My grandma moved from another home which was vile and always crying terrible with their staff but on arrival to Magnolia House my gran was truly happy with the care she received and love the staff they was great with her they went above and beyond for both of us, the manager is amazing 5* from us. The grounds are fab my grand loved them. I couldn't fault Magnolia House at all everything is catered for the residents and family. 5* Thank you.
Thank you for writing such a lovely review at such a difficult time. I am so pleased that your Grandma settled so well at Magnolia House. The staff will really appreciate feedback.
I have 2 relatives being cared for at Magnolia House. Staff and managers are warm and friendly. They have been professional, supportive and pragmatic in challenging situations. Home environments are clean and well maintained with a beautiful garden. There are a huge number of activities on offer and many trips out and about. The residents are friendly and always say how much they enjoy living at Magnolia House.
Thank you for writing such a positive review. The staff and manager really appreciate hearing that they are making a difference.
highly enough.
She was given the best care available, nothing was ever too much trouble. We visited every day and were kept very well informed every day. No searching for a staff member, they found us.
They treated her with kindness, respect and dignity throughout her stay, encouraging her when possible.
All the staff are always happy, polite and very helpful , an excellent team.
Thank you.
We are very sorry for the loss of your mother in law. Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, I will pass your comments onto the staff.
It's actually hard to put a date on this review as over the past years my mum has lived in Magnolia House she has been well cared for by very conscientious considerate staff. I found it difficult and still do that she had to move into the dementia ward agreed totally with the decision but feel personally that she is drifting further away from reality. All the staff from the cleaners to the manager work extremely hard to provide a really good service to the residents including my mum. Just want to say thank you to them all
Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We will certainly pass on your appreciation to the staff
The care provided at the home is excellent. All the staff are very attentive and treat the residents as though they are their own family. There are plenty of activities for the residents to take part in. It is also lovely to see the outside space looking vibrant with the plants and flowers.
Thank you for your kind words. The staff really appreciate such positive feedback.
My husband, and I cannot thank the staff enough for all the kindness and patience that has been shown to her. We have all been made to feel welcome into a friendly and homely environment.
I cannot recommend Magnolia House highly enough.
Thank you x
Thank you for your kind words. I will make sure that your review is shared with the manager and the team.
All of the Team at Magnolia House are welcoming, attentive and cheerful, to both me as visitor, and my Uncle as a resident. The rooms and the communal areas are fantastic, with a variety of spaces to meet everyone's needs. The gardens are glorious and the Activities Team do a brilliant job of organising events and excursions. The improvement in my Uncle's demeanour and wellbeing since he moved to Magnolia House is so noticeable, which makes us very happy. They review and accommodate his various needs brilliantly and keep family informed every step of the way, something with never happened at his previous care home. .
Thank you for taking the time to white a such a positive review. It means a lot to the team at Magnolia House.
All seems very homely, clean, staff are attentive, and my relative has been made to feel at home. Regular trips available as well as hairdressers etc. all very good. I am told the food is of good quality and the garden area is beautiful.
Thank you for your positive review. It is always motivating for the staff and manager to know that they are doing a great job.
The staff were excellent with my mothers care. Very attentive, caring and kind. Appropriate food and cleanliness was excellent. Her personal hygiene was excellent too. Her hair was attended to and a chiropodist when needed. She was comfortable and settled. She showed no sign of agitation or distress which was proof of the good care she was given.
Thank you for your kind words. I know the staff will really appreciate you taking the time to write a review.
My mum went into Magnolia House in Cottingham March 2025. The staff have been excellent with her as she didn't settle into residential care very easily. They calmed her down and ensured she was happy and content . Magnolia House have arranged excellent excursions and activities every day keeping my mum occupied and content in her dementia world. Thank you Magnolia House
Thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely review. I will pass on your kind words to the staff who I know will appreciate this.
My mother was a resident in magnolia house for close to a year. I can honestly say the staff and home are of an exceptional standard. Even towards the end of our mums life we could come and go as we needed to, the carers popping in to ask if we needed anything, ensuring our mums comfort levels and ensuring any questions we had got answered with the care and sensitivity required. Strangely now I have no requirement to visit I find I'm actually missing the home. The friendly staff saying hello with a genuine smile, I can only thank them from the bottom of my heart for all they have done
Thank you for taking the time to add a review for Magnolia House. Your words will be shared with the staff team who are always motivated to hear they are doing such a good job.
