The care home has spacious bedrooms that are fully furnished with en-suite facilities, several have Juliet balconies overlooking the gardens. There are comfortable communal lounges with space to chat to friends or more privately with family. There are easily accessible bathing and shower rooms with specialist equipment and lift access on each floor. Spacious dining rooms with the facilities for families to make their own refreshments and beautifully presented gardens.

The kitchen produces delicious home cooked traditional food and additional menu choices. There is unlimited free Wi-Fi internet access. Specialist equipment can be provided after appropriate assessment. A full laundry service is provided.   • At St Martins Care, they understand how important it is for families to maintain contact with their loved ones and the importance of the sustained and supported involvement of a resident’s families and friends. They also recognise that residents should have full choice over who they wish to see or be visited by.


    In normal circumstances, there will be no restrictions on visiting hours other than those requested by residents collectively or individually. The only exception may be in the incidence of an infection outbreak, where staff will refer to the Outbreak Management and Isolation Nursing Policy and Procedure.


    St Martins Care Limited will always have regard for the current national guidance in relation to visiting rights and they are determined to do all they can to ensure families see their loved ones as much as possible.

I go to visit a family friend on a weekly basis. I go different days at different times and i cant praise all the staff enough . From office staff to carers to cleaners . They all do a wonderful job. My friend has been in there for about 5 years and in all this time I can honestly say I have no complaints
. Lovely , friendly and clean what more could you want

As my mother in law needed care on leaving hospital, we visited several care homes in the area before selecting one. The manor seemed fine so was selected, unfortunately on a visit you just don't get to see the true level of care. Our experience was not great, the care was very basic with no compassion
or feeling from most of the staff. They just seemed to do the task with no heart or feeling, I witnessed food put in front of guests who clearly needed help, then taken away shortly after when they could not eat it.
My mother in law was at one point dropped while being moved in the hoist they use, but the final straw was during her final evening there. She had not eaten for days, was not drinking very much, if at all so a family member with medical experience called in the evening and asked for some checks to be done, they said they could not do them and only called 111 when pressed, she was taken on blue lights to hospital and will not be returning to Guisborough manor.

My dad is currently residing in Guisborough Manor Care Home. He has been treated with dignity and support. I couldn't ask for a better care home for him to reside in. The staff and management are absolutely fantastic. Nothing is no trouble for them. He has just recently celebrated his 60th wedding anniversary
with Mam. The home did an amazing job of helping them celebrate the special occasion.

Organising meetings so I can see and talk to my Mum whilst I'm spending a significant time away from her out of the UK.

Took care of my mother for two weeks to help give my father a break. She had a great relationship with the staff who treated her with dignity and care as she suffers from severe dementia.

We reluctantly had to put my dad into a care home due to his falling over and dementia which changed him from a very gentleman to an angry man. My dad's care was a very front of Guisborough Manor's staff and any issues were sorted very quickly when Dad was dying there. Palliative end-of-life care was
amazing not just to Dad but to us as a family, making sure we had everything we needed kept us going. Sandwiches, drinks and lots of heartfelt words. I do think the rooms need some updated, small matter in the scheme of things.

My mam has been a resident at Guisborough Manor for the last year. The care she is given on a daily basis is first-class. The kindness and respect from all the staff (even at stressful times) have been a real comfort to me. I know Mam is being looked after and is safe each day and this helps me cope
with my daily life. I can't praise the staff enough - from the admin support to the cleaners. Thank you.

Overall my mother-in-law had a satisfactory stay. She made some new friends, however she was disappointed that there were not many planned activities. She missed her trifles and doughnuts in the afternoon and hot milk in the morning for her cereal biscuit. Overall the staff are friendly and helpful
and she would be happy to stay again for respite care.

Excellent care for my father before he passed away. The staff are kind, compassionate and above all caring. The home is spotlessly clean and the staff are always interacting with the residents. Would highly recommend Guisborough Manor, this care home is not just a care home but a real home.

Mams care is excellent, she is happy here. The staff are excellent. Feel better knowing Mam is here and I can come and go as I please to see Mam which she loves. I feel part of the family. Very friendly staff. 100% couldn't ask for more. Management has an open door, always happy to chat.

Since Mam was admitted to Guisborough Manor for respite, we have seen such a change in her, she is so happy and content here. The staff are all really friendly, helpful and polite and Mam gets on with them all so well. She is really well looked after and provided for here.

My mum has been resident in this care home for a few months and has been happy and well cared for. The staff are friendly and caring and look after my mum really well. The home is clean and the facilities are excellent. My mum loves it here.

Guisborough Manor is a homely place with a calming atmosphere. My mam was given the very best care right up until her final days with ultimate dignity. I believe the communications from the home were exemplary, so I was always in the loop.

Alison's career started as a student nurse at Scarborough General Hospital before moving into adult social care after leaving college. Alison explains "I think care was always a part of my childhood, I don’t think I can remember a time when it wasn’t . My nana lived with my family and my mum cared for her throughout the latter stages of her life. I completed my school work experience at the Stead Memorial Hospital and I continued as a volunteer when my placement finished . The staff there were fantastic and allowed me to participate in lots of duties. This was what I wanted, this was what I needed to do. I wanted to make people smile when they felt sad, laugh when they felt like crying, comfort them when they were in pain, listen when they needed to speak and speak for them when they no longer could. This was and still is my purpose." Alison has been the registered manager at Guisborough Manor since February 2019. She is proud of attaining her NVQ 5 In Leadership and Management for Health and Social Care which enables her to support and mentor current and future care staff to enrich the lives of the residents in our care. When asked about her vision for Guisborough Manor, Alison says "Guisborough Manor is not just a care home, it is “Your home” as soon as you walk through the door. From the subtle décor to the panoramic views, the fabulous care staff to the tasty delights that come from our kitchen. This is how I want our home to continue, making our ladies and gentlemen feel valued, supported, safe, loved and cared for to the highest level."

Alishia has gained over 15 years’ experience in providing care and support to older people, helping to enrich their lives in every stage of her career. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life for residents. Alishia has gained her level 5 in health and social care management, previously being a care home manager herself. Alishia has been deputy manager at Guisborough Manor since October 2020 although she says it feels like she has been a part of the home forever.
