My Mum has been a resident at Priceholme for the past year. I have always felt welcome when visiting. The home is bright, clean and comfortable and the food is very good and varied. All the staff provide a high standard of service in all areas. Communication was good and I was kept informed about my Mum's care. I felt at ease knowing my Mum was being well cared for in a safe and happy environment.
My friend enjoys the privacy of his own room, securing in the knowledge that caring staff are never far away. The staff provide a high standard of nursing care (and a friendly word with visitors too!). The home is spotless and well maintained. The food is excellent but there is always new training and initiatives to improve things for the residents. I can't praise it enough.
Many thanks for your lovely comments and thank you for all your support over the years.
There is a great activity programme operating and the food and drink provided are of high quality. The home is clean, warm and comfortable.
If I needed a care home myself I would choose this one.
Pleasant caring staff at all times. Would prefer a ground floor room and a pleasant outdoor smoking area.
For the money I pay - the food is terrible. Always short staffed. Tablets which are supposed to be taken with food come 30 mins to 1 hour later. Mostly kept very clean and tidy. Staff who are here are wonderful - except for the kitchen.
Thank you for your feedback. I am pleased that you find the staff wonderful. We would very much like the opportunity to meet with you to discuss your other concerns in more detail, please could you contact us if you would like this to be arranged?
During the last few months standards at the home have been steadily improving. Communication is more effective between staff and myself/my father.
Everything is being done to make my dad as comfortable/happy as possible.
Cleaning is now of a high standard but en-suite attached to dad's room has no effective heating system.
Staff genuinely care about residents and work extremely hard.
When visiting the staff are always very welcoming and caring, it feels like a home.
I had to take my mum for an eye clinic appointment 20 miles from the home which meant she fell out of the usual routine at the home for refreshments and medication. On our return, she was in some discomfort (the appointment was treatment for macular degeneration entailing an injection in to the eye) and staff very quickly brought her a cup of tea and paracetamol and ensured she received a little extra 'tlc' when I had to leave to return home, 45 miles distance away.
Prior to retirement, I worked in social services and am well aware of the situations in a lot of care homes. Priceholme was the exception in providing exemplary care on all occasions and I am very thankful for all they did.
We are pleased that we were able to offer exceptional care for your mother. It was our privilege to care for her. She is remembered fondly in the home.
My father has been a resident of Priceholme since January 2017. I am extremely pleased with the professionalism, efficiency and caring nature of this home plus their friendliness and kindness.
We hope that you enjoy being part of our wider family.
With kind regards, Martin.
The home is well run by committed staff who were always friendly, helpful and sympathetic to mum's needs. They kept us informed and were always on hand when needed. The home is clean, and whenever we visited, there were always plenty of staff around who seemed to interact very well with residents. If anything, her room was a bit on the small side and lacking en-suite bath/shower facilities but did have adequate wash basin and toilet. We were very happy with the standard of care she received in the 2 years she was there, only moving her to be nearer to the rest of the family. Thank you Priceholme.
I would also like to take this opportunity to wish your mum all the best in her new home.
Kind regards Pauline.

We rate most services according to how safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led they are, using four levels:
- Outstanding - The service is performing exceptionally well.
- Good - The service is performing well and meeting our expectations.
- Requires Improvement - The service isn't performing as well as it should and we have told the service how it must improve.
- Inadequate - The service is performing badly and we've taken action against the person or organisation that runs it.
- Not rated - we have not yet rated this area of the service, this is normally because the assessments we have carried out have been focused on other key questions.
