Our family is very grateful for the facility and above all for the wonderful staff!
"There's a lot of love in here, wow thank you" This is what we strive for and it's lovely to see this reflected in this amazing review.
All the staff at St. John's are exceptional and caring and go above and beyond and could not praise them enough. It is a wonderful environment for my mum and she is so happy and we couldn't have made a better choice for her to stay somewhere which is like home from home.
It's so nice when people refer to the right choice they have made when selecting a care home; it's a pleasure to be able to look after your mum and we are delighted you are happy with the decision you made. Thank you.
St John's is one of the best care homes I have been in. The staff are amazing, and the care they give the residents is outstanding they really go the extra mile for all their residents. My mum was very unsure about going into care she has now been there for over five years now and loves it.
We will take being the best any day of the week, thank you, that is so kind of you to say.
The staff are so lovely. They are always cheerful and helpful and kind. The home is bright and clean and the gardens are beautiful. The layout means that Mum can see people coming and going as well as enjoy the scenery.
The current leadership team are doing a great job and we know that we can raise any concerns with them and that they will listen and respond appropriately.
Mum loves music and singing. We originally looked at St John's because it once had the oldest choir (in a Book of World Records)! If there was anything we could change it would be to start another choir!
Thank you for your wonderful comments about the home and we promise to look into setting up another choir!
When visiting my mother during the past year I have observed the staff to be well-led, professional, and very caring. The rooms and other parts of the Home are comfortable and always very clean; the food looks delicious, nutritious, and plentiful. Visitors are welcomed and the staff are always very approachable. There are generally daily activities arranged for residents who wish to participate. The staff works very hard to maintain the excellent standard it has achieved.
The fact you would be happy to stay at St John's House based on your mum's experience is incredible, thank you for such kind words.
My mother has been a resident at St John's Care Home for well over six years. I have visited regularly at different times and found the staff very pleasant and helpful. My mother is certainly content and well cared for. The home is spotless and the food is good. I am very pleased with the care my mother has received.
Thank you for the time you have taken to leave this review and the 5 stars you have kindly awarded us in each area, that means an awful lot!
Mum has been a resident at St John's for a year now and is very happy. Everywhere is spotlessly clean and the grounds are beautifully tended. All the staff genuinely care for the residents and are always happy to help in any way they can. Mum particularly enjoys the daily activities both exercise and craft sessions.
Thank you for such an amazing review. We are particularly pleased to hear that your mum enjoys all the activities as we strive to make these as varied, stimulating, and interesting as possible.
Friendly and caring staff in a warm and welcoming home from home. The care that Mum receives is exemplary - not only from the front-of-house staff but from everyone on the team - housekeeping, catering, maintenance, etc. Nothing is too much trouble. We are delighted that we found such a safe and beautiful home. The garden and patio are a delight which Mum appreciates.
Exemplary is a word we love to hear when it comes to our home because it means we are doing our jobs correctly. Thank you on behalf of everyone at St John's House for such amazing comments.
An excellent caring environment where the staff provide thoughtful and tailored support to the residents. A professional and experienced team of staff give confidence that the individual needs of residents are being considered and fulfilled.
Her room was lovely with a separate living room overlooking the grounds.
The staff were wonderful, very caring and friendly, with my auntie giving her reassurance cuddles as she struggled at first being away from home. I met the head chef she told me all the food was made from scratch the residents enjoy 3 meals a day plus coffee and cakes all homemade, plus sandwiches for supper if they are still hungry!
My auntie also wanders on a night, the home had clever devices that alerted the staff when she started wandering. The staff are obviously happy in their jobs, which is apparent in the way they look after the residents. They also provide daily activities, such as bingo, quizzes and exercises.
I would have no hesitation in recommending St Johns and if my auntie needs any other respite I would certainly rebook.
Thank you so much for such a glowing review which highlights all departments of the St Johns team. It was a pleasure to have your Auntie stay with us even for a short time and glad we could provide you with some respite.
Just had my mother’s annual review and want to express how delighted we are with the quality of service and care she receives at St John's. We and Mum are so happy she resides there - we could not ask for anything better.
Thank you for your kind words. It's a pleasure having Mum with us.
Always clean and tidy (rooms, eating areas, bathrooms and sitting areas).
Staff are amazing, they are friendly, and nothing is too much bother.
Gardens and outside areas are well-kept.
All residents seem happy and content and feel like they are at home.
Thank you for your kind comments. I shall inform staff of your kind word.
This was my first visit to St John's for a week’s respite care. I had a very good experience and will be very happy to stay again in the future. The home was very comfortable and the staff did everything they could to make my stay an enjoyable one. The food was good and the activities were excellent. It was especially nice to be able join the other residents for their Christmas lunch. The home is surrounded by lovely gardens which I look forward to seeing more of in the better weather. Although the lift was out of order during my stay, the staff made sure that this did not affect me in any way. I returned home with a greater feeling of independence as I felt safe and secure walking longer distances than I am able to do in my bungalow. This positive outcome was unexpected but very welcome.
Thank you Douglas for your kind words. It was a pleasure to have you at St John's and so glad it was an enjoyable experience for you, we will look forward to you returning in the near future.
I cannot recommend St John’s House too highly. It’s a fabulous place and we have been delighted to be associated with it.
Thank you so much for your lovely kind words, it was a pleasure to care for your Mum and to have her and your family be a part of the St Johns family, we wish you all well.
As this was my first experience of "care home life", I was a bit apprehensive. However, I need not have worried. The staff are very friendly and supportive, providing help where needed while also encouraging independence. Breakfast was usually taken in my room, and other meals were in one of the several dining rooms. The food was excellent. There were several lounges and seating areas as well as lovely gardens outside. The staff organised activities too - chairs, carpet bowls, and sometimes a quiz. Since it was Coronation time, we had a party! In conclusion - all good.
We'll look forward to seeing you again soon.
We, as a family, are very happy that our dad is safe, very well fed and cared for by very caring and professional staff.
Thank you so much for your kind words. We’re delighted that your dad is with us.
Excellent staff, excellent care, and great procedures during the pandemic. Mum loves the food (I've tried it too - it is good). Lovely atmosphere, many and varied activities and a loving and positive environment.
Thank you so much, Alan; your feedback means a great deal. It's a pleasure having your mum with us. Our masks finally came off yesterday, which was a cause for celebration and another step closer to normality, it's been a very long three years, but the amazing staff and lovely residents have kept everyone going.
My mother has been a resident of St John's for nearly three years now. She regularly comments on how kind the staff are. Mum is happy, warm and comfortable and enjoys her meals. A wide variety of activities are on offer to residents if they wish to take part.
Thank you for your kind words, it's a pleasure having your mother as part of our community.
Fantastic! My father has recently been at St John's for two weeks respite care. The whole experience was very positive. All the staff were very welcoming and a great deal of effort was put into making him feel part of the home. He was included in all the extra Christmas festivities, including a meal out at the local pub, alongside all the regular activities, such as quizzes, indoor bowls, exercise classes and much more. Similarly, the standard of care was very good and Dad particularly enjoyed the food too. Many, many thanks to all at St John's, you're doing an amazing job.
Wow, thank you for such a wonderful review. What a super way for us to end this year! I hope you and your father have a super Christmas.
If you are looking for the best place for your loved one, look no further.
Thank you so much for your kind words, Melanie, it was such a privilege taking care of your father. He is so missed by all of us.
