My mother has been a resident for nearly two years. During that period the staff have been wonderful. She has been seriously ill and their care and consideration for her and for her family has been outstanding. When she is well they try very hard to combine the best physical and mental care to give her the very best quality of life.
Thank you for your lovely comments. They are very much appreciated. Good to know we are providing the best quality care.
Staff are always polite when I have spoken with them. Stunning home. When I have previously visited it has always been clean and tidy. The new manager seems very hands-on and keeps me informed of any changes as requested. My relative has always been happy here.
Thank you for your lovely comments, they are very kind and very much appreciated by myself and the staff.
Friendly staff and management. All the residents seem very content and it's nice to see them enjoying activities. I’ve noticed there is always entertainment and activities on big occasions, for example VE Day etc. Very pleased with the care and attention my friend receives.
Thank you for your lovely comments. I will pass them on to the staff. Activities and entertainment are very important to our residents at Hallamshire.
Recently visited an old friend. Staff friendly and caring and very helpful, explained visiting procedures clearly. The home is decorated beautifully throughout, with lots of entertainment and activities happening.
Hallamshire strive to provide high standards of care and maintain a beautiful environment for the residents.
The Hallamshire care home is definitely a home from home. The food is good and plentiful. The staff are all patient and caring, taking time to focus on the residents. There are plenty of activities to keep everyone active. I would recommend the Hallamshire care home to anyone needing residential care.
Thank you very much for your kind comments. The staff work very hard to ensure the highest standard of care can be provided.
My mum moved into Hallamshire Care Home in December due to worsening dementia symptoms. The staff and manager were wonderful at a very upsetting time. Mum has some challenging issues with her dementia, but the staff have all really helped her settle in, to the very best of their ability. She also has some friends she's palled up with and she has been engaging in some of the activities. To be able to look for photos of my lovely mum engaged in things with other residents such as crafts, and movement class is a real comfort to me. Mum's room is always spotless, and Mum always has her hair done nicely, her make-up done, and often her beloved earrings in place, which to me just shows the extra level of care that is shown here. So far, I have to say the home has exceeded my expectations, and the beautiful grounds are an added bonus!
Thank you for your review, its lovely for the staff to know all their hard work is recognised.
The home and the decor are of a very high standard. The staff and the manager were very helpful and made my friends stay exceptional.
I would recommend this care home to anyone.
I am really pleased your friend enjoyed there stay with us.
My relative stayed at this care home for a recent respite stay. I found the admission process very easy. Excellent communication from the home manager, and all round fantastic care given. I would not hesitate for my mother to return to this home if need be.
Thank you, your kind words are very much appreciated by the team.
Always great, the staff are amazing and residents well cared for.
Many thanks for taking the time to leave us your thoughts and a review, the home really does appreciate it. I am so pleased that you have rated us 5 out of 5 in so many sections and that you feel that there is an amazing staff team and that you feel everyone is looked after really well. Many thanks again
Since moving to the home, her health has improved and Mum is very happy in a safe and caring environment. The Management and staff continue to be excellent, particularly in the most recent challenging times. The prompt decision to "close" the home to visitors and families at the beginning of the Covid outbreak was clearly a difficult but necessary decision. The visiting tent in the garden is a great idea and the most successful way to meet loved ones in a safe and caring environment. The dedication of all the management and staff, levels of care and humour is inspirational. Finally, the entertainment packages provided on a daily, weekly basis continue to be stimulating and good fun.
Afternoon, many thanks for taking the time to share your views with everyone regarding the Hallamshire Care Home. We really do appreciate it and know that it helps others that are looking for Care too. We are grateful for your lovely comments and are very pleased that you are happy with the Care Provided, I will make sure that your comments are shared with all the staff. Many thanks again.
It was a very difficult decision choosing a home for our mum and we visited many homes in the area. We are so pleased we chose Hallamshire as she has been very happy there and we have felt extremely comfortable that she is receiving great care and love. The home has a good family feel to it with many visitors knowing other resident's names and saying hello and chatting with them. The staff are great and it is clear they care for their residents very much despite how difficult some of them might be at times. There are lots of activities both in and out of the home (pre-Covid) and there is plenty of communication of this, with photos etc. I would definitely recommend this home and would make the same choice if doing it all again.
Afternoon David, thank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughts and views on the Hallamshire Care Home, we really appreciate you doing that. Thank you for your lovely comments and we are all so pleased that you feel this way and are this happy with the Care your Mother receives, I will share your comments with the staff team. Many thanks again.
Mum has been very well cared for in the Hallamshire for 6-years now and clearly feels safe and looked after. Covid-19 has been a massive challenge, and I have been so impressed by the dedication of the staff and their determined good humour, good cheer and resourcefulness. They have done their absolute best to give residents a good quality of life and provide a positive environment. Their care and concern are very evident.
