Dearne Valley Care Centre, based close to the former South Yorkshire mining communities of Bolton upon Dearne and Goldthorpe, is a purpose-built care centre.

Here at Dearne Valley, 34 beds are offered over two floors catering for residential and dementia care. It offers a warm and welcoming environment.
It has a dedicated team of staff with a wealth of experience within this sector.

All strive for high-quality person-centred care adding value to enhance the wellbeing of all of residents in a friendly and homely setting.

All the catering is locally sourced and freshly home cooked, with a varied menu, catering for all dietary requirements.The team of catering staff put together a daily menu for services users that considers their personal tastes, religious beliefs, conditions and any specific dietary requirements. All meals are healthy, well balanced and enjoyable.

There is an activities coordinator within the home, who welcomes the local community. Care and activity plans are based around the individual, supporting and encouraging service users to be fulfilled.

It has its own bar which has been designed and named by residents and extended families. The residents and team welcome you all to BAR35.

Staff offer support for bariatric clients within the home. Respite, palliative care and day care are available.

The CQC report in April 2017 grades the home "Good" in all five areas.

My mum was 90 on Valentine’s Day on Monday.
The staff at the home made this a special day by providing a lovely seating area for a small group of us to attend and celebrate together. In addition, a selection of sandwiches was provided and a lovely cake including plates, cups and knives.
Whilst Mum
will quickly forget the day all those attending will not and are very grateful for everything that was done on the day and in preparation.
This is an excellent example of how the management and staff treat the residents and take pride in providing the best care possible.

I am very pleased with the care my mother received whilst a resident at Dearne Valley Care Centre. I believe this extended her life beyond what we were expecting. The staff are always kind and courteous and treat Mum with respect. Mum enjoyed the craft activities she was involved in and loved it when
animals were brought in to meet the residents. The care provided by the staff was excellent which put my mind at ease knowing that Mum was in a safe place and being looked after well. Thank you.

I have no complaints about Dearne Valley Care Centre, they looked after my mother very, very well. All the staff are friendly and helpful. They provide lots of entertainment and activities. They are very caring about the residents, day and night.

My grandfather spent four and a half years in this care home and throughout his stay received nothing but the best care. The home is clean and spacious and has a very comfortable feel. All staff were kind and caring.
During my grandfather's last few days the staff showed nothing but kindness and
compassion to not only my grandfather but also us as a family. We could not have asked for any more from them.
I would highly recommend this care home.

My father-in-law was looked after in this care home for four and a half years. His care was exemplary, especially as he was not always an easy chap to look after. He was looked after with care, kindness and patience. My husband and I cannot thank the staff enough for their support during his time there
and in the last few days of his life. Thank you.

From the first conversation and first visit, I felt comfortable and reassured that Dearne Valley Care Centre was the right care home. The home is clean, spacious and well equipped and has a very calming feel about it. All the staff have shown kindness and compassion during a very difficult time and
are all very friendly and approachable. My mum has settled very well and enjoys the food and surroundings, even though it was a difficult decision to make, I feel reassured that she is well cared for 24/7.

My friend was admitted as she had cancer throughout her body and was in great pain. The staff we dealt with, mainly the senior carers, were absolutely fantastic. Actually, I should say every single staff member was excellent. The care, attention and professionalism were excellent. She could not have
asked for anything more. Nothing was too much trouble for them. I am very grateful to them.

I have worked 35 years managing care homes and as an inspector for CSCI until retiring. All I can say is I wish I had my mum in this home a long time ago. The care provided is first-class, staff at all levels are professional, respectful and caring. I have a lot to compare it to and this home is at
the top of my list of the best. I thank all the staff for the wonderful care given to my mum, she has been so happy since moving in there.

Unfortunately, my mother passed away in October 2020; her last 20 months were spent at Dearne Valley. I would just like to take this opportunity to say a massive thank you. The care of my mum was exemplary, especially the team upstairs caring for residents with dementia. The love and care given in mum's
final days was brilliant and very touching. I can't thank the home enough for how they looked after her for this final phase of her life. The care staff are simply magnificent.

My mother could not have been in better hands. Nothing was too much trouble. Her care was first-class in every respect. No praise is worthy enough to celebrate the staff at Dearne Valley Care home. They were all magnificent in every respect. Thank you for everything that you did for my mother.

5-star care home. Staff and management make you so welcome. Staff work so hard to care for patients. They give 100%.
The home is well decorated and clean to all standard. Always a good meal.

I had previous connections to this nursing home as my father was looked after here and because his care was at such a high standard and my relationship with the staff was excellent I obviously chose it for my mother when she needed 24-hour care. On arrival, she was in a terrible state after having a
hip replacement and operation for a bleed on the brain. She came from the hospital not mobile and had lost a lot of weight. After being here for a short while she is now mobile and has put on weight. It's the best she has been thanks to the nursing home.

My mother is 99 years old and has been in care here almost 5 years. She has not been an easy resident but she has had wonderful care from all people who work in this care home. She is well looked after, well fed and carefully supervised to prevent her escape - she often wants to go home.
We are always
greeted cheerfully whenever we visit. She would benefit from more stimulating conversation but the staff are busy and do their best.

The staff are so friendly and very caring towards mum as well as the family. Mum is always smiling or very happy to be there. Mum calls Dearne Valley her home.
