The staff at Washington Grange care for my dad as if he was one of their own family. They are loving, caring people and I could not ask for any one better to look after him. The home itself is always clean and tidy and my dads meals are good home cooked and he has good variation of food. My dad has
dementia and can be awkward at times but the staff cope in a very thoughtful, professional and concerning way. Sometimes I feel the staff do struggle with the work load and may be more staff could be employed to help ease their chores.

A very welcome, friendly, professional and caring home. Great staff and management, especially seniors. Mum is treated like an individual, a friend, a family member. The staff know her likes and dislike, her sense of humour, her vulnerabilities. Mum feels cared for safe and secure which takes a weight
off the rest of the family. Mum has an eclectic taste in food whilst it is not always to her liking they will try very hard to give her alternatives. Most of all mum has her most prized possession with her- her cat! She feels totally at home here and I would definitely recommend the home to others.

Thank you so much to all the team at Washington Grange for all of the care & kindness & consideration shown to my father in law & mother in law over the last 5 months or so.
Sadly my father in law passed away a couple of weeks ago & all of the family would like to express their gratitude for the way
you handled & the care now being given to my mother in law who has Dementia &
Alzheimers.
You have all shown the that life in a care home can be kind & compassionate & whilst you are all very busy, there is always time to give the family information & news which we are grateful for as we all live in different areas of the country.

Job Title: Operations Manager

Hi, my name is Nikki, and I am an Operations Manager supporting the General Manager here at Washington Grange Care Home. Welcome to our website!


Thank you for taking the time to look further into what we have to offer you or your loved one. Here is an opportunity to look at some of our staff team in the home, who all play a vital role in day-to-day life.


I have worked in the healthcare sector since the 1990s and bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the role. My career has progressed over the years, including spending many years in the NHS. I am proud to have been recognised as an RCN Finalist in 2022 for the Patient's Choice Award, a GBCH North East Highly Commended Nurse in the 2022 regional finals, and a Caring Times Care Homes Hero in 2022. I am very passionate about ensuring the residents receive the best care and experience, with a special interest in dementia care.


Outside of work, you will find me spending time with my family and as a proud ‘Nannie’ to my grandson and in my garden (especially my greenhouse) where I attempt to grow vegetables and walking my 3 spaniels.


I work with a dedicated and supportive team that aims to achieve the best for the home. I look forward to welcoming you to our home.

Job Title: Deputy Home Manager

I started working at Washington Grange in 2005 as an activity co-ordinator, with previous experience in the care sector, I then worked my way up over the years and was promoted to Deputy Manager in 2020, I enjoy learning new things every day, I enjoy being involved with our residents and their families, participating in various fun days any excuse for a fancy dress day. I enjoy meeting lots of different people and working closely with them to provide the care our residents need and deserve.

Sharon has worked in the care sector for a number of years as an administrator


Sharon enjoys her role and loves to spend time chatting with residents and families.


Her hobbies are riding a motorbike with her partner, and holidaying in hot climates.
