I found the staff to be wonderful when looking after my mother whilst she was resident in Orchard Court. I always felt my mother was well looked after by caring, patient and professional staff. The team provided lots of fun and entertaining activities to keep her and the other residents occupied and
were very welcoming and helpful when I went to visit.
Reply from Tracy Mussett, Manager at Orchard Court Care HomeThank you so much for taking the time to submit a review, it is much appreciated, your mother is missed every day here at Orchard and it was a pleasure to care for her.

I would like to express our sincere and heartfelt gratitude to each and every member of staff at this most wonderful of places. Mum and Dad in Law have had the best care and attention from day 1. They truly could not be in a better place. Especially at this difficult and dangerous time. These people
go far far above and beyond duty of care at all times. To leave their home of 63 years was heart-wrenching but to have the love, care and support of these wonderful people in such a lovely place is priceless. Can not recommend it highly enough. Thank you all.

The overall facility is fantastic. It is in a different league to other homes that my dad has been in. It is clean, and the facilities are great. My dad has a lovely large room with a shower room and sofa area.
The staff are amazing; they will do anything for Dad and the family. The deputy manager
and manager are brilliant. This is where I would like to be if I needed to be in a residential home.

In January 2019 my sisters and I made the very difficult decision that our dad who has dementia could no longer continue to live in his beloved home alone. Our search for the perfect home from home led us to Orchard Court. Our dad moved in at the end of January 2019. The wonderful team at Orchard Court
made the transition of moving dad into his new home very easy. We were welcomed as a family and supported. Our dad settled very quickly and is part of the family within Orchard Court. He is cared for and respected at the same time. He is no longer lonely and isolated, which he was when he was on his own at home. The whole team at Orchard Court are just wonderful. My sisters and I can’t thank you all enough for taking such good care of our dad.

As I had helped to care for my mum for several years, I dreaded the time that she would have to move out of her own home and into care. When that time came, the staff at Orchard Court couldn't have been more fantastic in helping our family as a whole to cope with that transition. Knowing and seeing
how well she is being cared for has lifted an enormous worry from our shoulders. My mother is very well cared for, happy and settled. We never thought it could happen but it has. Thank you to the incredible, kind staff at for everything you all do. I couldn't recommend this home and its staff more highly.

This care home, the minute you walk through the door, is a place you want to be. It is warm, welcoming and a vibrant place full of people who are totally dedicated to the people in their care. Each person is treated as an individual and their lives are enhanced accordingly. This is not a care home but
a home of love, care and acceptance.

My dad joined Orchard Court at the start of this year due to the rapid progression of Alzheimer's. The staff at the care home are incredibly friendly and helpful, I have no doubt that my dad is receiving the best care possible as they demonstrate an amazing level of care and patience with activities
planned out and thought going into what interests my dad.
They have made a difficult transition for our family so much easier.

My Mum came to Orchard court after a rather upsetting event in her life. From the moment we saw her bungalow at Orchard Court and met the staff we knew it was the right place for her. The bungalow is bright and airy and she has made it her own by adding her own furniture etc. All the staff are very
helpful and the care she has received has been wonderful. She enjoys the food and has settled well, especially considering she spent 90 years in the same village before moving to Brigg.

It is a very happy place and it has got everything we want, it's as close to home as you can get. No praise high enough for any of the staff and good humour
and always a smile. :)

Having never experienced care homes before I was very apprehensive, frightened and nervous, but I certainly needn't have worried. As soon as I entered the care home it was like home from home. All the staff could not have been nicer, nothing was too much trouble for them, always with a lovely friendly
smile, a credit to the management. The meals are even home cooked to your dietary needs and assistance given to residents with dexterity problems with their hands and patience they give residents who cannot feed themselves is to be commended.
The standard of hygiene is excellent, having been a patient in many hospitals they could show them what hygiene really means.
In conclusion, whether it's for yourself or a relative, I one hundred per cent recommend Orchard Court.

Mum went into Orchard Court in December 2011 and understandably was a little apprehensive. But she soon made friends with the other residents and the staff. Certainly, in the beginning, she got involved with various activities on offer, including trips into Brigg to shop and perhaps go for a coffee.
She
had some excellent staff members around her and was very well looked after.
From a visitors point of view, the staff were always polite and friendly.
Mum was in the care of Orchard Court for seven and a half years and as a family, we were very happy with the care she received.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.810)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.810) out of 10 for Orchard Court Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 16 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 16 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.910 for Orchard Court Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (172 Excellents x 5) + (17 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 189 Ratings = 4.91
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.9 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Orchard Court Care Home is based on 16 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 41 registered maximum number of service users is 8.2, which has been reached with 16 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
