I cannot speak highly enough of Marina and the entire team at Beechy Knoll for the care, kindness and compassion shown to my nan during her time there. Following a hospital stay, we were worried and overwhelmed, but Marina made what could have been a stressful transition feel straightforward and reassuring. From our first conversation, we knew my nan was in safe hands. The care provided went far beyond our expectations. My nan was treated with dignity, warmth and genuine affection. She was not just cared for, she was truly known, valued and respected as an individual. This gave our family priceless peace of mind during a very emotional time. Beechy Knoll feels more like a luxury hotel than a care home, with beautiful surroundings and exceptional standards throughout. However, what makes it truly special is the atmosphere of warmth, compassion and family that Marina and her team have created. We will always be grateful for the support kindness and humanity shown to nan and our family.
We feel privileged to have been able to care for your nan and support your family during such an emotional and difficult time. Knowing...
My Mum has just spent 2 weeks in respite care at Beechy Knoll Care Home. From the first general enquiry with Marina the Manager of Beechy Knoll, we were met with kindness, guidance and reassurance that my Mum would have her needs met (she has Alzheimer's), this wàs further confirmed when Mum was assessed at our home prior to being admitted. The home is set in lovely grounds near to local amenities and transport. When I took Mum for her stay, the staff greeted her as though she was a member of their "family", she was given a tour of the home, along with a good Yorkshire brew with biscuits, before being shown to her room, which was beautiful and had everything she would need. During Mum's stay she made friends and was encouraged to join in with games and crafts (something I couldn't get her to do at home!!) it was like a mini holiday for her and a welcoming rest for myself and my husband. The care, food and facilities were excellent and I can't thank the staff enough!!
Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful review. It was a pleasure to welcome your Mum to Beechy Knoll for her respite stay. We are delighted to hear that your experience from your first enquiry, through to admission was positive, and that you felt supported with kindness, guidance and...
The change in my Mum is truly remarkable, she is now engaging, happy , content and her anxiety and poor wellbeing have been eradicated.
Putting your loved one into a care homes is so stressful, the staff and management at Beechy Knoll eradicate the stress form the moment you walk through the front door. you feel part of a large family, the home is vibrant, alive and full laughter and happiness.
THANK YOU - The Beechy team.
Thank you for taking the time to complete this review, the Team value and improve services to our residents from reviews we receive, we strive to ensure that everyone who lives, visits and works at Beechy Knoll has a warm friendly welcome into the home. We ensure residents are at the heart of everything we do.
Following a lengthy stay in hospital mum became a resident in Beechy Knoll in January. Her confidence was low, had lost a lot of weight and had difficulty walking. Since living here her confidence and general appearance has blossomed and her independence with walking has massivley improved. This is due to the excellent staff who encourage and cannot do enough for mum. The activities are varied and cater for all abilities - mum is busy every afternoon. The food provided is also of a very high standard. The management are accessible, approachable and friendly and have been hugely supportive with form filling and helping mum to settle in. I cannot rate this home highly enough. Even our relatives have commented on the lovely home and staff.
Thank you for taking time to review Beechy Knoll, the team are committed to providing residents with meaningful activities and strive to ensure everyone at the home has a happy and satisfying life.
My mum has been at Beechy Knoll for two months. During that time, she has been treated with respect, dignity, kindness and friendship. It has been a life-changing event for mum, but she has been encouraged and supported by the excellent staff to help her integrate into the home community. I, along with my sister, have been able to discuss any concerns or worries with the staff who have been excellent in sorting any issues. Mum says the staff and talks highly of them, that is all we need to hear. Thank you.
Thank you for this reveiw, I will share with the Team, Mum is a pleasure to be around and has made friends within the home, she relates well to staff and will always stop for a chat.
At very short notice we had to place mom in respite care. Mum had never been to this care home before, the one she was used to was not available. This was an extremely anxious time for us. When I contacted the manager she was very eager to support me & offered a room for the dates required. Although this was very thoughtful I was still very anxious because mum is from an Afro Caribbean background It was important that mums cultural needs would be met. I was so touched to observe the kindness and warmth shown to mum on her arrival. During a conversation with the manager I had told her how mums faith is very important to her. The manager had clearly remembered this & mums name tag included a picture of a preacher& gospel choir. This was a heartfelt personal touch to ensure mum felt comfortable & welcomed. This was the start of a fantastic respite placement for my mum that continued to the end including welcoming mums church congregation to the care home. This was very important to mum.
Thank you for taking the time to complete this reveiw, it was a pleasure to welcome Mum and her Church friends and family into Beechy Knoll. It was warming to see how Mum was involved in activities and was very comfortable chatting to other residents and staff. It would be a pleasure to welcome Mum again should she need any further support.
