat Mum with respect. Mum enjoyed the craft activities she was involved in and loved it when animals were brought in to meet the residents. The care provided by the staff was excellent which put my mind at ease knowing that Mum was in a safe place and being looked after well. Thank you.

I have no complaints about Dearne Valley Care Centre, they looked after my mother very, very well. All the staff are friendly and helpful. They provide lots of entertainment and activities. They are very caring about the residents, day and night.

I find them to be totally professional in all aspects of care.

My father-in-law was looked after in this care home for four and a half years. His care was exemplary, especially as he was not always an easy chap to look after. He was looked after with care, kindness and patience. My husband and I cannot thank the staff enough for their support during his time there and in the last few days of his life. Thank you.

Not always informed about medical problems.

From the first conversation and first visit, I felt comfortable and reassured that Dearne Valley Care Centre was the right care home. The home is clean, spacious and well equipped and has a very calming feel about it. All the staff have shown kindness and compassion during a very difficult time and are all very friendly and approachable. My mum has settled very well and enjoys the food and surroundings, even though it was a difficult decision to make, I feel reassured that she is well cared for 24/7.

My friend was admitted as she had cancer throughout her body and was in great pain. The staff we dealt with, mainly the senior carers, were absolutely fantastic. Actually, I should say every single staff member was excellent. The care, attention and professionalism were excellent. She could not have asked for anything more. Nothing was too much trouble for them. I am very grateful to them.

I have worked 35 years managing care homes and as an inspector for CSCI until retiring. All I can say is I wish I had my mum in this home a long time ago. The care provided is first-class, staff at all levels are professional, respectful and caring. I have a lot to compare it to and this home is at the top of my list of the best. I thank all the staff for the wonderful care given to my mum, she has been so happy since moving in there.

Unfortunately, my mother passed away in October 2020; her last 20 months were spent at Dearne Valley. I would just like to take this opportunity to say a massive thank you. The care of my mum was exemplary, especially the team upstairs caring for residents with dementia. The love and care given in mum's final days was brilliant and very touching. I can't thank the home enough for how they looked after her for this final phase of her life. The care staff are simply magnificent.

My mother could not have been in better hands. Nothing was too much trouble. Her care was first-class in every respect. No praise is worthy enough to celebrate the staff at Dearne Valley Care home. They were all magnificent in every respect. Thank you for everything that you did for my mother.

Friendly staff and management, they look after my dad very well.

I had previous connections to this nursing home as my father was looked after here and because his care was at such a high standard and my relationship with the staff was excellent I obviously chose it for my mother when she needed 24-hour care. On arrival, she was in a terrible state after having a hip replacement and operation for a bleed on the brain. She came from the hospital not mobile and had lost a lot of weight. After being here for a short while she is now mobile and has put on weight. It's the best she has been thanks to the nursing home.
