I'm so pleased to hear that your mum enjoys living at Magnolia House. She is such a lovely lady and always joins in with the activities.
She has become very settled and happy to be there . In turn my wife is also reassured because her mum is safe and cared for. Every member of staff is kind and helpful. When we drop off and pick up they are always happy to see us and have a friendly chat. She is very well looked after and is encouraged to do things for herself with a little help. It is a really great place.
Thank you for such a lovely review, I will pass your comments onto the staff.

Grandma seems to have found a new lease on life since moving into Magnolia House. Staff are always friendly and treat the residents with respect and dignity, conditions are clean and well maintained. Plenty of activities to keep residents entertained.
Thank you for your review for Magnolia House. I am so pleased that your Grandma is enjoying her time there. There is always such a lively atmosphere in the home and this is definitely down to the staff team.
We looked around several care homes before choosing Magnolia House. It wasn't the poshest we visited but we liked the way the staff interacted with the residents & we weren't disappointed, they were lovely and really cared for him. His main issue was lack of mobility along with a host of different illness'. He liked having an en-suite room with his own TV & that he had good internet connection for his iPad. He appreciated the choice of eating in his room or being taken into the conservatory to enjoy the traditional meals they provided especially the fruit crumble and custard! He joined in activities & interacted with other residents whilst looking out into the beautiful garden. Sadly after a few months his health deteriorated, we were so pleased to follow his wishes and he remained in Magnolia, the staff not only cared for Dad but the rest of us as we continued to visit him in the last days. Thanks to everyone involved in his care at Magnolia house Dad was able to have a good death
Thank you for writing a review for Magnolia House. It's good to hear that you recognised and appreciated the great care team at the home.
At the beginning of December 2025 my Mum moved into Magnolia House after a long stay in hospital. We were greeted with a friendly welcome and the most important thing, a cuppa. That warmth and care has continued, and is consistent. Mum arrived weak, poorly and confused. She now has a lot of her old self back. They are exceptional. Nothing is too much trouble. Every single person there is always happy to help, have conversation and some fun with Mum. Her room is lovely and it is kept spotless, as is the whole place. Mum too is clean and tidy. She has a weekly blow dry in the hair salon. Her laundry is done every day and is put away tidily for her. There is good variety of food, weekly menu news and it always looks appetizing. The garden is beautiful and well kept. The residents were out planting in the sunshine this week. There are daily inclusive, engaging activities and residents are encouraged to take part. Mum feels reassured and safe there. Thank you all.
Thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely review for Magnolia House. Its good to hear that your Mum has settled so well and I know the staff will appreciate reading this.
I cannot speak highly enough of the care my Grandma receives. The staff are kind, patient, and truly compassionate, always placing her individual needs at the centre of everything they do. The care provided is excellent and tailored to her preferences, which has greatly improved her comfort and wellbeing.
There is a fantastic range of activities that keep residents engaged and stimulated, and my Grandma really enjoys taking part despite living with dementia this has never hindered her been involved . Communication with family is also outstanding, with regular updates that provide reassurance and peace of mind.
The home is proactive in carrying out medication reviews and regularly updates her care plan to reflect her changing needs. Overall, it offers a safe, supportive, and respectful environment. I would highly recommend it to anyone seeking high-quality, person-centred care. Thankyou to all the staff , and everything you do 365 days a year!

