I would like to say a big thank you to staff and management in particular. They are approachable and understanding to our needs as well as my moms. You are always made to feel at home and they work so hard in all areas, residents needs, health and safety, entertainment to mention a few. Thank you.

My mum stayed at Beechy Knoll for 1 weeks respite and loved it, So much that when the time came to go into a care home she wanted this one. The staff are brilliant and the food is good, I know as I've stayed for tea. There is also always something going on for them to do.
Reply from Marina Glaves, Manager at Beechy KnollThank you for this review Pat, it has been our pleasure to welcome Mum and her family into the Family at Beechy Knoll, we were particularly grateful for the family input with our garden fete, we would not have managed without the assistance of your family and Mum who enjoyed herself helping out on the tombola stall and your family member who ran a stall for us, we really appreciate your help.

Beechy Knoll has a really good atmosphere.
The staff and management, who are visible and very approachable put themselves out to help you and explain things.
You don't feel you are visiting an institution but a big, happy family home.
Any issues are dealt with immediately and feedback is excellent.
Residents
and family meetings are held regularly.
Mum says she "likes it here" - something that reassures me no end.
All thanks to the new management.

Visited a lady whom has been our family friend from "the war days", whom we call our aunty. Visited every day for five years. We picked Beechy Knoll Care Home as this is next door to our home. We never looked back to this day (8th July 2017) when my aunty sadly died.
The magnificent new manager made
brilliant necessary changes. Wonderful, caring, dedicated staff. Very clean, excellent meals, nice approach to building etc.
Reply from Marina Glaves, Manager at Beechy KnollThank you for this review, it was a pleasure looking after this lady - she will be sadly missed, as will your visits. Please pop in for a drink if you are passing, it would be nice to see you both.

Rather dismal when first visited. There is a new manager and it's different altogether happier environment, happier staff, cleaner - in fact, it's spotless. A pleasant, bright place to be. My sister is very happy and contented there. Her appearance is much improved due to the better care.
Reply from Marina Glaves, Manager at Beechy KnollIt's really good to know the residents are happy and families feel safe leaving their loved ones in our care, thank you for your comments.

Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
Up till October 2016, I was so very concerned about management and staff issues. A new manager was appointed, we have had meetings and spoke at regular times. I feel as though I have been listened to and now feel more than confident that all past issues have been resolved and look forward to the future,
sharing and being totally honest. I now trust the manager 100%.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.529)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.529) out of 10 for Beechy Knoll is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 11 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 11 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.754 for Beechy Knoll is calculated as follows: ( (106 Excellents x 5) + (18 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 130 Ratings = 4.754
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.775 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Beechy Knoll is based on 11 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 = 3.775
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 40 registered maximum number of service users is 8, which has been reached with 11 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
