Always clean. Staff are caring and helpful.
Every time I come and visit my friend, I get a warm welcome. All the staff are nice and friendly.
We come to visit grandma. There is always a fantastic, friendly atmosphere with lots to do. Brilliant staff always happy to help. There are numerous family activity days which are great for residents and their families.
This was mums first experience of respite care, she was made by all the staff to feel welcome. When I came to pick her up she was smiling and laughing and introduced me to her new friends that she had made. She is looking forward to her next respite visit.
I visited St Johns House with my brother to see a close friend, the staff made us welcome and gave us tea, very polite. The room was immaculately clean and our friend loves it in there. She said it is home from home.
This home is second to none, it is brilliant. The lady we visit just loves it, she has been there for about 1 year. The food is good, very clean and she says she has everything she wants and more. The staff are great, very friendly, can't do enough for both patients and visitors.
I have, unfortunately, wide experience of visiting friends in homes of every standard. However, I have never seen one as truly magnificent as St John's House which is set in the most beautiful, extensive and immaculately maintained grounds giving relaxation and pleasure to the residents. Inside, the house and communal rooms are imaginatively arranged and beautifully arranged, with little lounges and dining rooms. As soon as I go in I have the feeling that it really is my friends own home. The bedrooms too are homely and of good size with lovely views. The variety and quantity of delicious home cooked food is amazing with individual preferences gladly attended to. The coloured weekly sheet of varied meetings and activities is I dare say unique in excellence. Every member of staff is charming, efficient and really appreciated by the residents.
My lovely Grandma was a resident at St John's House for a couple of years having moved there from another care home in Cheshire when my parents moved to the local area. As a family we were all really pleased with St John's and in particular the Manager who was excellent. When my grandma was in her final days in hospital following a serious fall and fracture a couple of the carers from St John's actually came all the way to Harrogate hospital in their own time to visit my Grandma and pay their respects. I thought that was excellent and way beyond the call of duty.
Compared to the other much more expensive care home she was in the quality of care and staff was much much better and I think my Grandma was much happier there than the other care home. It was a very good choice for Grandma and I would personally like to thank the manager and her team for what they did for her.
On all our visits we have found always found the home to be a friendly welcoming place and spotlessly clean.
My mother has been a resident at St John's House for two years. It is her home and she is very happy and settled there. She recently suffered a fall and everyone especially the managers have gone the extra mile to help and support both her and the family. At this time in her life, I feel this is the perfect place for her. Thank you and well done St John's House.
Thank you so much for your kind words. I have passed on your thanks to the team at St John's House.
Visiting my friend, the home and the staff are outstanding and very friendly. I would highly recommend it.
This home continues to provide excellent care on a daily basis. Staff are dedicated and caring and the atmosphere is friendly and cheery whenever you visit. Although my mother chooses not to join in, there is a varied programme of outings and events always available to those who enjoy activities. Residents enjoy visitors being welcomed with refreshments as they would offer if in their own home, so I hope this will continue. The manager is very approachable.
Food is good and flexible when the meal does not suit my mother. My mother is as happy as she could be, she is mentally extremely sharp but physically has difficulty.
He recently moved into a new room that had been made. The facilities are perfect and the standard is 5*. Better than my home!
St John's house is a really happy home with the most caring of staff, kept very busy in every way. But I was advantaged to the excellent food and careful support. I was able to leave St John's House feeling much better and met some good people.
My father has been a resident of St John's House, Kirk Hammerton for 8 months after a 2 week trial visit. He has settled really well and is thriving. The food is excellent and there are plenty of activities on offer if the residents choose to become involved. Visitors are always made welcome and any queries are answered promptly. We, as a family know that my father is being cared for in an immaculate, friendly and positive place.
Really excellent home. My father has been here full time since the start of April having been in bi-monthly for respite in 2015. The staff are excellent - caring and thoughtful. You always know they and they are keen to involve you in the home. Everything about the home is as you would wish - rooms, food etc, what is outstanding is the care.
I came into St John's on the 1/9/2015 after a seven week stay in another care home. The difference in care, cleanliness and in fact, everything was amazing. Nothing is too much trouble for all the staff, including the chef. We don't have any time to be bored with different activities every day. All the staff always have a kind word when passing the residents. I only wish St John's had been my first care home, and that I never have to go anywhere like the other home again. Well done St John's.
A great place to live, staff are wonderful they are genuinely friendly and caring.
The home is perfect, staff are first class and I am well catered for all I need during my stay.
