Overall Experience

My mother is 88 years old suffering from parkinsons and cancer. Recently she contracted a chest infection which has caused her to remain in bed. The owners and staff have been first class. She is looked after totally receiving visits every half hour to attend to her, turning, washing, feeding, drinking ect. She may not recover from this illness and I am confident that she will receive the best care possible in the remaining days at this very special care home.

I would recommend it to anyone. Every one has been kind and considerate to me and all our family when we visit and we trust them implicitly.

Dad has been at Croft House for three years this January and in that time, he has been given a new lease of life, the care given is second to none, the entertainment is good and varied and he really looks forward to the twice-weekly outings in the Croft House minibus. I can only say that dad is a very happy man!

Mum was very well looked after at Croft House care home. She was reluctant to have to go in a care home but with the great staff and comfortable surroundings, she came to know the care home as her new home, of which she loved. Over the years mum was a resident, her health needs were always looked after with care and dignity, even the end of life care was superbly administered. We as a family, could not praise all the staff and management team at the home enough.

Having spent many weeks looking at various care homes in the area, this was the one which impressed us most. Unfortunately, they had no vacancies but luckily in our case, we were able to take care of mum until a place became available. She is happy there with plenty of helpful, caring staff always on duty. Would recommend.

My father is a resident at Croft House and has been a resident for 3 years. He has been treated with care and respect by all the staff from management to cleaners. We have been pleased with activities and trips out organised by the care home which are designed to stimulate and encourage all residents to join in.

My mother has been a resident at Croft House Care Home for over 11 years since she has been unable to live independently due to her advanced state of dementia. During her time as a resident at Croft House, she has been very well looked after; comfortable, safe and kept meaningfully occupied through the wide range of activities which are on offer. The staff go the extra mile in order to ensure that all the residents feel happy, cared for and safe. We have never had any issues with my mother's care and we are very grateful to all the staff at Croft House for their excellent work and commitment towards the well-being of the residents.

We have always been made to feel welcome on our weekly visits and we appreciate the cups of tea or coffee which we are offered on arrival. We feel like members of the Croft House family and we greatly value the warm and friendly atmosphere at Croft House. It is very reassuring to know that my mother has been so well looked after in her senior years.

Our first impression of the care home was that it was small, cosy and friendly- very home from home. We have not been disappointed with our choice for our dear old friend. Auntie appears to be content in her surroundings. The food is home cooked and tasty. The staff are friendly, warm, caring and Auntie is always clean and smartly dressed. We feel that she is safe and secure and happy and her needs are met. The owner is very approachable and confidentiality is prime.

My wife has been resident at Croft House for over two years with a serious progressive illness which has needed to be matched with equally progressive intensive care. Croft House has delivered the requisite standard of care throughout with sustained warmth and compassion.

Overall Experience
Prior to Mum entering Croft House, she had spent just over three weeks at a local Resource Centre for "assessment". Whilst there, Mum lost nearly a stone in weight and for the fist time ever, she developed a bed sore. Mum was extremely unwell and yet after just one month of living at Croft House she had regained almost all the weight and her bed sore had virtually disappeared. I attribute that to the outstanding physical, mental and emotional care she received from the dedicated staff.
Staff are encouraged to spend lots of time with the residents and any requests for help or assistance are dealt with quickly, efficiently and with kindness. (As a health care professional I have unfortunately visited too many care homes where completing endless paperwork is prioritised above the immediate needs of the residents).

Mum passed away in December, but it is very reassuring to know that Mum was in safe, competent, compassionate, loving and caring hands during her time at Croft House.
