  • Rathside Care Home operates an open and welcoming visiting policy. Family members, friends and loved ones are encouraged to visit residents, and there are no routine restrictions on visiting times. They believe that maintaining meaningful relationships is essential to residents' wellbeing and quality of life. On rare occasions, visiting arrangements may need to be temporarily amended to protect the health and safety of residents, staff and visitors, for example during an infectious disease outbreak or where advised by Public Health or other healthcare professionals. Any temporary changes will be communicated clearly to relatives and visitors as soon as possible. Well-behaved dogs and other companion animals are also welcome to visit, as they recognise the positive impact that animal interaction can have on residents' emotional wellbeing. They kindly ask that visitors inform the person in charge before bringing an animal into the home so that appropriate arrangements can be made to ensure the safety and comfort of all residents.

The car park provides space for up to 11 vehicles and includes a designated disabled parking bay situated close to the main entrance for ease of access. Visitors are welcome to use the car park free of charge during their visit. They kindly ask all drivers to park considerately, use the designated spaces provided, and keep access routes clear at all times to ensure safe access for residents, visitors and emergency services.

My mother is extremely comfortable, happy and contented and always comments very positively on how well she is being looked after and the quality of her food and her care when we visit her, every week. As she was admitted during the Covid19 pandemic period, we have been unable to enter the home to see her room or the facilities. However, the management team and staff have been extremely accommodating and helpful, allowing some of her furniture, books and belongings to be transferred to her room and pictures hung on the walls. The team are very positive during this very difficult period and always have time for a joke and a little banter, which my mother much enjoys and indeed often initiates.

This is a fantastic care home and I cannot emphasise enough how good the care is here. Personal care is excellent, the staff treat every resident with great respect and genuinely show interest in everyone residing here. I particularly like the fact that the ethos is about it being the home of the residents rather than somewhere they just reside and this is reflected in the care given. The care home has lots of activities to help keep everyone active and engaged. The catering staff have worked very hard to achieve the well earned 5 stars and the food is really good. The excellent standards that the home continuously demonstrates are led by a caring and compassionate leadership team. This is the best home I have come across and I am very grateful for the care my father receives.

Mum has been in Rathside Care Home since March 2019 when it became too difficult to care for her at home. We viewed several homes before deciding that Rathside was the best place for mum. The management and staff are fabulous, they have always treated mum with the utmost kindness and care, nothing is too much trouble for them. The meals always look delicious and well balanced. I have no hesitation in recommending Rathside and I wouldn't want mum to be anywhere else.

Mum was placed into Rathside Care Home after a fall at home in April 2019. We truly found a golden egg. The care mum receives is outstanding, she is always clean, warm, well-fed and happy (without exception). The staff are friendly, relaxed and most of all, so easy going with the residents and families alike, nothing is to much trouble. An extremely welcoming environment.

Mother feels safe and secure. All the staff treat her in a first-class manner. According to mother, all the meals are first-class, varied hot and well presented. All national events are remembered and celebrated, Christmas, Easter, Poppy Days, residents birthdays and St Patrick's day etc. Visitors are all welcome and mother is happy in her own domain.

Having experienced visiting several care homes this year to visit grandparents I can honestly say Rathside Care Home would definitely get 5 stars from me. The staff are amazing and have a lot of time for the residents, you can genuinely see they care about them and offer them the support they need. Rathside has encouraged my grandma to do things and participate in activities that she has not done for many years and I have not seen her this happy in such a long time. This home is definitely a place where you know your loved ones are being looked after well, which gives my family peace of mind as we live over 100+ miles away.

Can't thank the team at Rathside enough for the care they've given my Grandma this year. They have made her feel totally at home and really tended her thoughtfully and considerately over some tricky times. Everyone is professional yet caring, strong yet sensitive. Very clever the way the "residents" are involved in daily activities which allows them to maintain much of the normal routines they had in their own homes - I say "residents" in inverted commas because it actually feels like one big family! The entertainment and engagement provided for the residents is phenomenal and I love that there are regular events that we can all attend together as a family.

Our family member entered Rathside Care Home as a result of fracturing her hip, almost four years ago. At that time, our relative was more than at a stage where she needed help and care, but would not see this. Rathside from day one, have cared for her, given her a new lease of life in that she is properly fed and medically cared for. The staff are fantastic and always busy. I feel they genuinely care too, which is so important too.

Before this experience, I can say others in the past weren’t pleasant, but the home has genuinely shown me what a little care and job respect can do for someone. From the owner to all the staff, I can genuinely say they are there for the resident, the resident's family and anyone else involved. Would recommend this home every day of the week to any family.

I have visited other homes in the local area to see other relatives and always find that if I were in a residential home it would be this one. The home and rooms are always clean and everyone seems very caring towards my mother who has been in this home for 9 years now, I have seen a lot of changes but the high standards of care have always been excellent.

We tried and reviewed several homes prior to placing our mum at Rathside Care Home.
Rathesides level of care, understanding of our mum's condition, dementia and overall attention to our mum is second to none.

In June 2018, Dad transitioned from care in his own home to residential care at Rathside. The management and staff at Rathside supported us all so well and Dad settled quickly. The staff are professional and caring, but importantly they smile and have fun with Dad. On the days when he is mobile, he dances with me3mbers of staff and he likes the organised activities like singing to the 'Music Man'. Dad does now think of Rathside as home.

My journey within Marjara Care Group began when I joined the company as a 19-year-old care assistant while studying. From the very beginning, I developed a passion for providing high-quality, person-centred care and supporting older people to live fulfilling lives. Over the years, I progressed through a number of roles including Senior Carer, Clinical Lead and Registered Manager, gaining invaluable practical experience and developing my leadership skills at every stage.

To broaden my knowledge and experience, I took a career break from Marjara Care Group and joined another care provider as a Deputy Area Manager. This role gave me the opportunity to oversee multiple services, strengthen my operational management skills and gain valuable insight into different approaches to care governance and quality assurance. After this experience, I returned to Marjara Care Group as Operations Manager and Registered Manager, where I now oversee the organisation's three care homes.

I hold a Master's Degree in Psychology with Coaching and have completed a Level 7 qualification in Senior Leadership and Management. I strongly believe that effective leadership is about supporting people, developing teams and creating a positive culture where residents receive the highest possible standard of care.

Today, I work closely with each Home Manager and Head Senior across our three locations to ensure our homes continue to provide safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led services. I am passionate about continuous improvement, staff development and creating environments where both residents and colleagues can thrive.

Outside of work, I am a proud wife and mother of two sons. My family is incredibly important to me and helps to remind me every day of the value of compassion, respect and treating every resident as I would want my own loved ones to be treated.
