I am very pleased with the standard of care given to my father. All staff are friendly and it is clear that they care for the residents, are interested in each person and want to give high quality care. Activities are varied and interesting and designed to include everyone and their individual interests - there are also lots of trips out. Rooms and other facilities are clean and well-ordered, garden nicely kept, rooms are comfortable with good quality furniture - feels very warm and homely. Communication between myself and staff is very good and I am kept informed in a timely manner of any health concerns. I am always made to feel welcome and the coffee/tea area for visitors is really appreciated.
Thank you for the excellent review, Its great to have feedback that we provide a high quality of care at Hallamshire and staff go above and beyond.
My husband has been a resident at the Hallamshire Care Home for 5 months and was attending weekly as a day patient for 6 months before that. He has advanced Alzheimer's and can no longer do anything independently. The staff are brilliant and always upbeat. Nothing is too much trouble for them. They also provide a wide range of stimulating activities and outings for the residents and opportunities for relatives to meet others e.g. the monthly afternoon teas. There is a very warm, welcoming atmosphere and I would highly recommend it.
Thank you so much for your lovely review. It's great to know we are providing a high standard of care and also a safe space for relatives to meet and chat with other relatives.
They get almost everything right and where there is a little glitch they do everything they can to put it right. It's not nice when someone you love has Alzheimer's but I am convinced that my husband is in safe and caring hands. He is treated with respect by all the staff and they try hard to ensure that he doesn't deteriorate as quickly as this dreadful disease would like.
Thank you very much for the positive review, It is much appreciated and a great indication that management and staff are providing the best service and care that we can. We strive to ensure a high standard of care is delivered for our residents.
The care that my brother received until he passed away in October was excellent and far exceeds any other care home that I have had relatives in. There are plenty of activities to keep everyone stimulated, including many that the relatives can join in with. Each and everyone of the staff, management, carers, cleaners and handyman are all so friendly, welcoming and caring. Their response to my brother's needs was outstanding and we were always kept informed in a timely manner. The whole environment was pleasant, well-maintained, and very clean. My brother was looked after with compassion, empathy, dignity and respect during his time there and at the end of his life, he couldn't have been taken care of in a better place. His last few days were spent in a calm, peaceful, safe environment. This is much more than just a care home but a real home for the residents who live there. We would like to thank all the staff for the care my brother received, we are so grateful to them.
Thank you so much! Feedback is very important to management and staff. It means so much to know we deliver such a high standard of care. This review is very much appreciated, your brother was an absolute pleasure to care for.
Exceptional levels of care, kindness and all round friendly staff and management. My dad was a resident at the Hallamshire Care Home from October 2023 until he passed away peacefully in August this year and during his stay nothing was ever too much trouble. There were always plenty of staff available when you needed them and so much effort was put into keeping the residents active, happy and fulfilled. The Hallamshire feels more like a home rather than Care Home, it always felt welcoming when visiting, so refreshing and totally different from other homes that dad had been in previously. As a family, we can't begin to thank the staff who looked after dad with such warmth and care during his final days and for that we are eternally grateful. In short, you won't find a better care home with such wonderful staff in the area.
Thank you for your kind comments.Very reassuring to receive such lovely feedback and knowledge that we are meeting the high standards of care we strive to achieve.
I am very grateful for the care provided to my mum in her last year of life, which she spent at the Hallamshire. She was treated with care, warmth and dignity. It's a spacious, clean and well-managed home with beautiful gardens. Staff in activities made a conscious effort to include her and I am full of heartfelt thanks for her time there.
Thank you so much for your kind comments. It is so good to have such lovely feedback and know that we are providing an excellent service for our residents and families. Your mum was an absolute pleasure to care for.
My husband has been a resident at Hallamshire Care Home for 3 months. The management and staff are amazing. Kind, caring, friendly and fun. Also proactive on the medical side when things go wrong. The residents are treated with dignity, respect and love. Visitors are welcomed and never made to feel in the way. The home is clean and well-maintained. Activities are many and varied and for those able to participate offer stimulation and fun. I am happy knowing my husband is getting the care and attention he needs.
Thank you so much for your kind words! Great to know we are delivering excellent care.
Lovely 'restaurant experience' event for my mother. My partner and I joined her in a restaurant-type experience. She is non-verbal with very progressive dementia. However, I felt this was a really valuable experience for her. It was very imaginative and typical of the Hallamshire amazing care team to dream up something like this!
Thank you for your kind words. Its good to know the team are appreciated for all the wonderful work they do. Lovely feedback.
I visit the care home most days to visit my Dad the care home is always clean and well-run. The staff and management are professional and at the same time empathic and sensitive to our needs! I can say with confidence that I'm very happy with my dad's care!
Thank you so much! It’s reassuring to hear we are providing an excellent service.
