Nothing too much trouble for clients and visitors alike.
Each time we visit it's a very nice place to come to and the staff are always helpful and happy. A great place.
Excellent professional staff.
Excellent rooms.
My mother is very happy there.
My sister and wife have both received care and I have always been very happy with the service provided. Staff are friendly and always have a smile. I am always made welcome with a cup of tea.
Good standard of accommodation, with efficient, friendly staff.
My mother was made welcome from day one. All the staff have been friendly and caring throughout my mothers stay. Trips our and activities have been great.
Building amazing and the staff friendly and professional.
My respite stay at St John's House was very satisfactory, due to the care, support and kindness of the manager and the carers. The food was excellent. I was treated with kindness and dignity.
Mum has been a resident for over 11 years. She enjoys it and feels at home. The staff are caring and very pleasant. They are also helpful and efficient.
caring and professional staff.
I have no hesitation in recommending this home to others seeking a secure home from home for their loved ones.
After a 9 week stay in hospital, my doctor insisted I had a couple of weeks stay in a nursing home. Not knowing what to expect I was delighted with St John's House. My room was very comfortable. The staff could not have been genuinely nicer and welcoming and the food was consistently beautiful. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and could happily have stayed longer.
She was very happy there and was in no hurry to come home!
The house is beautifully decorated, rooms and areas are all clean, proper linen table cloths and napkins, wine on Sundays with meals, residents' bar, plenty of activities, nothing is too much trouble.
The house and gardens are fantastic, very clean. All the staff work together and are very friendly and helpful. The food that is served is very good and varied. The place is spotless, very nice rooms and like a five-star hotel.
His room is his home and this is fully respected by all the staff. His dietary needs are fully met and he can order different items from those on the menu so that each meal he can eat something and enjoy it. His clothes are carefully laundered and ironed and all the residents look cared for. The hygiene standards are excellent and the rooms are all smart, spotlessly clean yet made homely by the resident and personal belongings.
Because of the excellent individual care and attention that the staff at this care home provides to its residents my mum is now having the medication she requires to control her condition. They noticed her change in behaviour and were able to alert me and to raise concerns with her GP. This isn't just a care home - this is a family home where everyone is treated with respect and dignity and look after each other. Thank you for having my mum as part of the family!
My father-in-law has lived at St John's for nearly 7 years. He often says moving into St John's is the best thing he ever did! All the staff are courteous and there's always someone nearby to help with any queries. Family and friends are made very welcome; it's certainly a "home from home".
I wouldn't hesitate in recommending St John's to anyone thinking of moving into a care home - care is at the centre of everything they do.
My 89-year-old father (frail and with vascular dementia) was in St Johns House for one week's respite care. From the initial contact to the moment he left everything was outstanding. The manager and her team are wonderful - caring, kind and understanding (with a good sense of humour). My father was extremely well looked after and said he felt very safe, comfortable and he enjoyed the company. Not only did the staff bring him out of his shell, but they also tempted him with delicious food and to join in with some activities. There are lots of smiling staff who are willing to help with anything. The home is beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. My father is now on the waiting list for a permanent room. Having had experience with other care homes, I cannot rate St Johns highly enough.
For the completion of this form, I consulted other visitors to my mother to add value to my own views. Respect and dignity aspects came out strongly and this is particularly important for the vulnerable. Staff are always polite and helpful. Medical support is excellent and well underpinned with abundant suitable food and drink. The environment both internal and external is excellent.
Knowing that there is someone there all the time, day and night to assist one when required.
