Overall Experience

My mother came to know Grangewood care home as her home, despite only living there for 5 months. My sister and I couldn't have wished for her to spend her last few months in such a warm and caring environment. It was spotlessly clean at all times. The facilities were modern and up to date and proved to be what my mother had craved for so long, as simple as a bath but one that hydraulics helped to lift her into it. The food was first class with so much choice. My mother was there from May 2016 to 16th Sept 2016 when she sadly passed away. I will always be so very grateful for everything the staff and the Manageress did for her and how welcome they made her and how much care they gave her. A truly wonderful set of people who made an old lady's last few months worth living for. Thank you

From day 1 my father-in-law has been cared for in an exemplary manner as detailed below.

All staff are approachable, informative and helpful, as well as friendly.

My dad has been in Grangewood for over a year and has received first-class care, staff are so caring and dedicated. The atmosphere is always very friendly with lots of activities taking place for the residents. I have recommended Grangewood to lots of my friends.

Never thought my mother would settle as she is 91 years old. All staff are very good with her, especially when she had an episode of Alzheimer's disease, which she will have periodically.

Very disappointed with the level of care being provided. Staff working within the EMI floor are in the main polite and caring but are not suitably trained in Dementia care. Very few activities are provided and too much reliance on medication.

Joleen RaynerJob Title:Home Manager

As the Home Manager, I’m passionate about delivering the highest standards of care and quality of life for the people we care for. I believe that great care is about going beyond what is expected to make a difference in residents’ lives.

I also think it’s important to take a caring approach to colleagues, supporting them to do their best work and to fulfil their potential in the workplace. It’s our people who make all the difference and help us to deliver superb care, so if they’re happy, our residents are too.

I’m very proud of Grangewood’s strong links with the local community, and I’m always keen to enhance these so that residents can continue to feel a part of local life and enjoy a lovely lifestyle. One of my favourite parts of the day is chatting with residents and listening to their life stories. There’s so much we can learn from the older generation.

I have an open-door policy, so if there’s anything you’d like to know about Grangewood and the care we provide, please do get in touch.