The Hallamshire Care Home looked after for my mum for around 4 years, at a very difficult time for her and us. Mum was always very well looked after, and the staff clearly cared for and about her. They were also very caring about her family's needs, including being innovative around visiting during the most difficult Covid times. There was always lots going on at the Hallamshire, including events that we could take part in with Mum, as well as daily activities that she was encouraged to take part in. If she wanted private time, that was always possible, whilst making sure that her needs were always provided for. The menu was varied with excellent food, and birthday parties were a great event, with cake and entertainment to suit. The team (everyone) were outstanding throughout her stay at the home, we would not have been able to manage without them. They were fantastic. We can't recommend them highly enough.
Thank you for your lovely kind words. Good to hear we excelled in your expectations with caring for your mother, she is missed greatly.
Whilst visiting my aunt at Hallamshire, I am always greeted by friendly staff and happy residents. Placing a loved one into a care home is always difficult and I know my mother found it very hard but the staff at Hallamshire made the process simple and it went smoothly. Would highly recommend.
Thank you for the excellent review and recommendation; I am so pleased we were able to make the admission go smoothly for your family.
From the moment we entered the building, we knew it was the place for us. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, the place was spotless, but most strikingly, compared with other homes we'd visited, all the residents were out of their rooms and involved in engaging and fun activities.
Dad was so happy at Hallamshire, and felt loved and cared for. The staff are wonderful and gave Dad attention, fun and kindness. He loved them to bits.
The social programme at Hallamshire is second to none- every day there are two different activities and each week, there is a fantastic variety of really interesting and engaging activities including exercise classes, musical performances, trips out, and visits from pets and nursery children. The catering staff are working too and Dad enjoyed his meals.
Overall, I would highly recommend Hallamshire to anyone.
It is good to know we are meeting the high standards and expectations of residents and family members.
Your dad was an absolute pleasure to have known and cared for.
My dad is very happy living at the Hallamshire Care Home. He is safe, secure and happy which makes his children very happy. After a poor experience with a different care home, we feel he is in the best place.
Thank you very much for this lovely review, I am so pleased we have been able to restore your confidence with our care.
From the first contact with Hallamshire, I was very impressed with the care, knowledge and approachability of the management and staff which continued during my wife's stay. After a short visit, I was convinced that Hallamshire Care Home would be somewhere where my wife would be happy and this was the case. My wife was suffering from Lewy Body Dementia which posed few problems with the staff. She was looked after by the staff and nothing was ever too much trouble. The care home is in a good location and on its own grounds which is taken advantage of when the weather allows. The birthdays of residents are usually celebrated as well as traditional holidays. An outstanding feature is the programme of activities which is based on two sessions every day and can range from exercise, escorted visits to a tea dance, weekly trips on a bicycle with seats around local parks, visits of choirs, craft work etc. Meals are prepared on-site and cooked by a resident chef and are of good quality. Staff had professional qualifications appropriate to caring which showed in their attitudes and competence. A well-managed care home which deserves its good reputation.
Its always great to have such positive feedback and to know we are caring for residents to such a high standard.
Lovely staff seem to really care. Activities seem to be well thought out. All seems to be met making for a pleasant stay.
My mum came to Hallamshire in December 2022. Since the beginning of her time here, the staff have been incredibly kind and compassionate towards her, taking her to their hearts and doing their best to get to know her, despite her speech, language and hearing difficulties. The activities at this home are absolutely outstanding and my mum was eagerly participating in many activities she had never done before, including indoor golf, until the day before she had a stroke, at 99. The care she has received since this massive increase in her frailty and disability has been of the highest standard, practically, physically, and emotionally. It is a huge comfort to know she is in such safe and caring hands.
Thank you for the lovely kind words, it means so much to the staff to be valued and appreciated for their standard of care.
I don’t get chance to visit very often but when I do it is always pleasant. The staff here are all very kind and attentive. It is nice to see the activities they get up to and brilliant that residents have the opportunity to go on trips after staying inside during covid for so long. I must say the meals always look great too.
It's so important for us to gain feedback to enable us to continue to improve our service!
I've not seen my friend for some time, due to covid, but I managed to visit just after Christmas. I was made to feel very welcome by the staff. My friend loves the home, enjoys her food and loves all of the staff. She said they are all so friendly. The home is very clean, we went to her room, and I noticed that it was very clean, and smelt clean. My friend also enjoys the activities they provide, she says she doesn't want to join in all activities but enjoys watching.
It is much appreciated, good to know we are getting our service right!
I have recently had to make the hardest decision of my life and place my lovely mum in a home. The only thing that made it slightly easier was visiting this home. The home is beautiful and the staff are all lovely, you can tell they genuinely care. The activities provided are absolutely fantastic and very varied (not just bingo everyday) The home is clean and her room is lovely with a nice view. I would highly recommend this home to anyone.
Thank you so much for your kind words and recommendation we understand how difficult it is place a loved one in a care home, we are pleased to welcome your mum into the Hallamshire family.
The staff and management are amazing and residents are well cared for, a lovely home and good value for money. It is also a nice clean home. Lots of activities that go on throughout the day as well. I would so recommend this care home.
Your recommendation means a lot to management and staff.
