My dad has been here for more than a year it is the best decision I've made . Nothing is too much trouble for the staff they go above and beyond to care for the residents . They have theme days and have a lot of community involvement. My dad is very happy there and as long as he's happy we're happy .

Day in day out when visiting my mum I see them dealing with the residents as if they are their own family.
The manager strives to put on as much entertainment as possible and the staff keep the residents engaged with regular activities.
Would recommend this care home to anyone.

On the day of mum's funeral the manager held a small service at Thornhill for staff and fellow residents to say goodbye and treated us with respect.
Whilst it was a distressing time for us as a family to lose mum, we were happy with the care and dignity shown to her throughout her stay at Thornhill.
Thank you for sharing such a thoughtful review. We're truly sorry for your loss and are honoured to have cared for your mum for so many years. It means a great deal to hear that our team was able to support her - and your family - with compassion, dignity and respect during her final weeks. I can not recommend this amazing care home enough they have gone above and beyond for my grandma and to help me make sure her safety came first. Christian and all the care workers are amazing nothing is too much, they do their best for every resident and families and even have a lot of events on to engage the residents and keep them entertained and fit were possible
Thank you so much for your kind recommendation. We're delighted to hear that your grandma has been so well supported and that her safety and wellbeing have been a priority. Your lovely words about Christian and the team mean a great deal, and we're pleased to know the activities and events are helping residents stay engaged and active.
The level of care she receives is truly outstanding. The team are attentive without being overbearing, while always being on hand when needed. They treat her like family, not just a resident - and that's something you can't put a price on.
The home itself is warm, clean, and inviting. The recent redecoration has freshened up the home making it look more like a hotel than a care home. Activities are varied and engaging, from music afternoons to gentle exercise sessions.
Communication has also been excellent. I'm always kept informed of any changes in her health or routine, and the staff are approachable and happy to answer questions. It's reassuring to know she's in such capable, caring hands.
When choosing a care home for my mother-in-law, we wanted the very best - and Thornhill House stood out immediately with its highest possible rating from the CQC. From the moment we visited, we were impressed by the warmth, professionalism, and genuine compassion of the staff. Every team member treats her with dignity, kindness, and patience, creating a safe, homely environment where she feels valued and respected. The home is spotless, well-maintained, and thoughtfully designed for comfort and accessibility. Meals are delicious and tailored to residents' needs, and the wide range of activities keeps her engaged, happy, and socially connected. Communication with families is excellent, giving us complete peace of mind. We've seen such a positive difference in her quality of life since arriving at Thornhill House. It truly deserves its outstanding CQC rating for Caring and is a shining example of what a care home should be.
Everything is centred around the residents needs from the food to entertainment to activities which makes for a happy lively atmosphere. Dad's funeral left from the home and the service was so moving and personal - very special.
Absolutely the best care home for the resident. I am the carer of her brother and we love visiting her. Everyone is well looked after and happy, full of energy and life. 1000% recommended the manager and his team, brilliant place
My Grandma was in Thornhill House from January 2025 until she passed away in April.
The staff at Thornhill House, as a whole are absolutely fantastic. Nothing was ever too much, whether it was for my Grandma or for my family.
My Grandma's death was sudden, although she'd been battling with her illness for a while before she went to Thornhill I never saw her as happy as I did when she was there. Thornhill is truly a home away from home, they make you feel at ease, offer emotional support, aswell as maintaining a professional relationship with their service users, residents and their families.
I cannot thank them enough for making the last few months of her life enjoyable under the circumstances, even now she's gone myself and family still have a friendship with those at Thornhill House and that says everything about the care they put into what they do.

There's no words to express my gratitude, appreciation and thanks to all the carers and management at Thornhill House for their constant dedication and impeccable care they provide to the residents. Excellent well balanced meals, stimulating entertainment, activities, garden parties, fancy dress, the list is endless. Nothing is too much trouble for them. It's very comforting to have the reassurance of knowing your loved one is being cared for to such a high standard. They are one big happy family at Thornhill House. Thank you very much , all of you, for everything.
Excellent staff who go above and beyond with there care and attention, also very welcoming to residents family and friends, nothing is too much trouble. Activities provided to residents give great pleasure and enjoyment, especially encouraging them to join in. Very well kept rooms and a good varied menu catering for all needs, also knowing loved ones are safe at all times, cannot praise Thornhill enough, many thanks .
He moved into Thornhill in September 2023 for restbite whilst mum was battling cancer and sadly passed away in October 2023,dad never came out of Thornhill.
The love and care he received at Thornhill was unbelievably good both professionally and personally. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff.
We worried wether he would settle but he did very quickly and became one of the characters thanks to the staff,
Most people think they have to die before they meet an angel but dad didn't have to wait he met his angels long before at Thornhill
Can't thank them enough and will be eternally grateful
