Over all time The Millings has 100 reviews.
My mum stayed in The Millings after a spell in hospital at the start of 2023. We found the staff there to be kind, caring and understanding. They made her stay there a pleasure and made the transition back to her own home very easy. There was always someone present to answer any questions I had or put something in place to help Mum. I would have no worries about recommending The Millings to anyone. I know Mum really enjoyed the varied food menu and the activities provided were amazing.
Thank you for the lovely review, your mum was a pleasure to care for within our home. Lovely personality and always fun to be with. We are privileged to of been part of your mum's journey in achieving her goal of returning home. Thank you, Christine.
My grandma has been living here since December and she absolutely loves it! It’s such a lovely and friendly place with beautiful surroundings. The staff are all very friendly and attentive, the rooms are beautifully decorated and always clean and tidy and the residents seem really happy. There’s always something going on, lots of activities as well as the freedom to have your own space. As my grandma says, “you really can’t fault it!”.
Thank you so much for such lovely feedback, Eve, it's really appreciated by us all. It's a pleasure having your grandma with us and we've got so much planned for the next few months!
The Millings have offered my mother a safe and caring environment over the past 5 months. This was whilst Mum transitioned into a new apartment after wanting to leave her own home after 28 years. She became very settled, happy and engaged from the very commencement of her stay. This enabled my sister and I to concentrate on her next move knowing there were attentive and caring people looking after her. The range of activities was just what Mum needed to ensure she remained active and made friends that will remain in her life into the future. Mum loves Bedale and the area was familiar to her helping to ease the move. The staff are friendly, loving and professional. The Millings is a happy place, in beautiful surroundings, Mum looks forward to visiting her new friends and the warm welcome she will receive after she leaves.
Thank you for the review, Graham. We all miss your mum, she was a great character to have in the home. Your mum has paid us a visit last week and everyone was so happy to see her. Your mum is welcome to visit anytime. We hope she is enjoying her new apartment, thank you.
The Millings have offered my mother a safe and caring environment over the past nine months. She is settled, happy and engaged. In her own understated words, 'I have nothing to complain about'. The range of activities are brilliant, including the use of local community amenities. The staff are friendly, loving and professional. The Millings is a happy place, in beautiful surroundings.
Thank you so much for your kind words. It's such a pleasure having your mother with us and we're looking forward to so many more community trips as the weather warms up.
The arrangements with The Millings were clear and straight forward and now my sister is really happy in her new home.
Thank you for your lovely feedback, Brian. We appreciate that it is a very vulnerable time when people leave their homes to join us, it's lovely to hear that we helped that process go smoothly. It is a pleasure having your sister with us.
Extremely clean, well-presented facility with approachable, friendly staff. Generally, activities are provided on a daily basis to keep residents busy. Beautiful gardens and surroundings and just off the high street. The home is in a beautiful setting.
I am glad your father has settled well, he has become a big character within the home and is always happy and keeping myself and all the staff laughing with his witty personality. Christine (Manager).
My dad has been a resident at The Millings since October 2022. The staff have been so caring with him as he was a little unsettled in the first few weeks. They have provided reassurance for my dad and also to us and Dad is now looking and feeling happier and settling in well. There is always plenty going on, with a great activities calendar every week, so lots to do for residents. The team are amazing and we are thankful to have Dad in such a great place.
Your dad is a pleasure to have within our home. He's lovely-natured and has a great personality. I am glad he has settled well and we have given you peace of mind that he is safe and well cared for. Christine ( Manager).
The Millings is perfect. It has the feel of a country hotel, the staff are fantastic and my mum has settled in well, especially with a few home comforts around her in her room. I know she is safe, well cared for and happy, which is all I could hope for.
Thank you, Andy, for your lovely review. The team work so hard to make the home beautiful. Your mum has settled really well and enjoys her time sitting with the other residents having chats and putting the world to rights. I will pass your feedback on to the team. Thank you, Christine.
Everything is transparent and having had Mum stay in a previous residential home, I am absolutely confident that the Millings gives Mum a comfortable, safe, friendly and enjoyable environment. All credit to the manager and the staff team.
Thank you so much for your review, it's lovely to hear that you feel your mum is enjoying being with us. The staff work very hard to ensure all residents are comfortable, safe and enjoying their stay with us. The park is lovely and I know your mum enjoys going out with the well-being team to the...
My mum was very fortunate to have the opportunity to start her temporary care at The Millings, following a move from hospital. She is very happy and has decided to make a permanent move here. The friendliness of all the staff has helped her decision. A huge thank you to everyone.
Thank you so much for your lovely review , it's a pleasure having your mum at The Millings and we're delighted that she decided to stay with us.
My father has been a resident at The Millings for 10 months now and since his arrival he has received wonderful care. The home is kept extremely clean, tidy and decorated to a high standard. All staff treat him with respect ensuring all his needs are met. I am always made welcome when I visit and updated on Dad's health. When there has been any correspondence received by Dad that required my action, the staff have contacted me promptly so things can be sorted quickly. I am kept well informed of all activities that going on at the home on a weekly basis that vary from watercolour painting and singalongs to carpet bowls and board games. Dad is very happy and is extremely well looked after.
