I can't praise the senior care staff and care staff enough for the end of life care my aunt received at Park View, after a terrible time she had at a previous care home. The care home manager went above and beyond and was a credit to her profession. I would like to thank all at Park View.

My father came to windermere Grange home in Middlesbrough after being in hostpital for quite some time , he came in for rest bite, I couldn't have wished for a better place to bring him to ,I haven't seen this type of care in a long time, the staff were excellent they had so much empathy for there
residents nothing was to much trouble for them ,I came in at all times of the day and night and when those buzzers went off there was no delays they were straight to the residents, also the residents are kept lovely well groomed I went in one day to give dad a shave they'd already done it everything was seen to, such lovely lovely staff , my dad was 90 years old and he didn't want to go back to hospital he just wanted palitive care, sadly my dad passed and all the staff were carring and very dignified right to the end,if anyone out there is thinking were to take your loved one's to l would advise everyone to bring them to this home Im so thankful to them all.

The best care home my husband has been in. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. My husband enjoyed his respite here. The home is lovely and clean. I didn't worry about my husband being there as I knew he was being well cared for. Hopefully in the future I can get a respite place here again. My

Woodside Grange

I find that the nursing unit, particularly Maple, requires an upgrade. The day room blinds/curtains are shabby, to say the least and have been like that for some time.
The new nurse's station is far too public and is open to all passing by, without any privacy.
Finally there is a lack of visitor
chairs in the rooms (at least one would be adequate).
A "rolling programme" of decoration would not go a miss, particularly for those on this unit.

Reply from Cassie Schofield, Head Office Admin at Woodside Grange

Thank you for your feedback about Maple unit at Woodside Grange. We do have a rolling programme for re-decoration and are working through the communal spaces at Woodside Grange, with several having been completed in the last financial year including the purchasing of new furniture, fixtures and fittings. The relocation of the nursing station is to support the registered nurses to have full oversight of the residents and be able to provide guidance and support to the staff team, they did not have this access when they worked in the office space. This supports proactive and responsive care. We have also recently relocated the quality lead to provide additional support to the whole team. The family meeting held last week for Maple provided positive feedback about the care provided and we will continue to build on these relationships, listening to and providing regular feedback and updates.

I feel very lucky that a place was found for my mum at Windermere Grange. The home is spotlessly clean and I noticed that it smells fresh as you walk in. Mum's room is lovely, with a garden view. All of the staff I've met have been extremely warm and friendly, and they treat my mum with such kindness
and dignity. Mum's healthcare and social situations are not the most straightforward, but nothing has been too much trouble at Windermere Grange, and everyone goes out of their way to try to encourage mum and help her help herself. Mum can be quite negative in her outlook, but she has nothing but positive things to say about her experience of Windermere Grange so far, particularly the staff and the food.

My dad is currently residing in Guisborough Manor Care Home. He has been treated with dignity and support. I couldn't ask for a better care home for him to reside in. The staff and management are absolutely fantastic. Nothing is no trouble for them. He has just recently celebrated his 60th wedding anniversary

NO CHANGE.
I visited my father on Saturday, just as his lunch was arriving. His meal was given to him uncut (it was a pie) and with normal cutlery rather than the specialist ones he needs. I got the food cut up and the correct utensils were provided after I asked! No one offered to help him with his
meal, I did it. That's fine but what is happening when there is no one there? My previous Saturday visit 3 weeks ago was the exact same scenario. I am horrified to see that my previous review was saying the same things. I am always told that the staff have been instructed to help him yet I never see this happen. If he cannot manage his meal he will not ask for help he just says he is not hungry, so he has nothing. I understand that most of the staff at the weekends are agency staff but they should still be instructed what to do and monitored to see that they are doing it!

Reply from Cassie Schofield, Head Office Admin at Washington Manor

Thank you for your feedback regarding your observation of your Dad's mealtime experience and we apologise for any distress this may have caused. We have asked the onsite management team to meet with you to go through your Dad's care and support needs to ensure that we are supporting him in line with his personal preferences. We always ask that no visitor leaves our care home feeling anxious or concerned about the care and support provided to their loved one and actively encourage them to speak with the management team as we can usually provide immediate reassurance and take quick action. If the visit is out of hours they can ask for the on call manager to contact them directly. We are delighted to report that recruitment at Washington Manor is going well, significantly reducing our agency use and ensuring we are providing continuity of care to everyone we support.

First impressions were the Manager, Deputy Manager, Staff & Residents too, were friendly & welcoming. It looked inviting, clean, bright, airy, well looked after & smelled fresh. My experience has been that there's always a senior member of staff on duty & it's never a problem to them if I call for an
update on my father (I live away), plus they call me straight away if any health or other issues. My father's needs have changed since he moved in to Windermere Grange & this has not been a problem to them, in fact they've worked very well to keep him safe & comfortable, working with him as & when his care needs have changed. My father enjoys the meals, he gets to choose & likes it that he can eat his meals in his room. In passing I've noticed staff sitting & chatting with the residents in the lounge. Over the past 2 years he's been somewhat on the roundabout of adult social care, domiciliary care, care homes & hospital wards, not all good experiences. Now I can relax he's cared for.

Dad arrived facing the end of his terminal illness. The staff were warm, welcoming and efficient. We were made to feel welcome at any time for as long as we liked. We camped out for the next 4 days. The tenderness and care shown to Dad was moving. We were given enough warning to get there at the end
to say goodbye. The staff gave us space and were gentle and informative about the next steps. The care was exemplary at every level. That has helped us tremendously at a difficult time. We will never forget what the staff at Willow Green did for us.

Very friendly staff, maybe a bit better communication when passing on information from family. Rooms could do with a bit more frequent cleaning, as a family member on visiting our mam have noticed very little crockery and utensils for visitors to make a drink but overall, mam is very happy and content
and the staff treat her with love and respect.