I think they have a lot to deal with and could do with more staff on.
The staff appear lovely and try to help you as much as they can.
The conservatory is a very relaxing warm and Cosy place to go for a family meeting. Or even just for a place to recharge.
Thank you for taking the time to write the review, it can become noisy at times when everyone is moving around in the corridor. The staff team are very committed to the residents and there are always staff on duty. Visitors are welcome to use the conservatory and the garden area, we also encourage families to join their loved ones for a meal in the conservatory.
Thank you so much to you all.
Thank you for taking the time to complete this reveiw, we enjoyed supporting you and your family, you will be sadly missed. At Beechy Knoll we strive to support all that live, visit and work here.
I have a mum and a sister in Beechy Knoll! I had no real prior experience of a care home setting and so, I honestly didn't know what to expect. Since day one, I can only say it has been amazing. I have turned up unannounced many times and the staff have always been amazing. My mum and sister are very happy living here and I have no complaints whatsoever about anything.
Thank you for taking time to complete this reveiw, at Beechy Knoll we strive to ensure a warm, welcoming happy environment for people who live, visit and work at Beechy Knoll.
My friend has lived in Beechy Knoll for a year. She is looked after by dedicated, caring staff who are always friendly to her, despite her sometimes challenging behaviour. She is always clean and well-dressed. The food is home-cooked and excellent, she has a weekly manicure from the excellent events coordinator. The management and nursing staff are friendly, approachable and always willing to help. My friend could not be in a better place.
Thank you for this review, it is a pleasure to support your friend and her visitors which are always welcome.
The staff are professional and friendly. 0
I have no concerns or worries regarding my sister's care.

Thank you for this review, the team strive to ensure the residents are supported well and always have what they want and need, it is a pleasure to support all our residents.
My mum has been here for over two years and then my dad has been here just over a year.
I know they are so well cared for and looked after and knowing they're together means such a lot.
Everywhere is spotlessly clean and the food is amazing.
There are activities for the residents which they love.
I would definitely recommend Beechy Knoll to anyone.
Thank you for this review, it is a pleasure to support your relatives and to support you, we strive to make Beechy Knoll a warm, welcoming environment for everyone who lives, visits and works there.
Dad has been here for 4 years, being cared for by an amazing staff team. The manager who navigates the running of Beechy Knoll does so with a professional, empathetic genuine manner. A warm happy residence with a wonder woman providing daily activities.
Thank you for this review, it is a pleasure to care and support your relative. The team strive to ensure the residents are well supported and build relationships with their families. Wonder woman is the correct term for the activities person a true blessing.
My aunt has received excellent care and support here, she loves it! The staff are absolutely amazing and simply never stop! Their attitude is so wonderful, always caring, always respectful and always doing their best for my aunt. Her room is lovely and always spotless, the food is delicious and freshly prepared by an excellent cook/baker extraordinaire, very enjoyable. Inclusive activities organised by a great coordinator, conservatory, garden and a pub! So happy my aunt came here.
Thank you for this review it is kind of you to take the time to complete it, the team at Beechy Knoll took pleasure in supporting such a lovely lady and she was very appreciative of everything. The team also built good relationships with the family who were very supportive. A total pleasure caring for this lady.
When my mum moved into Beechy Knoll in December 2021 I wasn't able to be there with her to make sure she was okay. I had planned to visit her throughout 2022 but due to issues with my own health, I wasn't able to. Throughout that time when I spoke to her it was great to hear how happy and well she sounded. When I was finally able to see her with my children last week it was such a relief to see how well she was doing for them and me. I have nothing but praise for the staff and the care they have given her and also the kindness they showed us on our visit. I look forward to visiting again soon.
Thank you for taking the time to complete this reveiw, Mum is a pleasure to support, she has built good relationships and has a good circle of friends. The team strive to ensure a warm friendly welcome to those who live, visit and work at Beechy Knoll.
My sister from Australia would also wish to comment favourably on the welcome she received from all Beechy Knoll staff during her recent visits to the home.
The focus on activities to engage all of the residents is also praiseworthy and your efforts are appreciated.
Thank you for this reveiw, we continually monitor residents' well-being to ensure they are living their best life. Seeing this lady when her family visit is a pleasure, she is always happy to see them and wants to know what's going on.
Since December 2021, when my mother became a resident of Beechy Knoll Care Home, the care and support she has received have been superb. Can not fault it at all. Mum is happy and content and looks so well. It gives the family a great sense of relief knowing she is in good care.
Thank you for this review; it is a pleasure supporting this lady. She has made friends and always encourages others to get involved - that's definitely the teacher in her.
