Since our mum walked into Rathside she has felt at home. Her own home had become a prison that she had no joy in..and she now has smiles every day rather than only when we are with her. Rathside itself is absolutely beautiful. It's sunny and cosy with so much going on all the time. They really do cater wonderfully for both Dementia and Alzheimer's. They plan activities daily which mum can either join in and have a fun day or she can spend the day sat in her own room watching her beloved TV. Her room cocoons her on the days that she can't find the strength to join in. So she really does have the best of all worlds. As we still have our days out? And the staff.. the staff are all just wonderful. They have guided us after a terrifying double diagnosis and helped us when things feel dark. They are wonderful with mums sometimes challenging mood swings. And they all really go above and beyond the call of duty. Care and respect in abundance. Where would we be without you all thank you

Our family has been so pleased with the care and support my mum has received during her stay. From the moment she arrived, the staff made her feel welcome, safe, and valued. They have shown genuine kindness, patience, and compassion, always taking the time to listen to her and ensure she is comfortable and happy.

The home is clean, welcoming, and has a lovely atmosphere. It's reassuring to know that my mum is well cared for which has made a real difference to her wellbeing.

Communication with our family has been excellent, and the staff are always approachable and willing to answer any questions. We are incredibly grateful for everything they have done and would highly recommend this care home to anyone looking for high-quality, compassionate care for a loved one.

Rathside goes above and beyond for their residents and family. There is always clear, constant communication and dialogue which puts everyone at ease. Compassionate, hard working and respectful staff ensure consistency and reassurance for those being cared for. We as a family feel comfort knowing our father is safe and all his needs are being met, also confident that he is in the best place for him at this time.

Sincerely, many thanks to the whole team!

My Mum is sadly very far into her dementia journey. She's been at Rathside for several years now and I regularly thank my lucky stars that I found this home. The home itself is clean, beautifully decorated and welcoming. The meals are excellent and there is a wide variety of activities for residents to engage with if they wish. However, the biggest asset of Rathside is undoubtedly its staff. Every member of staff from the managers, seniors, carers and housekeepers, treat Mum with kindness, respect and compassion. They all seem to know Mum so well, and go out of their way to ensure she is happy, comfortable and well cared for. Her changing care needs are continuously reassessed to ensure she is as comfortable as possible as she declines. The staff have also always been a great personal support to me, and are always available for a chat and to answer any questions I have. I would absolutely recommend Rathside to anyone looking for a home for their loved one.

Social services were responsible for placing my father in a care home over a year ago and despite us not really knowing what he was going to, we couldn't be more delighted with their selection. Comfortable accommodation, very friendly and caring staff and I'm sure Bill will agree, delicious food. Though not really knowing the complete situation, I'm sure he his comfortable and content.

Our mother is well along her Alzheimer's journey and is now unable to properly communicate and carry out normal bodily activities by herself.
All of the carers at Rathside give Mum total care, attention and love to ensure her life is as comfortable and happy as possible.
We visit Mum regularly and are fortunate in that we can still have some form of interaction with Mum and sometimes we find that Mum fully recognises us which is wonderful.
While we are there one indicator of the love given to Mum is when one of Mum's regular carers joins us Mum reacts very positively to them usually with a smile, sometimes even with words, Mum's new family.
Our family have total trust in the Rathside team and can not thank them enough for the high quality of care given to our Mum and Granma.

Thank you.

I have found the staff and owner very approachable, caring and hardworking with appropriate humour. All residents are included in activities and conversations. Medication is given regularly and delivered personally by the senior carer. The food is excellent and different diets are catered for. The meals are well presented in a lovely, bright dining room. The laundry staff works wonders.

Rathside has always been a bright, friendly and engaging environment for Dad and for us to visit. Always made welcome. The meals provided are excellent, we have on occasions joined Dad and again always made welcome. Dad doesn't always engage in the activities which is his choice but when he does he seems happy and content. He has freedom to wander if he chooses but also requires more support recently of which I have no concerns. I feel his rapport with the staff is good. My only niggle is that I can't always attend the music events if they are announced short notice. I would recommend Rathside.

When she lived at home I loved staying with my grandma and have many happy memories. Sadly, she is no longer well enough to live on her own but Rathside has become her new home which she is very happy in. When I visit the staff are friendly and they know my grandma very well. They are kind and caring and make her smile if she is down. I am so glad she is in Rathside.

Mum went into the care of Rathside Care Home in July 2020. She settled in very quickly and has remained happy and relaxed in her new surroundings. The staff at Rathside Care Home have been excellent with mum and her needs, to which they’re extremely mindful. As a family, we’re very happy with mums overall care from her food, room, mental stimulus and physical care. My sister and I live abroad so when we’re in the area we like to see mum often, Rathside Care Home are always very accommodating to our visiting needs and gives us the privacy we require. Thank you to all the staff at Rathside Care Home but particularly to the Manager.

Mum started her Rathside Care Home journey in January 2022. Mum can be a very awkward, stubborn and determined lady and the staff had a hard job on their hands when she arrived. Because of everyone’s caring, empathetic and engaging manner, mum has mellowed immensely. She is now very happy at Rathside Care Home and is looked after extremely well. She enjoys the food. She doesn’t take part in the activities which is her choice and the staff respect that. The manager and her team are fantastic and highly experienced and can be relied upon to answer any questions we have. They give us help and guidance when needed. It is very comforting to know mum is in safe hands.

My Mum has been a care home resident at Rathside Care Home for twenty months. She entered the home at a difficult time of Covid restrictions. This was obviously very challenging for the carers, their families as well as the residents. As families, we could rely on the careful approaches to the situation of the staff and leaders. The protocols were strict to protect residents but we were allowed to drop goods in for our loved ones and we were sent photos and videos to keep us informed of how our Mum was doing. This was such a help. My Mum has settled in well and I feel comforted and supported by the updates on Mum’s progress and health. The liaison with the local health centre is effective. There are lots of enrichment activities such as Musical events, special occasion celebrations and craft days. I would like to thank the carers for their discreet, professional care and their thoughtfulness in looking after our Mum. They are very ably led and managed by the manager who clearly cares about her residents.

My journey within Marjara Care Group began when I joined the company as a 19-year-old care assistant while studying. From the very beginning, I developed a passion for providing high-quality, person-centred care and supporting older people to live fulfilling lives. Over the years, I progressed through a number of roles including Senior Carer, Clinical Lead and Registered Manager, gaining invaluable practical experience and developing my leadership skills at every stage.

To broaden my knowledge and experience, I took a career break from Marjara Care Group and joined another care provider as a Deputy Area Manager. This role gave me the opportunity to oversee multiple services, strengthen my operational management skills and gain valuable insight into different approaches to care governance and quality assurance. After this experience, I returned to Marjara Care Group as Operations Manager and Registered Manager, where I now oversee the organisation's three care homes.

I hold a Master's Degree in Psychology with Coaching and have completed a Level 7 qualification in Senior Leadership and Management. I strongly believe that effective leadership is about supporting people, developing teams and creating a positive culture where residents receive the highest possible standard of care.

Today, I work closely with each Home Manager and Head Senior across our three locations to ensure our homes continue to provide safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led services. I am passionate about continuous improvement, staff development and creating environments where both residents and colleagues can thrive.
