At St Martins Care, they understand how important it is for families to maintain contact with their loved ones and the importance of the sustained and supported involvement of a resident’s families and friends. They also recognise that residents should have full choice over who they wish to see or be visited by.
In normal circumstances, there will be no restrictions on visiting hours other than those requested by residents collectively or individually. The only exception may be in the incidence of an infection outbreak, where staff will refer to the Outbreak Management and Isolation Nursing Policy and Procedure.
St Martins Care Limited will always have regard for the current national guidance in relation to visiting rights and they are determined to do all they can to ensure families see their loved ones as much as possible.
There is ample free on-site parking.

Thank you for your feedback regarding your observation of your Dad's mealtime experience and we apologise for any distress this may have caused. We have asked the onsite management team to meet with you to go through your Dad's care and support needs to ensure that we are supporting him in line with his personal preferences. We always ask that no visitor leaves our care home feeling anxious or concerned about the care and support provided to their loved one and actively encourage them to speak with the management team as we can usually provide immediate reassurance and take quick action. If the visit is out of hours they can ask for the on call manager to contact them directly. We are delighted to report that recruitment at Washington Manor is going well, significantly reducing our agency use and ensuring we are providing continuity of care to everyone we support.

Thank you for your kind review; we are happy to hear the staff are kind, friendly and approachable. We are also pleased that the staff show dignity and respect and promote residents' independence.
We are a proactive and responsive provider and addressed concerns raised immediately and appropriate action was taken. This was communicated to you by the manager. The records show that support was provided every day with washing and dressing and often the resident would dress independently which is so important to maintain and encourage positive mental health and well-being. The records also show an individual who was enabled and supported to maintain a good diet, encouraged to maintain independent living skills and participate in activities that had meaning and interest to him. We apologised for the error with the beaker and that the records did not always reflect our standards. We refute claims that a free month was offered as this is not our policy. A contract was signed that clearly stated 4 weeks' notice to be given by either party but as you have been informed we will not be chasing this debt. We wish your father well for the future and are happy he has settled in his new home.

From a young age, Helen cared for her dad. This gave her a real passion for caring, so much so that she knew straight away that she wanted to work in care. Helen completed her NVQ level 2 and 3 in school in 2013 and, after that, she worked in several jobs before going to college. In 2016 she had her daughter who is now 7 years old. Helen then returned to work and undertook roles in the community as a carer, something that she really enjoyed. During COVID, Helen chose to take some time out to look after her daughter before deciding to get back into work and joined the team at Washington Manor as a part-time care assistant. She soon realised that she absolutely loved working at Washington Manor and after a few months was promoted into a full-time senior care assistant role. After excelling in that role, Helen was promoted to Deputy Manager and, in January 2025, to the Registered Manager. Helen is really looking forward to taking on the role and new responsibilities. Helen is the perfect example of how someone with the right skills, attitude and determination can progress and develop their career at St Martins Care and she is committed to make a difference to the lives of all the residents of Washington Manor.
Angela has been working in the care sector for over 20 years. She joined the team at Washington Manor in October 2020, starting as a care assistant and was very quickly promoted to senior care assistant. Angela has completed her NVQ Level 4 in Health and Social Care and has recently completed her Moving and Handling Train the Trainer course meaning she can train all her colleagues within the care home.
Angela really enjoys supporting the Senior Care Team with the online systems the company uses to deliver excellent care, such as PCS for care records and Camascope for medication management. Angela was promoted to Deputy Manager in January 2025, and says that she is really looking forward to the opportunity to learn new skills and to putting her 20+ years’ experience into practice. “I am looking forward to supporting the team and ensuring our residents receive the very best care.”
