Review from M S (Son-in-law of Resident) published on 6 August 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
Work makes visiting very tricky but mum has been in their care for a number of years and at no time have i worried or had concerns regards the care she has received.
The staff are caring attentive and the residents always appear to be engaged in a variety of events and activities.
The connection and updates through social media also help, given the limited access to visiting. They also keep me fully aware of any changes or requirements to her needs.

In all a great location but more so the staff are a credit to the home.

My mum lived in a number of care homes before she got a place in Nightinghale. She settled immediately, it is so clean, friendly with lots of entertainmet and activities. Its 100 times better than all the other homes put together. As Mum's dementia has got progressively worse, Julie and the team have treat her with dignity and respect. They truly care. I love to visit and am made so welcome, it really is like a family.

Thank you Julie and team.

The home has lovely facilities aimed at stimulating and engaging residents. The staff are amazing, they made my uncle feel welcome, safe and settled very quickly. They spend time to treat him with respect and provide not just the care he needs but also take time to chat, banter and laugh with him. Also a wonderful support to us his family always giving time to update us as we live far away. Couldn't recommend them more.

Mum has been very happy from the first minute she arrived, it was amazing for the family to see how much she loved being there, the staff helped a lot mum took to them straight away, nothing was too much trouble if the family had any concerns or questions they patiently answered them to put them and mum at ease.

It was a heartbreaking day when we had to make the decision for Dad to go into care to protect our mum's health. He didn't seem bad enough to need it but every one of the Nightingales staff have made it so much easier than it could have been. Their kindness, care for Dad and obvious love and fondness they have for the residents is outstanding considering the range of personalities they are managing on a daily basis. The housekeeping, laundry maintenance and catering staff are not just efficient but really good at what they do. The management and office staff could not be more helpful and the whole atmosphere is one of love and laughter despite the ravages of dementia on residents and their loved ones watching on. Jane makes every day full of fun and goes out of her way to include all the residents in activities. It's still hard saying goodbye and leaving Dad there every day but it makes it so much easier leaving him with the Nightingale family who are now part of ours.

Thankyou for your lovely words we were very touched. You are a really easy lovely family to be with. Dad is so loving to all of us with his caring nature looking after every body. It makes our day to know that you are happy with how we care for your dad. We will always be there when you need us.

My mum has been in Nightingale care home for 6 years, she has always been cared for in a way that I would expect to care for a family member or myself. the staff are exceptional, they hug, hold hands, dance and play games with all residents. My mum is very settled here, she always looks clean and smart especially when she's been into the hairdresser who visits weekly! Mum's wellbeing is very important to me and knowing she is in Nightingales is very reassuring, I can't recommend them enough! Well done to the manager and all the team.

My partner joined Nightingale in May 2025 and was immediately welcomed as part of the family, as were we all. He has benefitted from the love and care by all the staff, but I was still dreading our first Christmas without him at home. Instead we all had a lovely time and were involved in lovely activities- parties, pyjama day, karaoke, visiting singers and local school choir. It was such a loving atmosphere, we got so much from our Nightingale Christmas and really appreciate everything done for our family.

My dad has been here almost 4 years and I am convinced if it wasn't for the care he receives he wouldn't be here today. From the office staff , cleaners, laundry, cooks to the carers , all go above and beyond. I couldn't wish for a better home for my dad to be in. Everyone is treated as family. He is always treated with dignity, respect and kindness as a person.

I cannot speak highly enough of the staff at Nightingales. The level of care they provide is excellent and is adapted to each resident. All members of staff are extremely approachable and communicative. In addition to the warm and friendly atmosphere at Nightingales, the accommodation is well maintained and spotless.

My Mother has been in Nightingale for approx 15 months.
I can honestly say it has been a 'god send'. She has settled in really well and received exceptional care. From the manager to all carers and office staff, everyone is friendly and welcoming.
Activities are varied and there is a great atmosphere.

The choice of menu is good and the chef is so accommodating. Would have no hesitation in recommending Nightingale.

My mum has taken some setting in due to symptoms of her Alzheimer's but the staff have gone above and beyond to make her feel at home. There is always something happening to keep her occupied and there are plenty of places to sit and have a chat with her. I was upset when my mum had to go into a care home but I definitely feel we picked the best one!

My dad is so happy and content at Nightingale. His physical health and well-being has improved immensely. He thinks he's in a five-star hotel. The staff are so helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. Even management is hands-on. There is always entertainment and activities which are inclusive to all of us. Recently, my mom passed, and all the staff stepped up for both my dad and me. I could never thank them enough. Knowing my dad is safe and happy is good.

Very friendly and caring care home. Staff can't do enough for Mum and our family. Mum is treated as an individual, and everyone knows her little ways and quirks. She is clearly loved and cared for. There is always something happening at Nightingale, something for everyone. My mum doesn't join in with activities, so it was fantastic to hear that one day she was taken out for lunch at a local farm.
