Surrounded by stunning countryside, and with great access to local amenities and the A1, Leeming Bar Grange is a warm and inviting residence situated between the North York Moors and Yorkshire Dales National Parks. The home offers residential, nursing, respite, palliative, and dementia care. With 60 bedrooms divided between their care units, they think carefully about the type of room each resident needs.

Bedrooms are set across two floors, and each floor has two of its own lounges and dining rooms, there is also a conservatory and reminiscence room, meaning peace and quiet is never far away. All furnishings and décor throughout the home are of an exceptionally high standard. They also have an acre of beautiful landscaped gardens with bench seating and tables and chairs, perfect for outdoor socialising.

Chefs prepare fresh, quality, and nutritional food on-site and residents are able to choose from a daily menu. Particular requests are taken into account as far as is possible, and special dietary requirements will be catered for. Residents may eat together or in their rooms depending on their preference.

A dedicated Activities Coordinator plans regular events and outings, working in close consultation with residents and families to ensure all residents remain stimulated.

My partner has been in Leeming Bar Grange for 2 years. In this time, he has deteriorated but the care has remained the same. Staff are very friendly, they all care about the residents, know each resident by their first names. Activities are excellent, particularly the visits from local school children
which stimulates residents with dementia/Alzheimers. The only thing is "where do all his socks go?"

Staff exceptionally and unvaryingly kind to residents which is the most important thing of all Any problems are trivial but the quality of the care (and of the food) provided is evidential by mum's condition.
She's fitter and calmly cheerful, very different from 4 years ago. She has hardly any falls
now and those are very minor. Previously, she fell often and was in hospital several times. This is a tribute to Leeming Bar Grange Care Home.

Shortage of staff which means, in a rush and residents seem to be sleeping all the time. The care is not adequate, staff changes mean they don't bond with the residents.

I was a respite care client for a month.
The staff are wonderful, and they create the warm heart of this care home. They are universally kind, helpful, informative, and professionally skilled.
The whole establishment runs smoothly - the staff help each other immediately when they see it is needed.
During my stay, there were several occasions when I was given unexpected extra help.
The food is excellent, with well designed and balanced menus.
All this creates a very happy atmosphere. I would be happy to go back when I next want respite care, or eventually long-term care.

We were looking for a month's respite care for my 92-year-old aunt whilst my husband had a heart operation. On first viewing of Leeming Bar Grange, we were impressed by the friendly atmosphere and professionalism of the staff, the cleanliness and the way in which the residents looked cared for. When
my husband suffered a stroke the staff were amazing and could not have been more helpful, so I could concentrate on my husband.


My aunt stayed for 3 months and said it was very comfortable and everyone was very friendly.


She has vascular dementia, Alzheimer’s, macular degeneration and a colostomy bag. She is also notoriously difficult to please and can be quite awkward. The staff handled her very well. She also needed a routine operation during her stay. When I took her for the pre-assessment the nurse was very impressed with the information the home provided and also with the condition of her skin.


I felt welcome to visit at any time. If we need respite care in the future, we will certainly return.

Having visited my father-in-law regularly over the last 3 months the home always seems to be clean and tidy and the staff are always friendly and helpful interacting well with the residents. There always seems to be plenty of varied activities going on if people wish to take part, but also quiet areas
if people just wish to sit.

He has now been residing in the home for 2 months and unfortunately seems to have become less mobile than he was, due to his illness. He has been cared for by the staff at Leeming Bar Grange in a very caring and professional way. They have afforded him his dignity at all times. When we visit, he always
looks clean and cared for. We have always found the staff to be very friendly, open and honest with us regarding his welfare. The home is always kept clean and smells fresh. The bedrooms are well equipped. The activities calendar offers a wide variety of entertainment. The home is always nice and warm and has a homely atmosphere about. During his stay we, the family, have had a peace of mind, knowing he is with people who are well equipped to care for his needs. He is in his 93rd year and has become very frail and confused now. We would be very happy for him to become a permanent resident here, as we believe Leeming Bar Grange is a high achiever in the care of the elderly.

When my sister and I first viewed it we found the staff were very welcoming and friendly. We were shown around and we're both impressed we didn't go and view any other care home. We both felt it was a perfect place for mam. They have given her one of the raised flower beds to do as she pleases.

Visiting my husband with dementia I have been very impressed with the running and accommodation in general. We could not have picked a better home.
The staff have been so helpful and cheerful and nothing is too much for them. My husband has been very well cared for and his room is always clean and
tidy.
In fact I was so happy with the care home that I would have liked for him to stay but he wanted to be back home. I am hoping to arrange more respite in the future. Thanking you.

My husband has been in Leeming Bar Grange Care Home for just over two years, and during that time he has been cared for extremely well. The carers are considerate and kind to him and treat him with respect.
The home itself is clean and fresh, and the residents too, are kept clean and tidy, with clothes
being regularly changed and laundered. Articles do occasionally go missing, socks being the main culprit.
The food, generally is good and well cooked, although sometimes lacking in variety.
I would certainly recommend Leeming Bar Grange to anyone who is considering putting a relative into care.

Generally, my experience has been good at the home. There has however been a number of occasions when I have been unable to find care staff to help my dad and I have heard staff saying how short staffed they are. I have raised concerns about the quality of food and I still feel this is an area which
needs further improvement along with an increase in staff who want to care for those suffering from dementia.

I have worked for the healthcare sector for over 14 years and bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the home. Within my previous role, I supported eight care homes to maintain and deliver training. Over the last two years, I have continued to expand my knowledge and support the homes in various different capacities and this has given me the drive to take on this new role. I am excited to work with the team at Leeming Bar Grange to continue to deliver the premier standard of care and to build strong working relations with the team and stakeholders involved.


The quality of care that all my residents receive is my passion and I aim to ensure that all the residents in my care receive the best and most person-centred care possible.
