I just want to say thank you to all the staff at the Manor. My husband died on 9-5-2026. We were shown so much love and care. He had suffered a great deal but the staff cared so much for him. In his final hours he was treated with love and respect. They helped me through his death, and the staff looked after all my family. I can never thank them enough, they all went above and beyond. Thank you from the bottom of my heart

My Mother moved here and ever since she arrived I cannot fault any of the staff. Everyone here is friendly kind, and give the residents care second to none. Not to mention there is also a hairdresser, who comes in. Along with someone to trim toe nails and not forgetting church people to give communion. Which could not be any better for my Mother.

I have just moved my dad from here. He has Parkinsons with time critical medication. They have run out of this medication on one occasion and it took my dad to alert them he had missed a dose...to be told we have none. He missed 2 doses and had severe tremors and slurred speech. Other times it was late, one time 3 hours late. There is a 15 minute window before side effects can be felt. There was a serious lack of medicine knowledge with one Senior in particular. Nobody asked my dad if he wanted to leave his room and I have been there when food put in front of him without a single word being spoke. Obviously, some staff were notblike this. However, security was a concern as visitors are given the number for the front door to get in and out! Dad was also on a fluid restriction and once again this was not properly monitored by certain staff.

Expense overall very polite, the care staff are mostly very approachable and extremely caring and dedicated to providing excellent care/interventions to residents. Manager is also approachable and wants the best for all who reside in the unit. There is room for improvement when it comes to residents' belongings and clothing. I don't believe that it is correct for an individual's personal bathing/toiletries to be used on other residents when these are provided by family, and that all residents should be dressed in their own clothing.

Reply from Cassie Schofield, Business Support Manager at Windermere Grange

Thank you for your kind review, we are happy to hear that the team are very polite and the care staff and management team are very approachable. We agree that residents bathing/ toiletries should be kept in their room for personal use and we will speak to the management team to ensure this is...

They have been amazing showing care, love and understanding toward my mam. They have helped us as a family with the process of mam becoming a permanent resident. You walk in at any time and are greeted with a warm friendly smile. I feel happy and content that my mam is well cared for.

My daughter is in the LD care section Coniston/Ullswater. She has been here a little over a year now. It was the most devastating day of my life when I was told she would now need 24 hr care in a home. However I now realise it was the best decision for her. The staff are amazing lead by an equally amazing Manager. The home is clean, light & airy. - the staff are hard working, friendly and most of all have a very caring attitude towards their residents. I no longer worry as much about my daughter as I know she is happy, healthy and well cared for which is all I can ask for. I can visit/bring her home whenever I want to. There are always activities going on which is fantastic as she is very active - loves music and dancing so it suits her very well. She has been on 2 holidays with them as well.

I would recommend Windermere to anyone looking for a care home for their loved ones. Outstanding !!

I would like to understand why I a male adult who has full capacity am still in bed at 10:55 am? Despite several calls to staff and management I am being ignored, whilst other patients without any capacity are being showered. Priority surely should be made to those that have the mental capacity to enjoy their day, however because I am still being ignored in bed I am getting understandably stressed.

Reply from Cassie Schofield, Business Support Manager at Woodside Grange

We are always balancing needs and priorities and are fully committed to being proactive and responsive. We support a wide range of people with long term conditions and cognitive impairments and they are all equally important. The group clinical lead made contact with you immediately via phone and email and will work with you and the onsite management team to find a satisfactory resolution.

After viewing a couple of different care homes the minute we walked into the Windermere Grange it felt so different to the others. Years of care home perceptions blown away with the friendly and relaxed attitude. Nothing too much for either the Staff and management . I'll have to drag my mother out when the time comes .

The manager and staff of chestnut suite do a great job of caring for the residents, the go above and beyond to help them and us, it's not an easy job due to the various natures of disability in the home and the knock on affect of behaviour but they do amazing. I stay for Sunday dinner most weeks and cannot fault the food and hospital of the team, I'm am eternally grateful for everything they do

We as a family are happy with the care provided for our mam. All the staff & management are amazing. Our mam's classes this as her home now & is never alone or even feels alone, shes allways doing activities when we visit & this could be anytime of the day. This was a very hard decision for us as a family to make but most definitely made the right one.

I just want to say a big thank you to all the staff at Guisborough Manor. My husband is not the easier person to look after. The staff here are amazing, they go the extra mile. They are so kind and patient with him. Nothing is too much trouble. He is well looked after. I am not in good health and I can not go every day. But I do not worry about him. He is so well cared for. With my Mam living over 200miles away, it has been difficult not being able to see her as often as I'd like. After a previous care home didn't work out, I was anxious about finding somewhere that would support her wellbeing. I can honestly say that Laura and the staff on Sycamore have given me this peace of mind. From the beginning, they have been open, attentive and supportive - not just to my Mam, but to us navigating the distance. Angela and Brenda communicate regularly, keep me updated and make time to answer my questions. It's clear they genuinely care about her as a person, not just a resident. The patience, dignity and kindness show in how much more settled and comfortable she is now. The environment is warm and welcoming, and all the team make a real effort to create a sense of home for her. Being far away is never easy but knowing she is somewhere she is respected and truly cared for makes all the difference.
