St John's House

We used St Johns House for the first time at the end of August for a week of respite care for my 91 year old dad. I found the home very welcoming. The manager, Darius, showed us around and was very thorough and patient. We were introduced to staff and shown the room and communal areas. Darius let us know when the room was ready as it was being refurbished and dad went in for a week. When he arrived he was made to feel very welcome by all the staff and other residents. He enjoyed the food, especially the puddings, and said the staff were very attentive during his stay. He liked the other residents and said it has a very homely feel.

We have visited my sister at St John's House twice recently and we were delighted to find her so happy and looking far brighter than she has been for a long time now before she made St John's her home. The staff at the home were very welcoming, and nothing was too much trouble for them. My sister's accommodation is very comfortable, so much so that she told us she liked this "hotel" very much! I would seriously recommend St Johns to anyone looking for a very good care home!

Finally two practical considerations: St John's seemed the best of all the care homes we viewed and was considerably cheaper than the others on our shortlist, which were in Harrogate. And we blessed the location, which was so easy and stress free to get to, particularly for my elderly dad.

My mother had a two weeks respite stay. Her stay was excellent. She is extremely satisfied with the home, its cleanliness, the staff, the state of repair and decoration. She was particularly impressed with the staff. One observation though is there could be a waterproof chair available in the bathroom to aid someone like her with a degree of limited mobility.

Such a wonderful care home. The staff are fantastic and cannot do enough for my mum. Beautiful surroundings as well and always spotlessly clean. I can and do pop in at all times if the day and it's always calm and peaceful

I always receive a very warm welcome from all the hard working carers. Everything is kept beautiful and clean and the grounds are amazing. Lots of activities and family involvement and the food always looks wonderful.

What a lovely place this is, the house, garden and staff! From the moment we stepped through the door the staff were more than happy to assist with our questions and provide a guided tour of the premises. The meals and entertainment have been first class on my mother's stay, and all the staff are very courteous and introduce themselves to us all. 1st class service.

We were most impressed by the kind and attentive support given by both management and staff. There is a warm good feel to everything going on in the home, which is most reassuring. The property and grounds are well cared for and the food is of a high quality. The management are keen not to let standards slip and are dedicated to providing a high level of service.

I am truly satisfied that my grandmother is under fantastic hands and very empathetic support staff!

A well-managed care home with wonderful caring staff. Very clean and tidy and kept that way by the fastidious cleaning staff and maintenance team. The activities organizer makes sure everyone is included and works hard to make sure there are activities every day. The outside space is very well kept and a lovely place to be in warmer weather.

St. John's House is an impressive property set in beautifully maintained grounds with summer houses, patios, and plentiful seating areas for warmer weather. The home itself is tastefully decorated with a comfortable lounge, various dining areas, and seating areas with views over the gardens. Everywhere is clean, light, and airy and staff go above and beyond to deliver excellent care to all residents in a kind, friendly, and professional manner. There is a varied and interesting activities programme with trips out and outside entertainment, speakers, and musicians coming into the home. Management and staff are approachable and helpful. I have been extremely happy with the care my father has received.

St Johns is a wonderful home with wonderful staff. Standards at St John's are extremely high and the care is second to none. The staff goes above and beyond to provide a safe, warm, welcoming, and loving environment and nothing is too much trouble. There are always lots of activities and opportunities to socialise inside and outside the home and the catering team are excellent.

Mum has been a resident for four and a half years here, and I am glad that we chose St. Johns. The staff are caring and approachable, and there is always some activity or trip out to keep residents occupied. Mum feels comfortable and well cared for, the house is extremely comfortable and clean with good food and companionship.

My Mum has been at St John's for three years now and the team are excellent. They are so kind and caring and I know my Mum is in great hands and all her needs are met. I feel safe knowing she is so well cared for. The team are so welcoming, friendly, and approachable. The home is always clean and tidy and the grounds are kept beautiful. St John's is well run and as a family, we are kept up to date on Mum which is very reassuring. Making this choice for my Mum was the best thing we did. We are so pleased with the care she receives and always with a smile.

A real home, always a warm welcome, and everyone always seems very happy and well cared for. My Grandma has been a resident for nearly 11 years now and wouldn't want to be anywhere else. I can visit whenever I like and relatives are also kept up to date with everything that's going on at the home.

Recently I told my relative that I might not be able to visit next time because of the weather. Her reply was "Well you don't need to worry, you know I'm well looked after here".

Everyone cares. They are friendly, and professional and manage to strike a great rapport. The communication with family is also very good when required. Home is clean and feels like home when you go. Thank you.