Many thanks, Margaret for your kind words and for taking the time to share your thoughts with us and others online, as a Home we really appreciate it, especially during these difficult times.
Our mum went to the Hallamshire for respite care in March and, once lockdown began, ended up becoming a permanent resident. The staff have been absolutely amazing at making the transition easier for her and we cannot thank them enough for all they have done. In what has been a difficult time for everyone, it is so good to know that Mum is being cared for and great to see what she is up to with their daily activity posts on the blog. Given the limitations over what the staff can do without visiting entertainment, the amount of activities they put on for the residents is also fantastic. Finally, we are very thankful for their innovative way of allowing visitors via their marquee – it has been wonderful for our family.
Good afternoon Sarah, many thanks for your lovely comments about the Care Home and the Staff team, we really are grateful for you taking the time to share those with us and other potential residents. I am so pleased that you are all happy with the care and support that your Mother is enjoying here...
During the current coronavirus pandemic, she couldn't have been in a better or safer place. It's been tough not seeing her over the last 3 months while the necessary restrictions have been in place. However, we've had very regular updates about the activities the home have been providing with photos and video messages of her looking very happy, safe and well. These have been lovely and extremely thoughtful.
On the 5th of June, my Grandmother celebrated her 98th birthday. We were delighted that the Hallamshire had just organised a fantastic way for family members to visit residents in a purpose-built double marquee. This is a very personal experience where you can really interact properly with you loved one and the staff with the added reassurance of a plastic screen.
This is such an amazing place and it's been run by amazing people. Thanks to you all.
Thank you so so much for taking the time to share your thoughts and feelings about the Hallamshire, and we are so pleased about how you feel regarding the Home and Staff. It is an absolute pleasure looking after your grandmother, and I will share your lovely comments with all the team. Thank you again.
All the staff are lovely and caring and really look after mum plus they make the families and friends visiting most welcome and actually encourage you to take part in any of the activities on offer if you want to.
However a huge thank you must be said to everyone during COVID-19 for keeping everyone safe and well. Also for the imaginative ways they have kept everyone occupied plus the ways used to keep relatives informed. This has helped to give peace of mind to me whilst I have been unable to see mum on a regular basis during these trying times. Thank you!
Thank you, Zena, for taking the time to share your thoughts with everyone. We really appreciate your comments and are so pleased that you are this happy with the care of your mother. All the best wishes from everyone at Hallamshire.
Although my Mother has been at the Hallamshire for several years and I have always been extremely impressed, I can not praise the Home enough for how it has conducted itself over the last few difficult weeks. To have remained free of COVID throughout this distressing period is a testament to the staff and Manager. The idea of the outdoor visitor tent is amazing and means that once again I can visit after 14 long weeks without contact. My Mother looks well and happy - I am so very grateful to the Home and everything that they have done.
Thank you again from all the staff at Hallamshire.
Mum has been a resident for four years and she has been cared for so well during that time. All the staff are kind, caring, patient and good-humoured. The Home makes sure that the staff are trained and that they have frequent updates and refresher courses so that they are abreast of changes. This means that I can feel secure in the knowledge that she is getting the best possible care from staff who genuinely love her. There are daily activities and entertainment- I think that is why Mum's condition has been so stable since she went to live there. They are happy to see you at any time (pre-Covid) and have arranged for a temporary tent in the garden so that we can meet our loved ones in a safe environment now that restrictions have been lifted a little. The last 3 months have been a stressful time for us all, but I have been reassured that Mum is being kept safe, comfortable and entertained throughout.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us such a lovely review, we really appreciate your comments and are so pleased that you feel so comfortable with your Mother here with us. I will share your comments with the team. Thank you again from all the staff here at Hallamshire.
The Hallamshire Care home has transformed life for Mum and us, by giving her care and support in a friendly and stimulating environment.
In these uncertain times, it is vital that care homes protect their residents and the Hallamshire has done this very effectively. The staff have kept us informed and involved through daily Facebook updates, with photographs of activities showing our loved ones looking well and happy. We have had personal messages and video calls but the highlight was last Saturday, my mother's birthday when we were encouraged to visit the newly erected gazebo that allowed us to feel as though we were all in the same room, but with a very effective wall and a plastic window between us. After three months apart, it was magical.
Having visited many care homes we found the Hallamshire to be very welcoming and friendly as they showed us around. It is difficult to choose a care home, but we went on our initial impressions. I am pleased that we went with our instincts as we could not have found a more caring, loving place for my mother. All of the staff work so hard; management, carers, activities team, cooks, cleaners, laundry are so friendly, not only to the residents but to the visitors too. They knew who we were by name too and it felt like Mum was been cared for by family. Mum sadly passed away in May 2019, and the level of care that she received from November 2018 when she first went into care, right through to the end was very comforting. Thank you to everyone at The Hallamshire Care Home.
