My mother in law is in this home, the care she receives is 100%. Carers have a lot to put up with dementia patients. I've seen with my own eyes how some patients are violent towards carers they deserve a medal for kindness and patience they are dedicated to there jobs. They work hard for there money
and only wish they earned more because of each and everyone deserves it from carers to cleaners to kitchen staff and management. This home is brilliant excelling in everything even the activities keep up the good work. Thank you all.

Washington Grange provided a very safe and welcoming environment for my mam.
Throughout her two year stay, it was such a comfort knowing how well cared for she was.
It was clear how much love, care and concern there was from all of the staff at all times.

Although my mother was at Washington Grange only a short time, the care she received was very good. When visiting her, the staff were polite, friendly and helpful.
My mother was very ill and they understood her needs. The home was clean and well presented. My mother's room was spacious and had a good

Under very difficult circumstances the staff have provided appropriate and sympathetic care for both my mother-in-law and wider family.
We have been able to participate in stakeholder meetings to decide on changes in care when required.
Over 6 years all have provided an environment and level of care
we have been happy with.

During my Aunt's stay at this care home I can, with true knowledge state that the care and attention to Aunty's needs were met with compassion, dignity and a vast knowledge of her illness, which resulted in her comfort and well being at this home. We encounter no resistance from any of the staff as
they were all for the residents and they all do a brilliant job. The Manager and all staff deserve praise. Thank you all.

I have been very happy with the care that has been given to my mother since entering the home. Every thing my mother has needed has been taken for her comfort and health. Washington Grange is a cut above the rest in our opinion, very trusting, caring, honest staff, prepared to go the extra mile to cater for individual people. Everyone is included in the activities if they want, they have a choice which is excellent. It's not "home" but comes a close second. Very safe
environment. Also, the choice of food is very varied, excellent.

My Nana has been in this care home for years and she is made to feel at home. All the staff are patient and tend to her needs. She isn't a loud character and never asks for anything. I sometimes think she should ask if she wants her TV on or music, but she doesn't like to bother the staff. The only
thing I would improve is that they ask her to move often if she needs things like drinks/moving from bed to chair etc. More often. Overall happy with service.

Nikki Mould

Job Title: Operations Manager

Hi, my name is Nikki, and I am an Operations Manager supporting the General Manager here at Washington Grange Care Home. Welcome to our website!


Thank you for taking the time to look further into what we have to offer you or your loved one. Here is an opportunity to look at some of our staff team in the home, who all play a vital role in day-to-day life.


I have worked in the healthcare sector since the 1990s and bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the role. My career has progressed over the years, including spending many years in the NHS. I am proud to have been recognised as an RCN Finalist in 2022 for the Patient's Choice Award, a GBCH North East Highly Commended Nurse in the 2022 regional finals, and a Caring Times Care Homes Hero in 2022. I am very passionate about ensuring the residents receive the best care and experience, with a special interest in dementia care.


Outside of work, you will find me spending time with my family and as a proud ‘Nannie’ to my grandson and in my garden (especially my greenhouse) where I attempt to grow vegetables and walking my 3 spaniels.


I work with a dedicated and supportive team that aims to achieve the best for the home. I look forward to welcoming you to our home.

Lynsey Clarke

Job Title: Deputy Home Manager

I started working at Washington Grange in 2005 as an activity co-ordinator, with previous experience in the care sector, I then worked my way up over the years and was promoted to Deputy Manager in 2020, I enjoy learning new things every day, I enjoy being involved with our residents and their families, participating in various fun days any excuse for a fancy dress day. I enjoy meeting lots of different people and working closely with them to provide the care our residents need and deserve.

Sharon Hall

Job Title: Home Administrator

Sharon has worked in the care sector for a number of years as an administrator


Sharon enjoys her role and loves to spend time chatting with residents and families.


Her hobbies are riding a motorbike with her partner, and holidaying in hot climates.


Sharon also lived abroad in her early years as she was married to a soldier.
