The home used to look tired but has just been refurbished and now looks fabulous. The staff are very friendly and caring and have a joke with the residents - lovely to see.

Mum came to Beeches because she needed full-time care. Her memory loss meant she forgot to eat sometimes and didn't remember to have a wash. She had some help but it wasn't enough and also she was very lonely.
Beeches is an ideal place for her and we no longer worry about how she manages.

I am pleased with mum's care. I wish she had more to read downstairs, all her books etc are in her room. I am pleased that she always looks nice and in her own clothes.
I don't know what activities mum does.

My mother has lived at The Beeches for two years and my family is very happy with the care and attention that she receives. We are immediately informed of any changes in her health and of the action taken, if any, by the staff. Families, staff and residents have just enjoyed a very enjoyable bingo night
and are looking forward to a Christmas carol sing-a-long, mince pies and mulled wine.

My mother was treated very well. The staff are so nice and welcoming. They treated her with respect and helped her with all she needed my father is a resident in The Beeches and has been for 3 years. As mum lives with us, I needed respite for mum and it was the best place.

We were looking for a home that offered real care not just fancy surroundings. The Beeches Care Home staff were excellent and I felt my mother was both safe and cared for.
The care industry are not well paid in my view it was, therefore, a delight to see such positive and happy staff.

My sister is a resident in the home and is suffering from Alzheimer's she has been there since May this year and has appeared to have settled in well.
The staff are all friendly and caring. On entering this home you get a good atmosphere which I always pick up on.
The place is nice and clean and has
that looked after feeling and I feel that she is being well cared for and that I can ask staff for any information! If they can't answer my question they will find out from someone who can.

My friend has been a resident at The Beeches for some time now. He always looks happy and content. The staff always seem to be busy but nothing is too much trouble. I am always offered a drink when I visit.
One thing I have noticed is the laughter everyone is so happy. The home itself always looks
clean and smells clean too.

I would like to say what a wonderful 102nd Birthday, my mother had at The Beeches. The manageress booked a splendid entertainment. Mum and residents happily singing along to Vera Lynn and sixties songs. The singers in costume, union jack waving, wearing "tin helmets" all adding to the atmosphere. The
civic mayor attended, a lovely buffet lunch, beautiful birthday cake, flowers, cards, decorations - Wow! Thanks to the manager, the local paper ran a photo and report - mum was very proud to see herself and the mayor in the local press. Fame at last!
On behalf od my mother and family - a big "Thank you" to all the staff for working so hard to provide a really happy and very memorable day.

We feel incredibly lucky that our mum is part of the family that make up The Beeches. She has reached 101 years this month with the dedication of the whole team. She, along with all the other residents enjoyed a wonderful party in her celebration with a performance from two beautiful singers providing
music from the 60's. It was a great afternoon, balloons, trimmings, party food and a decorated cake completed the event and was a huge success all round. I am forever singing the praises of the staff at The Beeches. I have complete confidence in her care and well being and am so grateful to the team at The Beeches.

My father was a resident for a week to provide respite for his partner. On entering the home for the first time we were welcomed warmly and my farther's condition and needs both medical and personal were discussed thoroughly. The whole time he was there, nothing indicated that they deviated away from
his agreed treatment. His every need and request was acted upon in a timely manner and he also made some friends which was an unexpected bonus.
The staff were always friendly and helpful and constantly in attendance in the main area.
My father loved the food and snacks provided through the day.
Overall, the home made what was a difficult time, as easy and worry free as could be expected.
I would 100% recommend this home.

Although my mother-in-law was very hesitant and reluctant to stay at The Beeches Care Home, she thoroughly enjoyed her respite stay. The carers were lovely and she made friends quickly, telling everyone her life story and making everyone laugh with her wicked sense of humour. Thank ou to all for making
it such a pleasant and smooth experience.

I visit The Beeches at least once per week and always feel welcome. I'm quite happy to see my brother looking so happy, contented and relaxed. He constantly says that he enjoys his food, sleeps well and hasn't a care in the world!
He also likes all the staff and looks clean and well dressed. I now
feel quite happy to know that he is safe and secure, away from any danger.

My mother, who sadly now has dementia, was taken into the home for respite. We have now decided (the family) that her best interests are served by being in The Beeches permanently. The staff are lovely and the accommodation wonderful. We have not seen mum so settled and happy for a long time. We now
know that she is safe and well cared for.
Thank you.

I would like to let you know how satisfied I am with the way my father has been treated from his arrival to the present day in The Beeches Care Home. I have never known my father to be so happy and contented always smiling now when I visit. He tells me it is like staying in a hotel and does not want
to leave. Although he has dementia he is very clear on the way he is treated praising the staff and importantly the meals. I would like to say a big thankyou to everyone involved in my father's care.

Current Review Score: 9.1 (9.062)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.1 (9.062) out of 10 for The Beeches Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.3 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.262 for The Beeches Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (52 Excellents x 5) + (41 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) + (6 Poors x 2) + (2 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 107 Ratings = 4.262
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.8 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The Beeches Care Home is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 32 registered maximum number of service users is 6.4, which has been reached with 8 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
