Every time I go to Darwin House, I am struck by the feel of the place. There is a sense of warmth and care and often of gaiety. It is clean, comfortable and cosy but what makes it special is that it feels as a home should feel - a happy home.
A very well run and comfortable care home. All staff have been kind and helpful.
All staff were extremely helpful/kind to both my mum and her family.
They were knowledgeable and demonstrated excellent communication.
Both my mum and dad are living together at Darwin House. The rooms have generous proportions, separate lounge and bedroom, and it is one of the few places that allows them to stay together as a couple. The communal areas are very pleasant and have a lovely comfortable, homely feel - carpets throughout rather than cold, hard corridors, fresh flowers in the hallway. My parents always tell me how wonderful the staff are, and I can see that they are being cared for with great warmth and compassion. It feels a relaxed, homely and happy environment.
The atmosphere at Darwin House is relaxed and homely. Staff are cheerful and very welcoming to visitors at all times. My parents are both very happy with the care and support they have received.
Mum has been at Darwin House for nearly a year. There's been one or two health issues which have been sorted efficiently but also with care and compassion. Darwin House is such a friendly place. It's like a big family home, always so welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble. Knowing mum is looked after so well is a big comfort to our family. My sister and I, if and when needed, will be reserving our places at Darwin House.
Excellent home. Above and beyond normal care. Very impressed.
My mum was welcomed into Darwin House at very short notice following a nasty fall at her own home resulting in a broken wrist.
Everyone has been very kind and supportive not only to my mum but to me. They have recognised what a trauma it was for us both and we couldn't have wished for a better reception.
My mum has only been there for 2 weeks but has settled very well and feels comfortable and reassured already. All the staff take a genuine interest in mum and me and nothing is too much trouble for them. Thank you all very much.
More like a country hotel than a care home. Resident is very contented and appreciates how fortunate she is to reside there.
Darwin House is a clean, well run home for my 98-year-old, blind, Aunt to live in. The standard of care, hygiene and food is excellent. The staff are helpful and caring and keep us updated on any changes in her condition, which is important as we live a 3-hour drive away. We know she is safe and warm.
All the staff in the home are warm, friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. Any concerns or worries regarding my mother are dealt with promptly and efficiently by the management team and carers. The home is beautifully kept and everywhere looks clean and well cared for. I am able to visit at any time and always find such a welcoming and homely atmosphere. My mother is very happy and settled living here.
Brilliant facilities but it's all about the staff. They are amazing, caring, compassionate, jolly and efficient. They made sure that my mum's long term stay was excellent, happy and safe. I cannot recommend highly enough. We were so grateful and fortunate to have found Darwin House for Mum.
Lovely place in a very nice area. All staff are very polite and caring. Very clean and tidy at all times with great facilities. Lots of stimulation for the residents and nothing is too much trouble.
My aunt is 96 and blind and therefore extremely reliant on assistance. She is very happy with the care and support she receives and as she is extremely alert, can confirm to me that this is the case. The staff and management keep me informed at all times of any issues arising in relation to my aunt and regular reviews are carried out. I am happy to confirm that after five months, my decision to chose Darwin House over a dozen others has been the right one.
I have been to see other friends in other care homes (residential) but I have ever found such care, consideration of residents. The staff are excellent they are very quick to see to the needs of the residents. The food is excellent with great varieties. The entertainment is wonderful. The rooms are lovely and the domestic staff are really efficient. Bathing/toilet facilities are very modern and staff are on hand to assist residents excellent.
It is first class.
The rooms are all tastefully appointed. It is a pretty home. The staff are lovely and the food is good. My father aged 94, is well cared for long may it continue.
Darwin House provides high-quality residential care for the elderly in a respectful manner.
Darwin House is a welcoming care home with kind, caring and compassionate care staff backed by a friendly and professional management team providing high standards of safety, care and kindness to residents in a comfortable environment.
As well as looking after the needs of residents, staff are helpful and considerate to visitors.
Darwin House has been fantastic for my nan and allowed her to recover and regain her fitness after a fall. They have also supported her and us as a family through her transition from respite care to full resident of the home. The staff are wonderful and have made us all welcome. They have eased our worries and ensured my nan has company. Health and comfort. My only concern is my nan often states she is bored due to activities not always running when stated. But overall they are brilliant and it is a huge weight off to know my nan is safe and looked after.
First impression - very friendly staff (top to bottom).
This was carried through during the whole two weeks of my wife's stay (whilst I was in hospital and recovery). The accommodation was highly satisfactory, comfortable and clean. Fresh smelling.
Very good food. Menus well thought through.
My wife states that under the circumstances, she would return!
