Our modern home welcomes people in need or residential care, including those living with dementia, Huntington's or Parkinson's. Each spacious bedroom offers comfortable and tasteful furnishings and decor as well as en-suite facilities .
Since starting my career with the Social Services as a Care Manager from 2002 to 2017, my dream was to make a difference to peoples lives in their last years, months, weeks and days of their life.
My dream came true in 2017 when I became the Home Manager of Edmund House. I can now make that difference and fulfil that dream.
I have spent the last thirty years' working in social care in several different settings and teams. I really enjoy supporting our residents and staff in maintaining and developing their independence and skills and strongly feel that my position at Edmund House provides me with the opportunity to do this.
I have a wealth of knowledge and experience that I use and my role at Edmund House is extremely rewarding and I continue to develop my skills and knowledge daily.
I have lived in Scunthorpe all my life and live within a few minutes’ drive of Edmund House. I have two children and in my spare time I enjoy tinkering with my car, long walks in the countryside and carp fishing.
I began my career in the hair and beauty industry, where I developed strong client-facing and communication skills. I later moved into the health and social care sector, supporting individuals with learning disabilities in both psychological and domiciliary settings. Since 2012, I have worked mainly within the elderly care sector, focusing on administration and finance. I feel my communication skills and understanding of finance allow me to support both colleagues and residents effectively.
I enjoy working in a care environment where residents come first and where we strive to create a homely, safe setting. I live locally and value spending my free time helping my family and enjoying time with my granddaughters.
I am a Unit Manager at Edmund House and have been a part of the Bupa family since 2016. I began my career in the care sector as a carer and progressed into roles as Senior Carer and Team Leader before becoming Unit Manager in May 2022.
As Unit Manager, I lead with empathy, professionalism, and a strong commitment to person-centred care. What I enjoy most about working in care services is making a meaningful difference in people’s lives every day, and I continue to develop my skills and knowledge to better support those entrusted to our care.
I live locally in Scunthorpe and, outside of work, I enjoy reading and interior decorating. I am also a proud mother to my daughter, which further shapes my sense of responsibility and understanding, both personally and professionally.
I have worked for Bupa since 2018 and progressed to Unit Manager in November 2019. I have worked in care since I was 15 and have extensive experience in mental health and dementia care. I’ve previously worked in care homes across Scunthorpe and surrounding areas, within the NHS as a healthcare assistant, and in the community supporting people to remain in their own homes for as long as possible.
I love working in care because it allows me to support people with dignity, respect and choice at the most important time of their lives.
I’m a mum of three children aged 24, 22 and 5, and also have a 3-year-old grandson, so life is busy. When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my youngest child, and in the evenings I like to relax with a good book.
I previously worked at a local hospice as a care assistant, progressing to advanced care assistant and later to complementary therapist. During this time, I trained as a qualified Reiki practitioner and reflexologist, and also gained training in mindfulness, wellbeing, hand and foot massage, meditation and relaxation.
Looking after people is a privilege. It’s not just about supporting the individual, but also being there for their family and friends during difficult times. I love working in care services because of the people — both my colleagues and those we care for.
I’m married and have a daughter and a son, four grandsons and two granddaughters. Although my dad passed away 10 years ago, my mum is still a huge part of my life, which I feel very grateful for.
My hobbies include NFL American football, and my husband and I attend London games when our teams are playing in the UK. I enjoy spending time with family and friends and going on holiday — Greece is my favourite destination.
I have worked in the catering sector since the age of 19, starting as a prep chef and progressing to Head Chef. Before working in catering, I was a domiciliary carer, which I really enjoyed. Both roles give me a sense of fulfilment and allow me to make a positive difference.
My favourite part of working in care is making residents happy, speaking with them about food, and adapting meals to meet their individual needs.
I’m a mum of two and a wife. Food is my passion, and bringing happiness and enjoyment through food is my goal.
I have been working for Bupa for just over 4 years. Before working here, I was a full time stay at home mum as I took a few years break from my career until my children were older.
I enjoy working in the care home sector as every day is different. I love meeting new people as you get an insight into everyone’s life. The most rewarding aspect is having an impact on people’s lives with small acts of kindness & building meaningful relationships with residents as well as families.
I was born in London and moved to Scunthorpe in 2003. I completed my Level 2 in childcare, to then go on to help running my dad’s business. I am an extremely family orientated person. My 3 children, parents & siblings are a big part of my life. I believe in making each day count, building memories as we go along! I pride myself in setting a good example for my children. I regularly go on walks to help keep fit which also helps keep a clear mind and I often visit different cities/towns to eat out. My biggest passion is to travel and see the world, I love experiencing different cultures and meeting people from different backgrounds. Every year I try to go on holiday abroad with the family. My husband is my biggest supporter who always encourages me to go further and achieve more!
I have worked in regional maintenance for the past four years, covering Yorkshire and Humberside. After leaving school, I completed an apprenticeship as a joiner, working for a small business carrying out repairs to housing association rental properties across Leeds and Wakefield. Around 20 years ago, I joined Bupa in Leeds as a maintenance operative.
I take great pride in keeping Edmund House in the best condition possible, and this is the part of my role I enjoy most.
Outside of work, I’m a keen motorcycle rider and enjoy modifying cars.
