My mother moved into the Hallamshire care home in May 2019. We, as a family, are so impressed with the outstanding level of care, the highly stimulating level of activities and the facilities. Every member of staff, without exception, strives to make it the best home - caring, engaging and very positive.
The home has exceeded all my expectations. It is a nice, tastefully extended house with a lovely garden but the high point is the wonderful staff. They are all compassionate, caring and show endless patience with the residents. They also organise many activities in which my wife happily participates. The home is very well run and I think that when the awful decision had to be made that my wife needed to go into a home in May 2018 I could not have made a better choice.
My mum moved into Hallamshire in May. She has Alzheimer's and increasing mobility issues. It was a very emotional time but it soon became clear it was the right decision. The staff at the Hallamshire have a fantastic approach and attitude, being prepared to go the extra mile. There are regular activities to keep residents involved and stimulated. This all comes together to create a caring, friendly and positive environment.
It's now five months since Mum moved in. I've been consistently pleased and grateful for the quality and cheerfulness of the staff and the quality, variety and frequency of the activities organised for residents.
More than happy with the care and service received. Staff are extremely caring and attentive. Would recommend the Hallamshire to friends.
My mother is well looked after. The staff are very caring and friendly. Living abroad, it's peace of mind for me to know that my mother is well taken care of, even though she often needs a lot of encouragement to take part in the activities on offer.
The food must be good because my mother has put on a lot of weight since she moved in.
The activities programme is excellent, lots of varied outings that my mother loves going on.
She is very happy and loves the carers and her room.
The activities are very frequent and varied and when necessary they take her in a wheelchair and when short walks only, they take her frame.
Extremely impressed with the overall care and services.
A great team all round. Would highly recommend to my friends and family. My grandfather is very comfortable and happy in their care.
My aunt always has lovely clean clothes and looks very well cared for. As a family we would highly recommend this care home. We feel we could complain if we had a problem as the staff and management are very approachable to deal with. We feel nothing is too much trouble. Amazing people running an amazing care home!!
The patience and care given is 100%, the staff are always friendly and helpful. activities are well organized to suit everyone's needs and residents are encouraged to take part whenever possible.
This care home has provided excellent services for a member of my family, I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for good care.
A lovely care home where the staff work hard to help the residents feel at ease and part of the family. There is a good range of activities and the day is structured to help keep the residents mentally and physically active. The food is high quality and the menu designed to cater to older tastes.
Clean and warm environment. Home comforts.
Good food and lots of interesting activities for residents.
Appropriate physical activity sessions (exercise using outside professional for example, re-enforced by staff run sessions) and a wide range of other activities, including music, gardening, games etc. Two skilled full-timers organise these tailored to individual needs.
Family members are welcomed, included, known, a good rapport.
Food is traditional, prepared/cooked to a high standard and family members are welcomed to meals.
A lovely garden, roomy communal spaces with a quiet lounge that is truly quiet, and a conservatory in addition to the main lounge.
Enthusiastic and caring staff, aware and responsive to residents and know their quirks.
Always enjoy our visits to see our aunt, the staff are really welcoming to us and very pleasant, nothing is too much trouble for the staff. Have some really nice visits and also enjoy the entertainment which is put on for all, we also attended the firework display which was great.
Amazing home with wonderful staff offering fantastic choices of daily activities for the residents and also cater for special days and nights with family members ie bonfire night, fun days etc. A very warm and inviting home excellent care all round
From the minute we stepped in the door the day we came to look round we were made to feel welcome and the staff are consistently helpful and friendly.
I have been impressed with the range of activities on offer - there has been the option of trips to see films or to the theatre, visiting a local café, baking activities, gardening, musical entertainment, exercise sessions, pamper days and much more. My mother has dementia and is unable to occupy herself in ways she would have done previously so it is important there is plenty going on around here either for her to join in with or to watch.
As well as the main lounge there is a conservatory looking out on the garden where she can be in a quieter environment, and another lounge where we can take her for a quiet family chat.
Whenever I visited, I always found the staff very welcoming to me and more importantly, treating all the residents with care and respect and as individuals.
Food was a good standard and there always seemed to be plenty of it. The team of staff were young but their informal manner and the relaxed way in which they dealt with everything seemed well suited to looking after people with more progressed dementia. Lots of activities going on all the time and there were many trips out.
In my mum's last weeks the level of care my mum received was second to none and I didn't have a moments doubt that she was being well-taken care off. Checks every few hours which increased to every 30 minutes as her time got closer. My mum died in a place she was cared about by the staff and she died with dignity which is what I had hoped for her. I would recommend this care home to anyone whose loved one is suffering with dementia.
Very friendly, comfortable and happy. Staff are very friendly.
