Rathside goes above and beyond. All the residents feel like they are at home and not in a home. The atmosphere is always a happy atmosphere. Whenever you visit or call in to drop things off, (often unannounced) you are always greeted with a smile and heartfelt welcome. It always smells lovely and clean and the residents always look immaculate. The food (I’m assured) is delicious and the cook always caters for individual needs and is happy to jig the menu slightly or alter times to suit. The staff put so much hard work into this place. There are so many activities going on and special occasions are always marked ie. Christmas, Jubilee party. Birthday cakes are made on residents' birthdays. The rooms are spacious and kept clean. From entering to leaving it always brings a smile to our faces to see how happy our family member is to be there.

My mother has been in Rathside for over three years. She is 93 and has Alzheimer's. From day one, the staff have provided caring and efficient support to her. There is a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere maintained by all staff from the top to the bottom. My mother could be described as a 'character', and the staff deal very well with the eccentricities of her behaviour.

One of the high-scoring aspects of their service from my point of view is how approachable they all are if you have any requests or queries. The physical provisions are excellent. Mother has a lovely bright and airy room that is well serviced. And the food menus would rival those of decent restaurants. All in all, my brother and I have been able to relax through what could have been a very stressful period, knowing that she is receiving good quality, friendly support.

Pleased to hear that you can relax through this difficult time. The staff team will continue to keep you updated while mum is in out care. I will pass all your comments on to the rest of the Team. It's not only the Care Team but Housekeeping and the Kitchen Teams. Thank you

My grandma has been a resident at Rathside Care Home for the last two years and I am so happy with the service they have been providing. She suffers from dementia and was very reluctant to move into care, but it was definitely the right move for her. She has made lots of friends and gets involved in all of the different activities which are arranged by the home. The manager and the team are great at keeping us updated about grandma’s well-being and are very helpful when it comes to arranging visits. The home itself is very clean and welcoming and I’ve been told that the food is delicious! I can’t thank the home enough for all they have done and continue to do for my grandma. I would highly recommend the home to any family who are considering putting a loved one into care.

I cannot praise Rathside Care Home enough. All the staff have been amazing, caring and compassionate in what has been a difficult year for my mum and me. The manager and the staff have done their very best to make the transition into full-time care for my mum go as smoothly as possible not an easy task with a very strong-minded, confused and frightened woman. Thank you to all at Rathside you are simply the best.

Excellent care and attention for Mum. Staff allow her to be private when she wishes to be and encourage her to join in activities when she feels she wants to. Food is of an excellent standard, often going above and beyond to ensure meals are appetizing and have a variety. Staff are very creative in their use of leisure time activities. Senior staff are always quick to respond to any questions or concerns. Often providing photos and anecdotes, ensuring that family bonds stay connected even though we may be some distance away and not able to visit.

Rathside Care Home has been and continues to be a lifeline to me, my family and my parents. They go over and beyond to ensure that my parents are well cared for and always contact me if they are concerned. They ensure that residents are kept entertained and there is always something going on to keep them busy. My parents are settled in the care home and we have no issues or concerns. We, as a family, feel like part of the Rathside family and are welcomed warmly when we visit.

My Mum went into Rathside Care Home in March 2020 at very short notice, on a temporary basis following a bad fall. Due to the fact she was so very well cared for there, this temporary arrangement became permanent after a few months. I have nothing but praise for the manager and all the staff who look after my mum so very well. She is encouraged to be as independent as possible, to participate in the activities and to mix with other residents. She 'loves' the meals and particularly enjoys the special occasions like 'Mr Music'. She sees it as a real treat to have her hair and nails done. Very recently she had a seizure and throughout that night the fantastic staff stayed with her until the ambulance arrived. Staff kept me fully informed and liaised with the hospital whilst we were there. My mum could not wait to return 'home' and the sheer delight on her face when she returned was something that will stay with me forever. I have peace of mind that my mum is safe, well looked after and well-cared for.

My mum has been a resident for the last four years and I am very happy with the care she receives. The home is clean and very well run. There is good communication between the home and myself and we are kept up to date on all things. The manager is very friendly and is on the ball at all times, especially over the last two years. The staff are all friendly and I am very happy to leave my mum in their care and know she will be well looked after. Entertainment is good, in fact, they have a better social life than I do. Full marks to Rathside Care Home and its staff and thank you for taking care of my mum.

My Mum’s decline was very rapid and I found myself having to find a care home for her at short notice. I can’t begin to express how thankful I am that there was a place for her at Rathside Care Home. Mum had some trouble settling in but the staff have done everything they can to help and encourage her and now she seems much happier. Every member of staff I have encountered is professional, dedicated, respectful, friendly, caring and seems genuinely happy to be there. Mum is at ease and relaxed around the staff, which is wonderful to see. Access to the home has been limited due to Covid restrictions but the in-house facilities seem excellent. Mum has been very complimentary about the food and special attention is paid to her diet to help her put on some weight. A few more updates when Mum first moved in would have been good and replies to queries can be a little slow but I really cannot fault Rathside or its staff. I would recommend it without hesitation and am grateful for all they do for Mum.

The management and all the staff are all amazing carers and delighted we chose Rathside for my father. He has been in the home since April 2020 and he now looks better than he did 5 years ago. Through the difficult times with Covid, they have been sympathetic with the family's needs and accommodated visits when they were allowed even at short notice. The home certainly meets and excels in all the care needs for my father. Well done Rathside.

I would like to thank all the staff at Rathside for caring for my mother in these difficult circumstances. I always receive a warm smile and a caring sensitive approach whenever I visit or speak over the phone.
It's been challenging times during this pandemic and now the visits have stopped the staff have gone over and beyond expectations sending me photos of my mother to let me know hows she's doing. It's so lovely to see my mum engaging in different activities and looking so happy and content.

From my very first visit to Rathside, the staff have always exceeded my expectations. My Grandma's dementia progressively became worse, to the point that there was no option but to consider a care home. Rathside made this very difficult time much easier. The whole team were, and are, extremely warm, caring and willing to answer any questions. They also clearly genuinely care for their residents and have their best interests at heart. Since my Grandma has been staying with them, she has regained her mojo. She loves spending time with her new friends, enjoys the food and entertainment on offer and appreciates being at a place in which she feels safe. Overall, Rathside has dramatically helped my Grandma's emotional wellbeing and given me the peace of mind that she is safe and happy.

My journey within Marjara Care Group began when I joined the company as a 19-year-old care assistant while studying. From the very beginning, I developed a passion for providing high-quality, person-centred care and supporting older people to live fulfilling lives. Over the years, I progressed through a number of roles including Senior Carer, Clinical Lead and Registered Manager, gaining invaluable practical experience and developing my leadership skills at every stage.

To broaden my knowledge and experience, I took a career break from Marjara Care Group and joined another care provider as a Deputy Area Manager. After this experience, I returned to Marjara Care Group as Operations Manager and Registered Manager, where I now oversee the organisation's three care homes.

I am passionate about continuous improvement, staff development and creating environments where both residents and colleagues can thrive.