Thanks, Colin, that's so lovely to hear and it's a pleasure having your father as part of our community.
Our experience from initially enquiring and viewing the Millings right through to the day my 93-year-old mother was received and cared for at the Millings was second to none. The manager and all her team made sure that my mother was welcomed with open arms. It is a great comfort to know that she is now being cared for in a loving, respectful and compassionate environment. The manager and her team could not do enough and went beyond the extra mile to ensure that my mother is comfortable, safe, and cared for. She has everything to assist her in making her feel at home.
Thank you so much for the lovely review Shelagh, it's a pleasure having your mother staying with us. Christine and her team work hard to make what can be a huge transition as comfortable and reassuring as possible. I'll be sure to share your feedback with them.
My stepfather has settled very well into the Millings now and has been cared for extremely well by all staff he comes into contact with. Although he has several health challenges, he has definitely improved physically now that his medication and dietary needs are looked after. His room and all areas are cleaned and kept pristine at all times, as are the gardens which he enjoys, when possible. Well done everyone at The Millings, you do a fabulous job.
Thanks so much for such a wonderful review Jude, it's a pleasure having your dad as part of our community and we're thrilled that our lovely gardens are bringing so much pleasure to us all. My mum is the gardener and has done a super job, she loves to see the residents enjoying the sunshine amongst the flowers.
We needed to find a respite home for Dad quickly as Mum fell unexpectedly and fractured her femur and The Millings sprung to mind as we live in Bedale. We took Dad for a visit and were overwhelmed by its appearance. It is immaculate and looks just like a five-star hotel. Dad decided it was the place for him and he moved in last Saturday. They are very accommodating and are willing to work his meal times around him being absent on an afternoon to go and visit Mum and his tea is ready for him on his return. Dad has been there less than a week now and the care he is given is second to none. The food is also amazing - Dad has said he will need a larger pair of trousers as it is so good. I would definitely recommend The Millings and it’s very caring staff to anyone looking for a care home.
Thank you so much for such a wonderful review Jane, the comment about the larger pair of trousers made me chuckle. The food is lovely and very moreish. It's a real pleasure having your dad stay with us.
My dear grandmother, who is over 100, has now been at The Millings for a month and is being very well cared for so it's about time I wrote this review. I want to thank The Millings for responding better than any of more than 10 other Care Homes in the area that I contacted with an urgent enquiry as to whether they would be able to provide recuperative (and potentially long term) care for my grandmother. At the time, she was in hospital following a fall and considered medically fit for discharge but not safe to return home without 24 hour care in place i.e. she was considered to be "bed blocking". If The Millings had not come to the rescue, she would have had to wait for a place on a rehabilitation ward. I perish to think what harm further enforced bed rest might have caused. The Millings truly justifies the accolade "outstanding" because it was the only place which didn't hesitate because of her age, but got on with assessing her needs and making arrangements for her arrival.
Thank you Tim so much for your lovely review, I'm sure it may help to reassure relatives who find themselves in similar circumstances. It's a real pleasure having your grandmother as part of our community.
My father has only been a resident for a short while but from his first visit, he was clear that he wanted to come and stay, without looking elsewhere. The standards of cleanliness and décor are outstanding and everyone was so welcoming. Dad has settled in well and especially loves the garden and being able to join in activities where he is able. Knowing that he is in a safe environment where he is well looked after is so important, especially as I will be living some distance away. Thank you to all the team.
Thank you so much for your kind comments. I have shared them with the team. It's a real pleasure having your dad as part of our community.
I visited my Dad at The Millings in April on a trip from Australia and the staff went out of their way to accommodate me despite all the Covid issues. I managed to see my Dad every day in a two week period and it was lovely to see how well cared for he was and to interact with the staff and get to know them a little. Happy my Dad is in a great place with good care and excellent food. He’s a long way away from me, so knowing he is being well looked after is a comfort.
Thank you so much for your kind words, I know that your dad loved your visit. We hope to see you again soon!
Well done, The Millings.
Thank you so much for your lovely review and kind words. It was a pleasure taking care of your mum; she is welcome anytime! Thanks again.
The Millings is a high-end residential care home with impeccable credentials and it shows. My parents both moved in today. The staff could not have been more welcoming, professional and helpful, It really does have that home from home feel. Their rooms are lovely. Nothing is too much bother for the staff, who appear to genuinely care about their residents. Being Friday, my parents really enjoyed the fish and chips!
Thank you so much Tim, what a lovely review. We are delighted your parents have joined us. They did pick a good day to move in, the fish and chips are lovely.
Granny had a lovely, sunny room overlooking the beautiful garden. It was scrupulously clean and comfortable. My highest praise is reserved for the staff, who were always welcoming and cheerful with visitors and never-endingly kind and patient, willing, gentle and thoughtful with the residents. Nothing was too much trouble. Thank you all.
Thank you so much for your wonderful comments Lucy, they are very much appreciated and mean a great deal to us all.