My mum moved into Magnolia House in May 2024. She loved the garden and enjoyed watching the ducks on the pond. All the staff were always helpful and answered any questions we had. The home is beautifully furnished and always looks clean and there is no smell like we experienced in another home. Towards the end when my mum needed more care she changed rooms but the level of care didn't change if anything it actually got better. The staff supported us until the end there was no limits on the time we could spend with my mum and no question of how many of us could visit. The staff were with her when she passed away so she wasn't alone which gave us comfort as a family. Even after her death management continued to support us and helping us in any way they could
Thank you for your kind words and for taking time to submit a review for Magnolia House. I will make sure that this is shared with the staff and I know that they will appreciate this.
My father arrived from hospital in a terrible state but the staff were kind and considerate to him settling him in and cleaning him up. Feeding him throughout the day and some days going in every half an hour to give him drinks when he wasn't drinking enough. My mother joined him in the same room a few weeks later.
The home is like no other, there is no smell! Beautiful plush carpets and modern dining areas with huge gardens.
Activities throughout the day and they spend a lot of time getting to know each resident individually.
All the staff are so happy and genuinely love caring for the elderly.
Nothing is too much trouble.
Food is very good.
Sadly my father passed away last month, a member of staff didn't leave our side while he took his last breaths.
I'm so relieved that my mum is safe, cared for and happy in there.
I would certainly go in there later in life if I needed care.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback on the care at Magnolia House. For us to know that your experience has been 5 star is incredibly important to us. I will be sure to share this with the team, and I know they will find it extremely motivational.
Mum lived at Magnolia House for 3 years, during all this time I have always felt confident that hr welfare has been the most important thing to everyone there, her every need attended to at all times. The family have always been consulted and kept informed of her needs and any changes. When mum became very poorly at the end, the care and attention given to her and our family can only be described as exceptional.
Knowing my dear wife is so well looked after allowed me to travel down south to my two daughters and spend 10 days with them over this Christmas. I had no worries to do this. I have always been allowed to go with them on any of the days out which are sometimes organised which of course is excellent!
The carers at Magnolia House are utterly superb. They are amazing, very caring, attentive and go that extra mile. Mum settled in immediately and has never been upset or wanted to leave. She has been taken out with my dad on a very special trip to Hornsea and also out for fish and chips. There are functions held especially for the residents with singing, crafts and gardening. I cannot fault this home at all. Brilliant.
Particular thanks go to the manager who went the extra mile to look after my aunt's interests and manage her affairs. She managed her staff exceptionally well and the staff would keep me regularly informed of her progress. I have no hesitation in recommending Magnolia House to any concerned family looking to house one of their relatives.
My nan was only in Magnolia House 3 months before she passed away but the care all the staff gave my nan was amazing they always gave her dignity, respect and a high quality of care you brought us sunshine in our darkest days, nothing at all was too much trouble. You always brought a smile to Nan's face, she loved you all. As a family we cannot thank you enough for all you have done for us throughout the 3 months Nan was with you. You are all a credit to Magnolia House and we would not have got through these tough times without you. Each and every staff member is amazing with pure passion. You made us feel like part of the Magnolia House family as well as helped us make lasting memories with Nan. Thank you Magnolia House for being outstanding but most of all for being the beautiful people you are.
The support when my mother was suddenly needing care was really helpful at a difficult time. The management responded quickly and helpfully to my initial enquiry, and were able to sort a room taking account of my mother's wishes. Once there the care staff showed compassion and support and made it as good as possible, for both my mother and our family when visiting. It was lovely to see their kindness and professionalism.
Lovely care home, warm and welcoming. Understanding my aunt's needs and always doing their best to meet her needs, taking time with her when she needs support.

Meet the Team (1)

Lindsay is one of life’s all-rounders! She began life with Park Lane Healthcare working in the accounts department, handling all the residents’ families’ queries, fee payments, bills we had to pay and a myriad of other things too. She even used to organise all our special award days that our top performing staff receive for their efforts, many of which go way beyond the call of duty. If all of this was not enough, in her own time she studied at Lincoln University and gained a degree in social work, such was her calling for looking after the elderly and vulnerable in society. All of this led to her joining our regional team, ensuring our homes were compliant in all aspects of care delivery and it seemed the most natural thing in the world to place her as manager at Magnolia House when the position became vacant. Although a large home and with its large challenges, Lindsay works tremendously hard at all times to ensure that every resident feels that little bit special.
