Eothen Homes

The service provided is very satisfactory but is dependant on full compliments of staff both day and night. It is obvious when staff levels are down but the attention of the staff remains high.

I only recently moved in here and everyone has been very kind, helpful and very welcoming. My view from the window is exceptional; I look out over immaculate gardens which are so colourful and well-kept.

However, what makes the home truly special is the staff. My mum loves them, and they love her. They go out of their way to make her feel special. They are dedicated, hardworking and very kind!

My aunt has lived at Eothen for several years and now has advanced dementia. She used to join in all the activities and took an active part, but now she is in very poor health. Her care throughout has been excellent. The staff are always patient, empathic and kind, whatever the circumstances.

I came over from Canada for a month and was able to pop in and see Dad over a few weeks. My two sisters are in Whitley Bay and are in weekly. Dad is happy and well cared for. The staff are exemplary, very kind and know their residents very well. It's a lovely set up. Garden is gorgeous and well kept. The big carp in the pond are a nice touch. Lots of events. My kids played a little concert last time they were over from Canada.

The care home is probably the best one I have ever visited. My father and my father-in-law were both residents at different care homes and this one is by comparison superb. The staff are always friendly and welcoming and the place is spotlessly clean. My auntie seems very happy there and the staff are incredibly attentive to her. I feel 100% comfortable having her stay at Eothen Home Whitley Bay.

I visit my mother and can't fault anything. The home is always immaculate, the food looks good, and all the staff are so friendly. The carers look after my mum as if she was their own mother. Couldn't wish for a better place to look after my mom. Thank you.

Our mum has been in Eothen Homes for almost a year now. She took a while to settle, having moved there directly from a spell in hospital. The staff have done everything possible to encourage her to feel at home, so much so that after a difficult surgery and yet more time in hospital she couldn't wait to return! It's true to say that she feels safe and happy there and we, her family, have confidence that she's well cared for and in good hands.

Dad was very nervous about going into care but he settled within the first week. All the staff are very caring this home is very clean and comfortable with good home cooked food. He has been at Whitley Bay Home for six weeks now and is very content.

Mam is very happy here. I feel she is safe and well cared for. The staff are friendly and approachable.

The most wonderful residential home. The staff are so friendly and warm. Not only with the residents but with the relatives too. It’s such a comfort knowing that our darling family member is well cared for not only with medical needs but emotional needs too. She tells us the staff pop in to see her for a chat if she doesn’t feel like socialising in the main living room. They have a regular timetable of events each day like gardening club, visiting singers, visiting animals and craft activities. There’s always something to join in with and I love that they recognise calendar events like valentines, pancake day and burns night. When our time comes if we needed residential care, Eothen will be top of our list! I could go on all day about how fab this place is. You won’t be disappointed when you go for a visit.

Haven't had much to do with management. At the moment not many activities going on - really love the garden club and the guinea pig. Some days food is excellent. It's a lovely place.

My mother is very happy at Eothen Homes. She particularly loves the pet guinea pig, who will sit on her lap for ages while she strokes her. The home is warm and inviting. The staff are helpful and friendly.

The staff are absolutely amazing. Some of them have been there for over 20 years, which speaks volumes. No matter which role the staff carry out, they all have a caring heart for the residents, who are genuinely loved. Eothen Homes is a home from home - 35 residents means that they are constantly being engaged with by the staff. There is a range of activities if residents wish to join in, and beautiful gardens to admire at all times of the year and sit out in/take walks when the weather is warmer. The food is amazing too.

Our Mum has lived at Eothen for almost 2 years. We can't fault the care she has received. The staff are very caring and patient with all the residents and try their hardest to make residents feel at home. The food is home-cooked and wholesome and our Mum has no complaints. We have peace of mind knowing our Mum is receiving the best possible care.

Lovely staff, very friendly and caring. Lovely gardens.Can't really comment on some categories for obvious reasons, hence the moderate scores on a couple! Otherwise can't really fault Eothen at all and Mam loves the staff!

We have found that the staff are excellent with our mother, she has settled in and is very happy. The staff are always helpful with a smile whenever we are there. They make us very welcome and are very helpful when we make bookings to visit.

The staff at Eothen are like dad’s extended family and for this, I am so grateful. He is clearly very happy and has such praise for the staff himself. He lives in a place where without any doubt, he is leading a life where he is happy and fulfilled. The staff work as a team and have worked tirelessly during these difficult times, for which we are so grateful. They are respectful caring and loving, treating all the residents as the individuals they are, providing the highest standard of care. Leadership at Eothan is fantastic and the care delivered by the staff is outstanding.

Presumably, nobody relishes the prospect of moving from their own home to a care facility. However, most of us know when such a move is necessary. If, or when the time arrives for me to move to a care home, I can think of no better place to live. I know that I would be looked after properly, and I am sure that I would be happy there.

So comforting to know my mother is being well cared for especially in these difficult times. My mother is now very ill and is getting the best care and attention I could have wished for from the staff, nurses, doctors and of course the management team. Nothing is too much bother.
