My Great Aunt has had the best time since she moved in here - she has gone from a quiet lady to someone who seems to be the centre of the Home. She has been out 3 or 4 times every week and seems to be having a lovely time every day that I see her. I couldn't ask for more for her and am so happy that she is here. She has so much going on now that she is really happy and busy every day.
My great Auntie has moved into the Hallamshire and I am so pleased with how things have gone. They have really spent time to get to know what she likes and dislikes, she has already been out at least once a week to something that has been right up her street. The staff are so friendly they have spent time getting to know me as well as my great Aunt. I already know many other residents and staff, that I feel like I am visiting friends as well as my relative. The food is fantastic and I have already eaten here on several occasions. I love visiting and feel that my family couldn't have chosen a better home for my great Aunt.
I like it here and I am very happy. I look forward to the day. Thumbs up! I enjoy the food.
My brother has just moved into this Care Home, I am so pleased with everything. The people that work there really look after him and have got to know him personally, they already understand his sense of humour and that is important to him. He has already been out on several trips and I was able to go too which was really nice as we haven't done that in a long time. We are both very pleased so far, the female manager and the Care Staff have gone out of their way to help us and make us feel at home.
Mum was at the care home for about three and a half years. It was a difficult time with Mums Alzheimer's, but it was better her being in the home than being on the loose! I have felt a solid, caring and kind connection with the Manager from the start. The home felt better than all the others we visited at the outset and this has proven to be an accurate guess. During the three years I visited every month or two and my brother visited every day for a year and then every few days for the other two years. On each of these occasions the staff were kind and welcoming. They formed interested and caring relationships with my mum, that mattered enormously. Being in the care home recently when my mother died I had two weeks there every day. Mum was able to have a 'Home Death' with us present, and with very kind engaging hands at critical moments. The staff seem to feel ownership of their increasingly skilled roles, and that their work has meaning, and to me that is all that matters.
A caring and friendly atmosphere. Good wholesome food. Plenty of activities and some nice trips out. Sometimes have to be prompted about laundry matters, but on the whole quite satisfactory.
The Hallamshire home is an excellent care home. The staff are caring and obviously have respect for the residents. There is a good atmosphere with a family feel, clean and comfortable. The activities are very good and varied and it is obviously an important part of life for everyone at the Hallamshire. I enjoy visiting my friend there as it is a happy place and its fun to join in with my friend and help out.
The staff at Hallamshire are very kind and caring towards the residents. I have observed residents being upset and crying and a care worker will give the residents a hug and be very comforting. The home has 2 activity organisers organising trips out of the home and activities inside, one of the reasons we chose the home. If I have any queries about my mothers care the staff are quick to respond. I observe the staff treating all residents with care and respect. I feel confident that my mother is being looked after and treated well in the home.
My relative is extremely happy and well looked after at Hallamshire. They have a better social life than I do with all the different trips and activities that are going on. They have got better and better since admission and this is credit to the lovely staff at the Home.
I have only been able to visit my dad a couple of times but my brother and his wife come regularly. We all think he staff are wonderful and are confident that dad is in excellent hands.
My mother has been at Hallamshire for nearly two years and in that time she has been very well looked after and cared for. Her general health has in fact very much improved since she has been there. The staff and management are excellent.
