The staff are so friendly and helpful. They go above to provide quality care, we are very grateful. I love the updates about what the residents are getting up to. We love the family events and I feel like my dad receives the best care. He is well fed and the quality of food is amazing. The home is clean, and we feel welcome when we visit. Enjoyed the quiz night held for the residents and families. A great social get-together. So grateful to the Manager and her care team for the continued support, care and peace of mind in the care of my mum-in-law. The care team always provides continuous enrichment with various activities to support and encourage mum-in-law and help her in all aspects of her daily life.

The home has a welcome atmosphere. The staff are friendly and helpful. They try to engage the residents to join in communal meals and activities. Sometimes it seems that requests don't always get passed on or actioned as quickly as we would have hoped.

As a family putting Dad in to a home was a really difficult decision, but seeing how he settled from the moment he stepped inside the door was mind-blowing. Management and staff really made him feel welcome and put him at ease, talking him through the progress. I myself have worked in care for 19 years and can honestly say this is one of the nicest homes I have come across. I would highly recommend Washington Manor.

Washington care home is an excellent-run care home with high performance from staff and management. Residents are well looked after with a home-from-home experience. Staff have really good communication skills with residents. The staff are caring, kind and most of all friendly. Staff have up-to-date training courses to give them professional knowledge in all aspects of their job. There are activities on a daily basis which is excellent at keeping the resident's minds stimulated which they enjoy. Washington care home has excellent hygiene as cleaned on a regular and daily basis. The food is cooked to an excellent standard and has a variety of different meals with a snack trolly attend the rooms with tea, coffee, biscuits, cakes and fruit. I can honestly say Washington Manor is an excellent care home and would recommend it to any potential resident. I am really enjoying my stay at Washington Manor which is so different from the experience I was expecting.

When it comes to the stage when one of your parents are struggling and needs care it is a worrying time. My dad arrived at Washington Manor after trying everything we could to let him live at home with Mam, but after losing his hip bone and not being able to get around the choice was made for us. We wanted somewhere close to Washington and his family as possible and when we were told that it would be Washington Manor that was a plus. The place is wonderful with very high standards, the staff are fantastic and always chatting and making sure Dad is fine. He always says how lovely the food is and is really happy every time we go to visit. It was their diamond wedding and the staff set up an afternoon tea for him and my mam which was a fabulous touch. I live in Spain and it makes my life a lot easier knowing he is well looked after. Thanks to all the staff who work there. Top team

Visited my husband’s mother at the home recently. We are 4 hours away by car so it was really important to us to like the home and the staff during this first visit.
The care home staff are so friendly and welcoming and gave us an update on our family member. They seem to offer so much interaction for the residents which is vital when dealing with early-onset dementia. We are really appreciative of their regular social media posts and videos.

Thank you!

I have previously had poor experiences with care homes and was very apprehensive about my father being admitted to one. He started off as a temporary resident and has been accepted for a full-term placement. I am more than happy with the care and attention he receives more importantly he shows no sign of distress when I visit. The food is of a high standard and the staff are always helpful and will answer any questions promptly and honestly. I visit at varying times and the standards are consistently high. It is never any trouble to make him a drink when requested and always comes with a smile and more importantly to him a biscuit!
Activities are geared to the time of year which helps with orientation.

It is very reassuring that he is looked after to a consistently high standard and can have things from home for his room. I have no problems recommending the home to anyone who like me was initially apprehensive.

My sister arrived at Washington Manor withdrawn, paranoid, hallucinating and very depressed. With the encouragement of all the staff, she is now socializing with other residents and joining in the afternoon activities. She is well thought of and well cared for. The staff here are amazing.

My mam was a temporary resident at Washington Manor for respite purposes. Mam had always lived independently and the family were surprised when she decided to stay longer on a trial period and then to become a permanent resident. From the beginning mam was made to feel welcome and although I worried about her loss of independence it was clear she was happy there and felt safe. Being able to bring some of her personal possessions helped to make her room feel familiar too. From my visits I have found all the staff there to be caring, supportive, friendly and cheerful and they have built up a great rapport with mam. The team there have always been very helpful with any requests I have made and it is a great comfort knowing mam is well looked after.

My father had been in Washington Manor for sixteen months until he passed away in February. He was very happy during his time there and settled. It was his home. The staff were excellent at looking after him due to their care and attention. They gave us the most wonderful gift of another 12 months with our father. A huge thank you to everyone.

My brother originally moved to Washington Manor as a temporary resident, however, after four months he asked to live there permanently. The manager and the team gave him a warm welcome. As a family, we had flexible visits in the early days to help my brother settle in. We have had good communication with the manager and her team and they have supported my brother with his individual care needs.

My mum moved into the home in April 2021 and from day one the staff have been so helpful and supportive. Mum is very happy, settled and safe and that is down to the amazing care she receives as she has dementia and needs extra care and patience. It's a fantastic home and I would highly recommend Washington Manor to anyone who is looking for a care home for a loved one. The management and staff put their heart and soul into caring for everyone, I honestly don't know what we would do without them so thank you one and all, you are all doing a fantastic job.

My mom-in-law moved into Washington Manor last summer. As a family, we were of course apprehensive about moving her there from her own home. I am happy to say that from day one all the staff have been very friendly and supportive. Before her moving in date, they gave us extra access to her room so it could be set up, and she even spent a relaxing afternoon in the lounge, chatting and making new friends. Due to lockdown restrictions earlier in the year, she had felt so lonely and so excited to move into her new environment. She likes the building and often says the staff “are friendly and care”.

Since she moved into Washington Manor we have had no concerns about the level of care she received. My mom-in-law has Alzheimer’s, so of course, there are times when she needs a little extra attention, and the staff there have been very supportive of her needs, this can be a medical issue or just someone to sit and talk to her.

Helen Clark
Helen ClarkJob Title:Registered ManagerJoined: 2022

From a young age, Helen cared for her dad. This gave her a real passion for caring, so much so that she knew straight away that she wanted to work in care. Helen completed her NVQ level 2 and 3 in school in 2013 and, after that, she worked in several jobs before going to college. In 2016 she had her daughter who is now 7 years old. Helen then returned to work and undertook roles in the community as a carer, something that she really enjoyed. During COVID, Helen chose to take some time out to look after her daughter before deciding to get back into work and joined the team at Washington Manor as a part-time care assistant. She soon realised that she absolutely loved working at Washington Manor and after a few months was promoted into a full-time senior care assistant role. After excelling in that role, Helen was promoted to Deputy Manager and, in January 2025, to the Registered Manager. Helen is really looking forward to taking on the role and new responsibilities. Helen is the perfect example of how someone with the right skills, attitude and determination can progress and develop their career at St Martins Care and she is committed to make a difference to the lives of all the residents of Washington Manor.

Angela Needs
Angela NeedsJob Title:Deputy ManagerJoined: 2020
Angela has been working in the care sector for over 20 years. She joined the team at Washington Manor in October 2020, starting as a care assistant and was very quickly promoted to senior care assistant. Angela has completed her NVQ Level 4 in Health and Social Care and has recently completed her Moving and Handling Train the Trainer course meaning she can train all her colleagues within the care home.

Angela really enjoys supporting the Senior Care Team with the online systems the company uses to deliver excellent care, such as PCS for care records and Camascope for medication management. Angela was promoted to Deputy Manager in January 2025, and says that she is really looking forward to the opportunity to learn new skills and to putting her 20+ years’ experience into practice. “I am looking forward to supporting the team and ensuring our residents receive the very best care.”