My Mum has just completed a three week post-op respite stay at Magnolia House and the care she has received has been outstanding in every way. This is the second time a member of our family has been cared for by the wonderful team here and after many years since we last visited it was wonderful to see their exemplary standards of care are just the same, if not better. From the moment Mum arrived she was treated with kindness, compassion, and respect from every member of the team without exception, as were we. The home is spotlessly clean, warm and welcoming with a true family feel and as a result Mum settled very quickly. Delicious food, engaging activities, peaceful strolls around the beautiful garden and a pamper in the hair salon were just some of the things she enjoyed during her stay. After a 10/10 stay Mum is on her way to a full recovery and this is thanks to everyone at Magnolia House. She will miss you all. Thank you so much.
Thank you for taking the time to write such a positive review for Magnolia House. I am so pleased that your Mum had such a good stay at the home and hope she continues to recover well.
A warm and friendly welcome awaits you at Magnolia House. It's like a home from home but better because everything is done for you. No washing, no cleaning and tasty food served every day, plus the carers really do care! After looking at many homes in the Hull area, Magnolia House instantly had the right feel. When you visit, it is always a hive of activity with residents always involved in various projects. Anything from crafting, to baking to live entertainment; for those who prefer a tranquil moment, there are quiet spaces to enjoy a cuppa. Their rooms are clean, comfortable and smell fresh, and you can bring pieces from home to help the space feel familiar. It really does provide my folks with the care they need. I would recommend Magnolia House to anyone making tough decisions for their loved ones.
Thank you for your detailed and positive review for Magnolia House. Your parents seem to be settling in really well.
Dad was always respected, involved and treated as an individual. He was informed of the weekly/daily/outings and activities. The activities are very varied and fun and many different choices for residents to enjoy. When dad became more frail the Senior carers were thorough to ensure dad was pain free and comfortable liaising with the GP and the teams involved in his care. Our mother was also a resident for 10 years after being diagnosed with Alzheimer's. The staff showed great understanding of this disease and gave kind patience and compassionate care.
Thank you for writing such a lovely review for Magnolia House. I will make sure that your comments are passed on to the staff who cared for your father.
The staff are so friendly and helpful towards the residents and visitors, nothing is too much trouble. We visited all times of day and night and the care and professionalism never changed.
The building is always clean and tidy, and the grounds are fabulous in the Summertime.
There's always something going on and the activities cater for all needs. We especially liked the Summer Fayre. My mum loved the visits from Lady the therapy dog.
I would not hesitate recommending this care home to anyone.
Thank you for taking the time to write such lovely review for Magnolia House at what must be a very difficult time. I know the staff and Home Manager will really appreciate your kind words.
I would like to say a big thank you to all the staff for taking such good care of my sister until her passing, she had all the care a resident would need from every staff member. I used to visit at different times of the day and on each visit the staff showed empathy and were always smiling, my sister was always clean and provided with everything she needed. I would recommend Magnolia House to anyone who requires total care.
Thank you for writing such a kind review at this, a difficult time. I will make sure your comments are shared with the Home Manager and the staff at the home.
My mother came to Magnolia House for respite in 2021 after being in hospital having had a fall at home. She had just recently had a lovely 100th birthday. She was well looked after there, and I visited her weekly. She was gradually starting to loose her memory and then was moved to the Dementia side. At all times that she was at Magnolia House - until she passed away at the age of 104 she was well looked after by the very caring staff. I know the staff said she was a lovely lady. I noticed on my visits there that all the residents and my mother were being well looked after.
Thank you for taking the time to write a review for Magnolia House. I do know that staff thought a lot about your Mum and will appreciate your comments.
My brother has only been in a short while, but the staff are all friendly, always with a smile, he settled down quite quickly, and the home is always welcoming, and no odour.
Thank you for your positive review. I am so pleased that your brother is settling in at Magnolia House.
My husband received excellent care during his stay at Magnolia House. The staff were always helpful and compassionate despite some challenging behaviours and always friendly and informative to family members. When my husband's care became palliativ,e I knew that he needed to spend that time at Magnolia House, where he would be treated as a family member to the end of his life.
Thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely review. I will pass on your comments to the manager and staff.
I also took Mum to the tropical tiki party on Saturday and can I say the effort put into the afternoon by all was fantastic, great day for residents, caters, family and friends.
Thank you for taking the time to write such a positive review. It is motivating for the staff to hear that they are doing a good job. I am so pleased that your mother enjoys her respite stays so much.
My aunt went into Magnolia House for 2 weeks respite care. Her room was immaculately clean, comfortable and well equipped. The staff were friendly, approachable and caring, and more importantly, there was always someone around to answer questions. If my aunt needs further care, I will not hesitate to go back to them.
Thank you for taking the time to review Magnolia House. It's lovely to hear that your Aunt had such a positive stay. I will pass on your kind words to the staff and the Home Manager.

Lindsay is one of life’s all-rounders! She began life with Park Lane Healthcare working in the accounts department, handling all the residents’ families’ queries, fee payments, bills we had to pay and a myriad of other things too. She even used to organise all our special award days that our top performing staff receive for their efforts, many of which go way beyond the call of duty. If all of this was not enough, in her own time she studied at Lincoln University and gained a degree in social work, such was her calling for looking after the elderly and vulnerable in society. All of this led to her joining our regional team, ensuring our homes were compliant in all aspects of care delivery and it seemed the most natural thing in the world to place her as manager at Magnolia House when the position became vacant. Although a large home and with its large challenges, Lindsay works tremendously hard at all times to ensure that every resident feels that little bit special.