Beechy Knoll staff are lovely with my daughter; they take good care of her. She is very happy here, and we know she is looked after.
Thanks for this review; it is a pleasure to care for her. She is a lovely person, and the staff have built really good relationships with her and the whole of the family.
Heartfelt thanks to all staff at Beechy Knoll for their impeccable care given to my nephew over the past year. Your compassion, kindness, love and patience has been unwaving, enabling my nephew to be himself again and have the confidence to achieve his goal to live independently. Despite moving into his own home a month ago, the staff continue to support him through his volunteering activities working alongside the social activites co-ordinator. Having this kind of ongoing support from staff who know my nephew and have a trusting relationship with him, is crucial to safeguarding his well being during this transitional period, and goes to show, the depth of understanding the Manager and staff have about his needs. He now has a secure foundation from which to keep moving forward with his life and that's all down to the staff at Beechy Knoll. As his family, we will be forever grateful.
Thank you for this review, it has been a pleasure for the team at Beechy Knoll to watch your nephew grow in confidence and ability, he is a joy to have around, the other residents enjoy his visits and are always eager to participate in all the activities he is involved with, he is very welcome at any time.
I had to move my Mother from a previous care home where she was very unhappy. All this happened during the height of the COVID crisis so these were challenging times and she does have Alzheimer's. My own access to Beechy was limited rightly due to Covid restrictions but I measured the Home mainly on mother's contentedness and she was- content and happy. She was always clean, well presented and generally happy. She was on occasion grumpy but isn't everyone! The home is well run and rigorously follows the Covid infection controls and administers medications and treatments properly and professionally. Furthermore, there are in-house entertainment parties cakes and things generally going on. It is a vibrant community at Beechy Knoll. Mother's case of Alzheimer's did progress to the point where Beechy could no longer cope, so she is now in a facility for more challenging behaviour - but notwithstanding this [which was professionally dealt with], I would be happier for Mum to still be there.
Thank you for taking the time to complete this review, it was a pleasure supporting your Mum, she wasn't always happy as you say but she was part of the Beechy Family and is missed by everyone, please call in if you are passing it would be lovely to see you.

Meet the Team (2)

I have been with Pearlcare at Beechy Knoll Residential Home since 24th October 2016.
Qualifications & Experience:Before joining Pearlcare, I had worked with Sheffield City Council for 40 years in residential care; the last 20 years were in Management.
My ethos as Beechy Knoll’s Manager:At Beechy Knoll, we have a “Can Do” spirit; we encourage residents, relatives, and staff to be involved in the decision-making within the home. Our ethos is that this is the resident’s home, and we are privileged to support them to enable them to live their lives as unique individuals to the full. The barriers have been broken down; our theory is that nothing is impossible; there’s always a way round to achieve what you want to achieve. We strive to ensure Beechy Knoll is welcoming, friendly, and safe to all who live, visit, and work here.
Biggest achievements whilst working at Beechy KnollAlmost 5 years to the day, I commenced work at Beechy Knoll. The CQC rating was inadequate in all areas; CQC were to close us within two days, I attended meetings with Sheffield City Council and began the long road to recovery for Beechy Knoll. I recruited a Deputy Manager who had previously worked with me in SCC (Sheffield City Council) and an Administrator who I had also worked with; having built the Senior Team, we set about building the Care, Catering and Housekeeping Teams. Together we achieved a CQC rating of “GOOD”; what an achievement we had to celebrate. Since then, we have gone from strength to strength, building a good foundation to enable us to move forward.
Last Christmas, the residents and staff put on a Panto; they were involved in the organisation of it, making costumes, scenery and props. Cinderella’s Carriage was decorated by residents; the home was like a fairy princess castle and awash with glitter.
We celebrated one of our ladies' 105th birthday in July. After seeing this on our Facebook page, relatives were ringing asking if their Mum/Nan could have a party, as it seemed that everyone was enjoying themselves. So the summer has been awash with parties and entertainers; this has been amazing for everyone. We celebrate every occasion, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, birthdays, etc. The home is decorated to suit the theme of each occasion; residents are always involved in this. This year we had a new conservatory; this has been an enormous asset to the home and is used daily for residents’ visitors and for craft sessions. Another addition to the home has been our newly completed Pod. This has totally transformed the garden area, with decking and comfortable seating; this has been enjoyed by residents, relatives, and staff throughout the summer.

Our Activities Co-Ordinator, meets with residents on admission to chat and find out what they have done and enjoyed in the past and what they would like to do in the future. There are many activities on offer and residents are encouraged to express their creativity. On offer there are arts and crafts, baking, keep fit, reminiscence, pamper sessions, gardening, bingo, pub afternoon and many more suited to the unique individual resident.
