Visiting protocol remained restrictive as per Covid despite government lifting. Told to leave after 45 minutes despite his distress at the time. The phone never answered, and numerous answerphone messages were left, no response from the manager. Some staff were seen to be caring and welcoming, sadly this was not the general norm. The milieu was clean, with no permeating odour detected. I appreciate the difficulties of keeping track of clothing etc. However, what is absolutely appalling is the loss of extremely expensive hearing aids and the lack of communication and compensation.

This is decided by the social work teams and their families. We do appreciate the frustrations that families feel when visiting as rules do change during cases of Covid outbreaks etc. We are here as a stop-gap for your loved ones and will always aim to do everything we can to make that as seamless as possible for you.We note your feedback around our phone lines as they can often get so busy - we appreciate it’s hard to get through. All the staff are extremely helpful and I believe they give my Dad the best care possible. Certain staff members go above and beyond to accommodate my dad's needs and my own.

Everything is lovely but we are in lockdown and I don't see beyond the home's pod, which is amazing and I know not all homes have this. So this is what I know, so far - my friend is happy.

My Mum has been a resident for several years now. She has dementia and is seriously disabled. Since she arrived she has been treated with kindness and respect by the staff. Her room is kept clean and tidy and the staff are patient and caring, never off-hand or dismissive, neither are they patronising to these elderly and vulnerable people. The attitude springs from the top and shows in all aspects. The cleaners, cooks, and carers are all positive and friendly, they don’t last long there if they aren’t. Management respond positively and decisively if things are not right. I have no hesitation in recommending Victoria House for those wishing to find a caring residential home for their vulnerable loved ones.
