She is happy there and all the staff are very kind and caring.
She loves all the activities which are varied, also the outings.
The food (especially the cakes!) is excellent too.
Mum has been at St John's for 4 years and has always received excellent care and support. She has deteriorated both mentally and physically (who hasn't at 97?) but the staff have always shown her patience and consideration. They encourage her to participate in the activities even if she says "no!" and when she does join in she enjoys it! I thoroughly recommend St John's I am thinking of putting my name on the waiting list for 20yrs time!
Lovely gardens (would be nice if hedges could be lowered to gain access to magnificent views.) All residents appear contented.
Tea and cakes always when we call!
Very caring and medical attention and devoted staff.
Love the open door policy. Staff are friendly, polite and so caring. I follow their social media page. So many activities. I attended the open day yesterday and it was a wonderful occasion, in all respects. I just wish the same level of care was available to all elderly folk in this nation. Keep up the good work.
Mum has been a resident for a year and throughout that time has been treated with courtesy, professionalism, care and dignity. She has been encouraged to join in with all activities and events and to socialise. The standard of care has been exemplary, with members of staff often going beyond what they are paid for to make sure the residents feel safe, included, healthy, stimulated and happy. I have nothing but praise for this care home.
We find our dear friend settled and content in comfortable surroundings.
My 99 year old mother has lived here for nearly 3 years and she is very happy here, which is a great relief to us! Every time we visit, it is clean and tidy. The staff are excellent and it feels very homely.
Mum is too old to do many activities now but there are plenty arranged. She is also too old to fill this in herself. Who knows, I may end up here myself!
It is a beautiful home. The staff are bright, caring and attentive, both to my father and myself.
The home is kept beautifully clean, there is not one area of this home you could fault.
Excellent care- has enjoyed his time here very much.
It gives me great peace of mind knowing that when my husband and I go on holiday, my mum can go and be cared for at St John's House. They provide a safe, secure place for her while we are away and she enjoys the activities
Activities are good. Medical services and personal services are provided by other parties and are good. Occasional days out for suitable residents are organised. Food looks good, wide choice.
A year ago when my mother was no longer able to live alone, I viewed many care homes in the area. St John's House stood out. It was an excellent choice and mum is very happy there. The carers are fantastic, thoughtful, considerate and the quality of the food, buildings and grounds is very high. There are activities every day. Moving a loved one to a care home is very difficult for all involved, in the event, this was made a lot less stressful by the approach of the staff at St John's House. I would not hesitate to recommend it.
Treated like royalty, I could not have had a better service. Nothing was too much trouble.
I have nothing but admiration and respect for everyone involved in the care of my mother. She was treated with dignity and compassion in what was for me an extremely distressing time.
Thank you once again to all concerned.
Extremely happy with the decision made following visits to other homes within the area.
The house itself and the resident's rooms are spacious and spotlessly clean.
The standards of St. John's can be judged by one example - they use linen table napkins!
This care home is outstanding in every way. Residents are lovingly cared for in attractive surroundings. Lovely gardens and particularly liked the free range chickens and dog.
My father spent 10 days at St John's and everything was as good as we could have possibly hoped for. St John's is a lovely house in a quiet rural setting, overlooking a delightful garden. The room standard, decor and cleanliness were immaculate and on arrival, it's clear from the other residents that they are happy and well cared for. The food was interesting and varied and communal activities were arranged. Above all, the staff were fabulous and all of them took the time to chat and happily integrate with the residents, giving a wonderful warm home atmosphere.
I went around looking at quite a few homes before I was lucky enough to find St John's House. I knew as soon as I walked through the door that I had found the right one for my mum. The friendliness and warmth of the staff was lovely, made me feel really welcome and happy to answer all my questions. I also spoke with one of the current residents and her daughter, they were both really happy and couldn't recommend the home enough. My decision made and when I first took my mum, you can imagine how anxious she was, that disappeared very quickly when she was welcomed with open arms, a cup of tea and a biscuit. My fear of leaving her left me at the door. She is really thriving and would recommend the home to anyone who is having to make that tough decision for one of their loved ones.
The emphasis from the start was what is best for dad.
Staff were caring and sensitive.
Home was immaculate.
Other residents appeared to be very happy.
Management were helpful, professional and above all else, genuinely caring.
