Mum is not always the easiest person to deal with and Darwin staff and managers are very supportive and kind sometimes under very difficult circumstances. I couldn't be happier with the care she is receiving.
The care that my mother-in-law has had is second to none. She can be very difficult and the staff are always understanding and kind.
Excellent, what more can I say? Thanks.
Unfortunately, 'lockdown' due to Covid-19 occurred shortly after that and we were unable to visit. Whenever we telephoned to have a chat with Mum, the staff would always go out of their way to locate her, in the Library, in the Dining room or in her bedroom. Mum has dementia and so has difficulty with answering the phone, but once again the staff have always been very patient and helpful.
We are very happy with our choice of Darwin House as a home for Mum, we know she is safe, has regular checks and is well-looked after.
Our mum moved to Darwin House three months ago. Despite lockdown, she has settled well. The staff are very caring and approachable and give her hugs when we can't. They invite her to activities and help her to socialise but also respect her wishes when she just wants to read a book. Mum says the food is very good and she enjoys the glass of wine! She speaks highly of the staff saying they are friendly and kind. The house itself is impressive with fresh tasteful decor and a delightful sunny conservatory where residents dine. The garden is beautiful with thoughtful landscaping. We have found the staff to be very good at letting us know about Mum's health and keeping us informed. We are also pleased with the medical care Mum has received. We are very thankful that Mum is staying here and would highly recommend it.
Very happy with every aspect of the care.
My 94-year-old mum feels totally at home in their care at Darwin House and all the staff make her feel part of a family.
My mother has been a resident at Darwin House since January 2015, the care shown to her during this time has been consistent of a high standard. Her happiness, welfare always of paramount importance. This is due to the efficient management of the establishment with attention to detail in providing a welcoming, friendly atmosphere. Everyone is always cheerful and responsive.
My mother-in-law has now been a resident at Darwin House for 4 1/2 years. The consistency of quality of care throughout this period has been exceptionally good. Staff show a genuine care and are prepared to 'go the extra mile' to offer support. The dedicated senior staff are very professional in their approach. The management and leadership are totally committed to the well being of the residents and staff. High standards are expected and if staff don't comply with these standards then appropriate action seems to be taken. I've already booked a room there should the need arise.
Hugely impressed by all aspects of Darwin House. Warm, caring and efficient staff, excellent management, good food and a real focus on the needs of the residents. We are delighted with the care and would strongly recommend it.
Excellent care and attention for my mother who has vascular dementia. The care home is very well managed and all staff demonstrate a genuine understanding of my mother’s needs.
The care is good and the attitude is genuine. A definite yes from me!
The welcome given by the management team and staff when my mother went to Darwin was warm and so friendly and her room was full of personal touches which made her smile. After a difficult respite placement elsewhere, we were anxious, but our concerns were quickly relieved. The staff provide care which is professional but personal and promotes independence and they have supported her to regain her level of walking and she wants to socialise. Mealtimes are a happy time and the choice and quality are excellent and she has regained weight. When we visit, it is a pleasurable experience and one we look forward to as Darwin House is a positive experience for my mother.
Mum moved into Darwin House in Sept 2018 through necessity (dementia). Obviously, we had concerns, but as soon as we met the staff, we were bowled over with their kindness, consideration, attention to detail and genuine care for all the residents. The care home is more akin to a beautiful home rather than a business - it is always scrupulously clean, weekly fresh flowers, outstanding food and a decor that would be a credit to a top hotel.
Caring community, nothing is too much trouble.
Both me and my sister have been really impressed with Darwin House since our mum became a resident 5 months ago. All the staff including management, team leaders, carers and chefs go that extra mile to make mum's time at Darwin House pleasant. We are so pleased to have found a care home where everyone is so friendly and helpful. I would recommend it to any of my friends for their parents.
He is content and happy. He has never complained about any aspect of his care, the home or staff. He is treated with respect.
Visitors are always welcomed.
Staff always helpful and supportive to residents.
My Dad's 3 weeks stay for respite care at Darwin House was a wholly positive experience. As this was his first time in care, he was naturally anxious initially but was quickly made to feel at home by the wonderful staff. Asa family, we felt that Darwin House was safe, well run, welcoming and very comfortable environment. Dad was very happy there and we would definitely recommend it.
A very friendly and caring home.
